dude I saw this video and IMMEDIATELY started to build this, freaking awsome design!!! I made the wingspan about as tall as I am beleve it or not
How much did it cost?
100% doing this after I get done with finals
Ah yes! V-tail is sick! I have to make one of these!
She is quite a graceful beauty in the air. Nice rig!
Congrats on a nice successful flight and getting some great aerial video.
Happy flying in 2023. My you have lots of blue skies and light wind days.
flies really nice, and small cost other than electronics, a larger one for LOS flying would be good for me
This is something I've always wanted to do. Having discovered this video I'll have to go check out your others 👍
Thanks man! Glad you got the right video =)
Take a look at the specific build video of this one whenever you have time for it.
I live in New Mexico, this would be great
This is very inspirational. Your.videos are getting better and better. I love the air to air footage, it's great to see how the plane operates and see the landscape where you are. Are you going to be doing any more long distance flights?
When I got the time and weather for it =)
Beautiful man….nice flight envelope. INAV…..Pawel would be so happy. Get some HD fpv on that thing.
What a fine form, flying and affordable machine there you have created. Your aerial video is outstanding, But it makes me want more.
I really like the B roll, flybys, the video and audio, the location are better than most I have seen. That prop is massively cool. Please keep your hand out of it, although your technique is as good like Ed's. If the prop was any longer, I'd like to see some kind of aboriginal atalat(sp)? launching system. hehe. Iiii think?
Your drones até awesomr!
Cheers from Brazil
Amazing content
Fantastic video. What propellers did you use with the brushless motor?
Cool. Like to see more fpv way points.
Congrats for over 100k views on your previous video! Wish you double it:)
Im working at this moment at reworked version of your Star Walker. This version would be build with two carbon fiber profile (1cm x 1cm x 100cm) to connect tail with fuselage. Landing gear, the simplest i could do with 2mm thick steel rod and 60mm wheels (x3). I made about 20cm long, 6cm wide cut for cargo doors underneath wing mount. In about week or so i could share results with you and all dimension. Im aiming for flying weight under 2.3kg with 6000 mah lipo and my GT 3526/04 motor (3300g max thrust with 12x6 prop sport version)
Thanks man, I see the 100k as UA-cam’s christmas gift =)
Please share pictures or video on IG (Aerostuff.FPV) I really want to see the end product! It sounds incredible already having the carbon tubes.
Hello! Great video! What do you meat Autonomous Missions? Is it able to flight for a long range without radio steering? Is it possible to set GPS coordinates in 10km and the aircraft will go there automomously?
Yes, exactly how you mentioned it, the UAV will fly on it’s command (without steering) to the present waypoints.
Hence the DJI footage at the beginning - I was flying the DJI Drone and the homemade UAV flew waypoint missions within 2km distances
Very crazy, i really liked
This is fantastic
So if you have throttle lock and level flight mode enabled, to avoid prop strike on hands hold the plane in front of you by the wings on the trailing edge with both hands and launch it over your head...also, I dont know how much duct tape you used, but maybe consider weighing it and then as a lighter option use mylar packaging tape...
I already changed the 14x4.7 with a 12x6 propeller for better efficiency and the risk of slicing my fingers - I always launched it with a regular fuselage throw, my hand had clearance but it always was a nervous throw which didn’t go always right
Now I use Auto-Launch and throw it before it throttle’s up and climbs automatically
The tape isn’t duct tape - It’s Silver Wingtape from AliExpress, soon getting Gold roles for future aircraft’s
great job, I wonder though what is your span? chord? I maybe wrong but appears the wing is not as smooth in profile as it could be(squared over spar?) on the top surface. Keep at it!
1.6m wingspan / 6” chord + tapered ailerons
Very nice 👌🏻
What if you were to design retractable skids, such as on some helicopters, so that as it nears landing, a very pencil thin skid made of carbon fiber of about 12 inches in length would come out from the belly on each side and provide protection to the belly of the aircraft?
That’s so cool!! What kind of range do you think is max for something like that? And what is the biggest limiting factor? Is it battery life or range of your RF signal?
Thanks!
I haven’t flown it for long range yet. But I think it’s the radio signal
Outstanding work, I'm assuming your using the latest version of inav?
How difficult would a 1ish mile setup be to attain?
How much did this cost to build minus your time? Thanks and wonderful stuff!
Thanks!
It’s about $140-160 per aircraft and 2-4h for building (realistically). Pretty affordable for what it’s capable of!
@@AeroStuffFPV I was thinking of building one for drone fishing lol
@@AeroStuffFPV I was thinkig of building one for drone fishing. That cost is reasonable compared to the 2K systems that are abailable now. Besides, even if I splashdown, it is not bad. Also what camera are you using they are super slick.
I wonder what is the difference in terms of handling and maneuverability between propellers at the back-end and front-end. Is it more efficient to have props on the front?
The main difference is speed & efficiency.
The pushers (back-props) fly slower and use less power to stay aloft. The stall speed is also lower.
Tractors (front-props) are faster but require more power/speed to maintain altitude & stability.
But there was a solution in which I made a tractor design with a depron-wing, which made it fly at just over 1h (5A consumption on average) compared to 30-35min of regular foamboard wings (+200gr heavier than depron wings)
@@AeroStuffFPV that's a great answer. Thank you very much for that! Have you ever considered edf? I can guess that answer is probably not because edf's are least energy efficient solution and you aim to fly long range, right? Anyway the benefits from using edf is that plane looks more smoother but probably you dont care about look that much. Have a nice day and once again thanks for your explanation!
how did you get the propeller to stop horizontally?
propeller blade could have stopped vertically during landing
Coincidence. Happens many times, but vertical prop landings occur too.
@@AeroStuffFPV folding propeller would be a great idea i guess.
Amazing work though 👍 best of luck 👍
Is it hard on your prop to land like that at 4:19?
You should sell kits of these that would be sooo coo
very cool i want to build one
What wind speed can your aircraft fly in?
Scale 4 MAX
Where is cg located at? Center of the wings?
Its located 4.5cm from the leading edge where the carbon fibre rod is.
i wanna make the micro sized of this wish me luck
How far will this go miles I am trying to find a drone build that can fly 10 miles if that’s a thing
Approx 12miles before landing (with a 4S 5000mAh LiPo)
Whats the total build cost?
I’d say $150
When doing the long distance flights. Do you stay below a certain height?
I surely do! The airspace isn’t mine.
Do you have the design files for this?
Where do you study?
What is the flight time that you managed to get from it ?
Haven’t flown it since then. Bad weather these days. Might fly it this weekend and upload a video about flight performance!
How u do filming with that speed.?
Filming drone flying behind it…
Is the f405 compatible with betafpv elrs receiver?
Possible if the ELRS receivers support SBUS or other protocols, compatible with 405's
@@AeroStuffFPV Thanks for the help I will be using the Matek CRSF to SBUS converter
Bro propeller name ?
14x4.7SF/3K-Carbon Propeller
Any templates for those wing tips? @aerostufffpv
Great build 😎😎👌👌
Greetings! I would like to read something about the technology you use
