Best tutorial in Utube on slab modelling. But I did,nt find till the slab modelling & design one way simply supported (slab edge not restrained on wall/ beam) on brick wall.
Hi I hope you are fine and doing well. Mashallah i apperciate you leacture really i learned too much thing but i thing i need those excels shets if you guide me how i can get those it will be your pretty contribution
thumbs up bro! I Have one question how to know that the load applied to the slab are correctly transfer to the beam ? can we design the slab beam and column in the same project?
yes but in different runs as when designing beam and column we need to take slab as membrane, and when designing slab we take as shell thin type and also apply construction load on ground floor.
@@EngineeringLearningPlatform Thanks for your kind remarks. I would add another question why we can't use shell-thin and apply load on it(shell-thin) and then design everything in the same project? as the shell-thin cant transfer the load to the beam accurately?
Hi. What do you mean by Framing: Intermediate Moment Resisting Frame? Can I use metric equivalent, do simply supported solid 2-way or 1-way slab on beam and use BS 8110 code using Etabs? For simply supported slab, how should the beam dimension be considered as for example 425x150 means the height of 425 include thickness of 125 mm. for slab and 300 for the web of the beam with each element being cast at different time (hence simply supported) and 150 is the width of the beam. Thanks for those precision.
@@EngineeringLearningPlatform I am working on a project. It has multiple 2 way adjacent slabs of varying Lx and Ly. I have assigned Edge releases M=0 & T=0.001 to all edges for effect of Simply supported. Used strip method for analysis. Strip A for short span and Strip B for Long span of slab for every individual slab. In local axis of slabs, I have given 90° wherever short span is along Y axis. After analysis, I am seeing slab moments max in Strip B (long span) rather than in Strip A (short span). I tried multiple stuff but it just doesn't go right..
Watch "How to Design of 2 way slab using Etabs Tutorial - Direct Design Method"

Nice video for detailing and design of rcc slab on etabs tutorial - Thumbs UP!!

very helpful video. Great platform to learn.

@@atiqahmadjan9175 shell thin is no doubt realistic, but membrane condition is rather conservative.

Imrf is type of frame used in moderate seismic zone .
For beam dimensions size 450x150 is actually 300 web and 150 in slab of 150mm thickness
Sir, if span in both direction are not same then we have to take L/4 for the shorter one?
Yes . The column strip is L/4 of shorter span in both directions. remainder is middle strip
Can you do make one for 2 way slab with ratio greater than 1?
Sorry what do you mean

@@EngineeringLearningPlatform In short, I'm getting more My > Mx
Don't release moments ofcourse@@Mohsinbagban
@@EngineeringLearningPlatform Whether I release moment or not, the answer is same. I get My>Mx.
The middle strip width I consider is
0.5L + 0.5R =1m
What is the load combination of long term deflection in Indian code?
Please post video shear wall design and detailing.
Yes coming within a week
Hi this method is very long time get how can design direct methods design please add in chenal
You mean using excel sheets?
