i've been playing this game and i have really liked it, and the fact that there's a potential balrog slaying in my future makes me want to play it even more! :D
How long is a piece of string? The age old answer is: it depends. Each class is fun and cool in its own way and it depends on whether you enjoy melee class vs ranged, etc. None are better than others just depends on your own preferences.
can someone explain to me about LOTRO classes? Like.. champion or Hunter, which one is better? (i would choose a elf hunter obviously lol), is it worth it? Or what other class is very good?
I raided on WoW for about the past 3 years and recently canceled my account to get away for as long as possible. As someone who was highyl addicted to WoW and would have a hard time adjusting to other games, LotRO is definately a compareable game and the best alternative in my opinion... though if you're looking for a free MMO I would have to say Perfect World International is an amazing F2p MMO.
Yep, level 50 currently, but in the new expansion, Moria (in August I believe), they're upping the level cap to 60! :) Also keen on seeing the two new classes: Warden/Rune Keeper.
Contrary to what the Blizzard fanboys will tell you, WoW didn't single-handedly invent the genre. What they did do was make it popular. When WoW was developed, it basically took everything that Asheron's Call and Everquest were doing right at the time, polished the hell out of it, and wrapped it all in a nice little package. The result was a game that was easy to pick up, easy to play, and filled with in-dept warcraft lore that left their die-hard fans in need of a pants change.
most people don't realize that there are many Balrog. they're only mentioned in the books and in the movie you only see one. Actually i think the book the other Balrogs where mentioned in was The Silmarillion.
there WERE many balrogs. After the march of the Valar almost all of the died. The one shown in the movie was probably the last remaining so it is safe to say by that time only one balrog existed

But yeah there are a number of Balrogs, but i think the one in the film was called 'Flame of Udun' Because 'Flame' means Firery demon or something and 'Udun' was a dark city ruled over by the early Dark lord 'Morgoth' hence when they went to the elves after the Mines, (dunno the name of the elf) asked that he wanted to talk to Gandalf, then Legolas said 'The Balrog of Morgoth'..
I can settle this: Why do we judge games for others? genres for others? gfx for others? Its simple math - If you dont like a game, goto another. This is why game makers exist - to give us new meaning and new experiences playing "Different" games... It doesnt matter who thinks what game is best for "X-Y" reasons, The point is....What do "You" prefer to play... Go play it, enjoy it. After all, Thats why games exist.
@viruspunk102 Of course, after about five days of gameplay you get to the stage you have to blow a fiver for questpacks for every single region, and if you want to get around all the other ridiculous restrictions, paying a good 120 a year is still necessary.

Yeah, Tolkien wrote LOTR before Blizzard was made, but did they make a MMORPG before WoW? Even the PS2 games aren't like WoW at all. The console games looks like the movies, nothing epic about it like WoW. Not complaining tho, don't get me wrong I love this game. And I love everything about LOTR

Graphic ways it might be slightly better but World of warcraft looks more Fantasy like wich can make it to look less Nice. but details in wow is really nice at top

LOTRO may be a good game, but I will never buy it until I can try it first. I got super stoked when the free trial came out only to be let down when the downloader wouldn't stop freezing/crashing. Maybe its a 64 bit Ultimate compatibility issue, I dunno. If anyone else is having this problem and found a solution, let me know please.

I concur. Lotro is probably the best mmo i've played yet, although i'm not a huge mmo-er. Its probably just because lotr is amazing though.
