Today we are going to put the Flying Torpedo Launcher, The Soulwolf against the Reman Scimitar.
Played from both sides in Star Trek Bridge Commander Remastered 1.25UE.

The soulwolf looks straight out of Galaxy Quest.
I love how accurate the Sol Wolf torpedoes are. Thats how it should always be. I really like the design as well.
That was Absolutely Incredible the Soulwolf is an Absolutely Amazing Starship withstanding all the firepower from the Scimitar Amazing
Quantum torpedoes to drain the Scimitar's shields and photon torpedoes to finish it off. An excellent strategy! 🖖

I have to believe the battle against the Enterprise E would have been different if the cloak wasn't involved.
Not at all. Remember, Shinzon was trying to disable the Enterprise to capture Picard, if he wanted it destroyed, well...look what happened to the two warbirds that came to help. They're supposed to be quite close to a Sov in terms of power, and the Scimitar disabled both in seconds
According to bc remastered the warbirds don't even come close to the sovereign's power 🤷 I tried many times to beat it in a 1 vs 1 fight and never succeeded
@@toryunaminosaki1022 How an earth did the Remans build a ship so powerful that it totally overpowered the most advanced class in the federation fleet? Like the federation are known to be the most technologically advanced out of the main races in the alpha quadrant. Yet the remans have the technology to create something that the federation cannot match at all. I find that very hard to believe.
@@jonathanward7320 the romulans were on the same level if not more advanced. This ship was a prototype built in secret that has been tested during the dominion war and mothballed after it, as it was exceedingly expensive to manufacture. Shinzon took it as his flagship after the coup, later on a more streamlined & cheaper version was manufactured in somewhat limited numbers (the Kopesh). One of the main reason it never really caught on except the cost & resources, was the new doctrine the romulans implemented after the war when it got clear that huge dreadnought sized ships could be overwhelmed by more numerous & much cheaper/easy to produce frigate & destroyer sized ships, so for a while they went the small & manueverable route with the Mogai & Morrigu warbirds, just as the feds & klingons did with their own designs. Only after about 10-50 years after the war (depending if you see Picard as canon) the alpha quadrant powers started building bigger capital ships, feds having the Odyssey & Inquiry class, the klingons the Martok & Bortasq and the romulans the H'pax but they still went mostly with smaller ships or refits of older bigger ships like the Ddrex(romulus blowing up and the romulan empire breaking up in a power struggle was probably one of the reasons they remained conservative with big ships)
I was about to ask that myself... as the fight was progressing, I thought: this ship must be from the future... but when?
It appears to be designed to hit fast and hard and get out quickly.

I think my favourite Star Trek Star Ship would be the Soulwolf class of ships. Just purely on the amount of torpedoes you can fire in a battle. The amount of torpedoes you can fire are the difference between winning a battle and losing a battle. I would be proud to be the captain of the Soulwolf class of ships knowing that my crew and my ship has a chance of survival with having a ace up our sleeve the large amount of torpedoes we can fire.

I agree I can't see why certain Federation ships can't fire a large torpedo volley like that.

It does have an odd look to it doesn't it. Totally agree, it looks like something that belongs in the sea,lol.
The -Soulfworf- Soulwolf looks like the stardrive section after the saucer separation.
There is another ship in BC, the Northstar, which is essentially the Soulwolf saucer with nacelles😅

Soulwolf is a God Ship, actually. there's a TE version as well called Bloodwolf. and it is indeed by Atlom, who still has ALL his designs up on deviantart (including the sketch for Soulwolf). note that the original release Soulwolf was copy protected...it was shipped *only with the PYC versions of the hardpoint and projectiles*

When I updated the UniMod packs for Remastered, I intentionally listed the SoulWolf as a "Future" ship due to its power.
I wouldn't say she is a God Ship, but she is far more powerful than most

I remember the soulwolf having the great torpedo volley..... but its shields absolutely sucked. Now it can actually go toe-to-toe with the Scimitar? some major redesign happened somewhere we weren't told about.
The limiting factor for topedo launchers seems to be size. The launchers on the Enterprise from TNG are huge, and i's a very big ship.
I think power to supply the launchers plays a part as well. They're effectively both a railgun and warp field generator for the torpedoes.
I believe I'd love to see 2 or 3 of these Soulwolf ships against a temporal cube.
I feel like if the AI could utilize quad spread torpedoes like you did, it would have been a short fight. :D

Obviously the Klingon ships were fake and a bluff but I'd really love to see that tempted at scenario they teased. Unless you've already done this before ofcourse. 😅 Anyway hope it makes it into your battle book 🙂
If you are referencing the episode with the defecting Romulan, the three Klingon Birds of Prey were legit, going by Picard's line of "send my thanks to the Klingons" after Tomolak backed off

I'd have to disagree with the idea that there isn't any reason why a Federation ship couldn't fire that many torpedoes at once. It's not really a technology gap here, it's more about Newton's third law of motion where every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Launching so many physical munitions at high speed the same direction at the same time would have a tremendous backlash force against the ship itself. For a very large ship, like a space station, it could probably be handled with inertial dampeners however on such a grand scale as what we just saw with how small a ship they came from not only would it require a massive amount of energy to launch and brace from the backlash but the shields themselves would be practically impossible to maintain with that many powerful objects being launched at the same time.
Indeed, they could toss them out of the shuttlebay and use almost zero power but the torpedoes wouldn't be able to hit a ship with functioning impulse and warp drives. Even impulse is tremendously fast, being able to accelerate from a standstill to high percentages of light speed in seconds.

"Bit more aggressive".......ramming your ship is pretty much the most aggressive thing you can do here. Maybe detonating warp core is more than that.

That Soulwolf Torpedo ship just looks awkward. The nacelle pylons are in the wrong place. They should come from the top of the secondery hull and why the space between the saucer and secondary hull. That's just making unnecessary complications for the ship design.
I counted the torpedos. I think it was 16 fired at a time in each volley.
It does look powerful do. I am going to say 27th Century.
Would it not be advantageous to fire torpedoes a wee bit closer.
Due to the quirks of BC they would miss if he volley fired them from close range. Volley firing only works from longer distances. Besides as far as I know torpedoes don't lose damage potential with range, so as long as they hit they do the same damage.

It's not currently out yet. Although from what I've hard it's in the final stages of testing. So hopefully soon. I'll make a video as soon as it's released 🖖
