    So funny when you got the dozing and then woke up and was going straight toward a pole LOL

    I had that dozing a couple of times early in my ETS2 driving career, pretty scary aren't they! Not sure I ever got THAT far over the sleep meter though haha!!

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I've never had a stretch of road where there just wasn't a way to get sleep, and it didn't help that we were pretty tired before starting. A streak of weak choices and ... boom, almost dead! :)

    I was someplace in Colorado yesterday and couldn't find a rest or fuel. When I finally did find both, I took 218 gallons (out of 240 gallon tanks) and I was WAY in the red on rest. That's the closest to being stranded as I have come.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  11 місяців тому

      Yeah, it pays to prepare in this state! There are some service gaps that can really mess you up. Running out of gas really isn't a big deal, but that sleep one can really get you. :)

    I have dozed off like that before. Not in a truck, just my car. Definitely puts the fear of God into you. Luckily I was on a long, straight, unoccupied country road when it happened.

      Yeah, I hear you. I've gotten extremely sleepy driving a couple of times and caught myself nodding like that. It's so scary when it happens. :)

    We still haven't had any snow here yet! :( Yeah not much of a view hah. Didn't see the cycling thing coming :O Overtired driver, in snow, on mountains, satnav in Turkish. Yeah man sounds safe and responsible :p Least if you crash you can sleep without worrying where you are. Got a tad precarious there!! He's turning his cab into a lowrider by the looks of it.

    The "dozing" messages are a new one on me! I've done deliveries with my sleep meter in the red, but I've never gone so long as to have those messages pop up. How wild, now I kind of want to do a sleep deprivation run just to get them.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому

      Yeah, I think they started after the 3rd sleep fine. So apparently you have to go 3 hours beyond the limit to start getting them. I don't know why, but I really want to try to do a 24-hour drive now and see if it's even possible. :) I was thinking that perhaps the "dozing" episodes happen at set intervals, in which case you could anticipate them and stop on the road before they happen? But I'm pretty sure I had zero control over the truck once I was dozing. The truck just keeps going at whatever speed and direction you had it set at.

    Been there and done this in Europe as well. Not fun but I learned to check my routes for rest stops before departing.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому +1

      It's interesting because I've never felt the need to really check routes. There always seems to be a sleeping spot somewhere. This is the first time where there was such a long section with nothing. And even worse, the two sleeping spots that showed up on the map were only accessible from the other side of the highway! They fooled me. Garg! :)

    Yeah that dozing thing has been there for as long as I have been playing ATS/ETS (Though not noticed the wording before think it used to just say zzzz) Many times I have driven overtired and the screen blacks out and even had it black out for awhile once lol which well lead to shall we say aggressive counter manoeuvres to get back on track like you almost had 😂

    • @ZillaBlitz

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому

      Yeah, I think we were pretty lucky to make it through that. I wonder if the dozing sessions keep getting longer and longer? They felt kind of random in duration.

    the IKE/Johnson tunnel is the road with the steepest incline (* believe) in the US. People will test truck's towing capacities (search UA-cam for IKE challenege) because of the steepness. I've seen Ford F-150 get 7 MPG on that thing.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Nerdy! Yes, I've bumped up the precipitation setting a couple of times now, but it was quite low when I first looked at it. I think I'll bump it up a bit more for the next episode. And we were really lucky on the dozing. I think it would have been super easy to total the truck, or flip it over, or something else quite bad. :)

    You would think having a sleeper cab, you could pull over anywhere and sleep. It seems having a sleeper cab has no advantage over a day cab in this sim.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому

      It is a bit odd, isn't it? From a gameplay perspective, I don't mind, but it can be a bit unusual to see lots of places that would work fine for a quick 1-hour nap and not be able to use them. That's the thing I'd like to see: variable sleep durations. :)

  • @ostrichponk6844

      I thought that was pretty crazy as well. That's a great question about life lessons. I think that this has really taught me that we can pretty much just stay up all the time without sleeping and things will still be okay.

    when I found out what happnd I was driving this load of Logs though This very windy two lane road in Washington after the forest machinery DLC came out? anyhow, Found out you can really trash your cab that way. Ended up having to get towed to a garage and lost the delivery. Got tons of fine, very bad idea. Good Idea when you get your load, look at your mission thign (F6) and look at how long you hve to deliver, adn how long to rest. Then switch to map and drop a pin in a rest area before you hit the limit.
    Maybe should be a mod where you can sleep on side of the road? or is that I llega IRL?

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  Рік тому

      Yes, I was really surprised that we didn't end up on the side of the road upside down. And I've started checking sleeping and sleeping spots before deliveries now. This could have easily ended much worse. :)

      Is that the Route 550 drive? I think it's a special achievement in the game right? And if I'm not mistaken, we are right near it now. It's just south of where we ended up. That might be a fun next episode. Especially if we could finally get a snow storm. :) I'm using a couple of Dell monitors at the moment, and hope to finally create a "tech set up" video this month, so I'll list and post everything I'm using for this. :)

      @Zilla Blitz do you have to go searching for dealerships to open them? I saw a Volvo dealership in one town I was driving to but because it was on a little side street it didn't count it for me 😕

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  Рік тому +1

      Yes, you have to get close enough to unlock them, which sometimes means driving off your main route to do so. It's a good idea to unlock at least one of each type of truck in the beginning, but there's no rush, really. As long as you unlock the dealer of the truck you'd like to buy, you should be good. :)

    • @NovejSpeed3
      @NovejSpeed3 Рік тому +1
