I just finished building the handrail on my deck ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z and used this great little router to clean up the top rail before the final sanding and stain. It was light weight but packed lots of power. Either size battery didn't seem to make it top heavy and I'm a 64 yr old women so I really appreciated how easy it was to use...................... CORDLESS only way to go !!
There is a similar video where the fellow made the same device out of wood with a cheap hand drill and a couple of hand tools. I could believe that he made it out of necessity. On the other hand, in this video I saw a Bosch cutoff saw, a lathe, a drill press and welding equipment to build a hand drill router base. I would think he would want to build something that is not as good as a cheap router that is svailable for a few bucks, runs 10 times faster and is more precise. It is sort of like buying a Ferrarii to go buy a quart of milk.
Great video! While this is a cool, practical idea, it will inevitably destroy your drill (and router bits.) Drills are not designed to to have side torque placed on them. I found out the hard way by making my own "bench grinder" and s cut-off wheel system from two old, heavy, and presumably indestructible drills I had. Those two drills (an old Makita, and an old Milwaukee) ended up blowing out bearings after only a few uses. (I replaced the bearing in the makita and repurposed it into a sanding system since I rigged it to not torque the motor to the side. ) Now if you were to use this setup as a drill press, drill guide, it would probably last longer than humanity itself lol. So I will be heading to the shop to make one for a drill guide. (I'll also put springs around each of the threaded rods in order to give myself a "plunge" aspect.) As well as put couplers (likely make them out of conduit) into the housing that goes around the threaded rods so that I can slide up and down more freely while also keeping the mount plate stable, and equally distributing the weight. All in all... a genius idea. I love "tinkering" and making my own things.
The idea is really very good, but it was necessary to put two springs on the screws to be more practical when you need to raise and lower the tool to perform the job!
I made this tool today, but its too less stable than the original... It was unable to make a full cut of a surface of a bole slice... I 'll try to make more stable and hard
Please guys do not try this. A drill internal parts do NOT cater for this, if something breaks you could seriously injure yourself or bystanders. Also not to mention, your work piece will look like crap because the speed a drill producers is not nearly fast enough. Even the fastest drill on the market won't match that of even an average router. Cool idea in theory but in practice its dangerous and will cause ugly chips on your work
Most folks I reckon who are watching vids on how to make a routing jig for a hand drill are doing so because they can't afford expensive tools like those used in this case to make the jig. If you can afford a drill press etc. you can probably afford a hand router.
Your drill doesn’t have the right bearings for being a router this is the cause for your chatter, the pulling is caused by too low a speed, next time use an angle grinder and machine out your own er 11 collet chuck with the same thread as the output shaft on your grinder
Nope.. I like the idea and overly built. I like it and you've got skill. I just wanna trim up some holes for a better fit in some plywood and cheap speakers. I was thinking well if i have the stuff in the back, I'll prolly use it only a few times.. However, they're likely only 20-30 at harbor freight.. I just want this done... On another topic is that used motor oil in your oiler? I do that to.. It's thin and creeps in if left to sit for awhile.
it's good initiative but there's 0ne thing i like to comment your Blogs Sir/Madam your Grinding Tools isn't good practice without guard in the Grinder Disc because Safety First...ok! Gracia Senyor/Senyora
Not sure what you tried to prove, all this machinery and materials used to get poor quality router mount which you have to eyeball for level, etc.. . I better buy ready-made one.

Parabéns pela criatividade ficou top!
Bit of a beast.
THANK YOU!

Fine
Thanks man
wish i had your tools to make a router attachment; it'll be cheaper to buy a router!

Mantap mantap
Instead of bolts use compression springs
Ok thanks for your suggestion
How to begin: set up a workshop packed to the rafters with heavy-duty hardware. Then make your measly router!
When you using this diy idea plz wear a safty hand glove

He wrote it right, well done! But they’ll hardly listen to you. India, what can I say.

A drill Chuck is not good with side loads, you have a big chance of a missing testicle when that lets go of the router bit.
Your drill doesn’t have the right bearings for being a router this is the cause for your chatter, the pulling is caused by too low a speed, next time use an angle grinder and machine out your own er 11 collet chuck with the same thread as the output shaft on your grinder

Thank you for the tutorial. The only thing is the measurements. What length is the standing rod and the plate?

Ok thank you
Secces nhi hi bhai
Bisa pesan bg plis
Turn it into a router table...
Leave the trigger lock on and put an in line foot pedal for operation
👏👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Thank you
well try bro, but you have to edite and correction in future
Ok thank you
Good concept but I wouldn't want my fingers that close to the bit or the chuck. I was seeing bad things happening.
Add a lever and spring and you'd have something that can act as a drill press. I might make one of these with my powertig welder.
Well done..
But less stability.
Steel plate ke corner aur edges curve karna rah gaya he..isliye ye atak raha he.
RIP to the drill
Doing name whats 😋🙏🙏
That so expensive compared to new one lol
Song number 1 name whats🙏🙏
😊😃👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you
That not good because you can not see any line you put it on the wood
Materials and measures please
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Thank you

Lol. So much work and specialized equipment just to end up with this piece of crap?
Ta doido ??? Que trabalheira porra !!! E melhor comprar uma tupia barata e pronto caramba !!!
О
6:57 man I saw you ))) 🙂
