Finally, a useful review on this undergarment! warmth, weight adjustment, and ease of drying are the most important factors for experienced divers. i have an arctic undergarment and its starting to wear out after a ton of dives, and i use a heated vest as well. this helps my decision to upgrade. most reviewers will just say "its a good undergarment" without any comparisons or context. i live on Vancouver island and we look for warmth without the expense of wearing extra lead. thank you!
Tim, you will have to let me know I'm tempted as well . I had the Halo 3d and found the vest didn't fit under it great. That said it was sized with out the vest originally. I also found the body mapping had a couple cool spots on it. Steve loves his 3d and fits his vest just fine just size accordingly as I found the 3d didn't have much give.
Great review bro! I'm going diving with Orcas in Norway in 4 C (39F) water next month, and your review clinched for me! Instead of getting the Artic I'm going straight to the Halo AR.
Great review, thanks! What do you wear/what were you wearing under the AR? If anything at all. J2s or anything or did you find it warm at 46F with just the AR?
Hope you are fine and could do some more dive in your Halo AR. Did your friend who had the Halo 3D already dive the Halo AR and is it as warm as the Halo 3D? I consider to do the change too as I want to have less weight and not want to invest in a heating system as I don't want to go into technical diving. Thank you for your feedback and have nice holiday season and happy New Year.
So my dry suit zipper was broken and leaked bad he has dove it and said it’s the same warmth as his 3D but I asked him would he have upgraded for anything other than the weight loss he said no so if you are trying to ditch lead then I say yes do it if you are ok with the extra lead I wouldn’t really upgrade now I will say this the drying time on the AR takes forever and you have to flip it and dry it inside out and dry it the other way I’ll be releasing a video on a drysuit dryer I have been using and it’s amazing and as affordable as a diy drysuit dryer
@@overcash007 Thanks for your reply. I am going to the Boot show in Düsseldorf next week and check it out. I would like to have something warmer than the Halo 3D which I personally don’t think it is so warm but which has less lift. My equipment, the double 12l is freaking heavy as it is right now. If I could reduce the weight by only 5lbs I would be already happy. If you have any recommendation, let me know.
@@alexg.994 I have been out of the water way to long my dry suit leaked the whole time I owned this suit but I just got it back with a new zipper so I’m hopeful that I will no longer have issues and can give this a better review but being that I was soaked and still warm in this suit speaks volumes if I were to get a leak at some point on a dive

Trying to figure sizing. What size did you get and what is your sizing. Also I read a comment that Flexibility was an issue compared to Arctic what did you think. Thanks
So far he likes it better although when we got to dive on Father’s Day it wasn’t cold that being said he did flood his dry suit and says the drying time is about the same as the 3D and he likes the thumb loops a lot better

Definitely a wise choice I don’t regret buying mine at all

Just a t shirt and sweat pants
Hello, do you think this undersuit is made for 4 degree cold water? for 2H diving?
i have the Arctic but I find it too buoyant. Is the Halo AR less buoyant or abt the same? Thanks!
That was me swimming thru the bus training with "pony" bottle Man its a small world Thanks for making this video !!!
lol tell your buddy in sidemount he had a gas leak on his left side either first stage or valve I didn’t really notice it until in editing
Crazy that out of 70 views you find my video you must have been looking for reviews on the halo ar
@@overcash007 Exactly !!!
The thumb loops are one of my favorite parts of the AR especially compared to the 3D
Yeah they are nice I left mine on over my gloves and it wasn’t uncomfortable

The Arctic and these are just as flexible as each other I think although the halo ar may be slightly more flexible I wear a medium I’m 5’6” 165 pounds
Thanks

So what's a mostly dry suit?
its a slightly damp dry suit lol
Where were you diving at? BTW you convinced to purchase the Halo AR.
I dive mostly in north west Ohio in Gilboa quarry
