Wow, that's really nice. The refinements they've made look great. Love the 5 bladed prop.
I wonder if they can drop the 900 HP PT6 in the Kodiak 100? Now that would be nice for PNG bush ops.
Good morning from Minnesota! It really awesome to meet you at Oshkosh!!
The new Kodiak is really awesome!!
That's nice. I can think of one more selling point for the 900 (but real nice mix of cargo and seats like the 100). Since it CAN fly slow, is NOT retractable (ooops) and for many small businesses is reasonably priced and good operating cost, then you can imagine interesting field engineers and regional sales people in learning to fly themselves just by putting them in the right front on a trip or two.
You can call it 'Exec' model but for sure, my boss (before I retired years ago) would not like a cannula up his nose at altitude and would probably be sleeping like a baby at 8000 without it. And where is the Bourbon locker? That aircraft is for the working people.
Super cool video Ryan! That new 900 is a BEAST! That being said, the 100 is totally STOL and for bringing barrels of diesel to remote villages, or transporting obese Eskimos, it's PERFECT!
That’s a beautiful aircraft. Ryan, use your influence to force MSFS to immediately create this aircraft in the flight sim, the only chance for most of us to fly it. No pressure
Keep these video’s coming Ryan, that, really, was interesting
That's a beautiful plane! Now I kinda wish I had the money to be able to fly a plane like that haha! I hope there's a possibility some day of you getting in the left seat and taking a Kodiak 900 for a test flight, I'd love to see footage of the plane actually flying!
I am glad they kept the 100 and just added the 900. The Daher web page says 1015 foot takeoff roll for the 900 taking it about 50 feet more than the 100, however an 1800 foot plus would be a lot more comfortable!! Thank-you Ryan. I did not even know they were working on building the 900! I wonder if they could work on the 100 a bit now and see if some of the things like Roberson STOL and leading edge slots can get the 100 off the ground in say 650 feet for a goal........
Congrats on this brand new aircraft! Absolutely impressive, that's Kodiak! ✈️👌
Refreshing to see engineering benefit the user more than the manufacturer. Well done!
Wow that was sharp. Very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Ryan good to see you
Wow what a great video
Love the Kodak 900
Best wishes always from Las Vegas Craig
This video 5 out of 5 stars
I’m sharing it now
Bravo 👏🏻
That was cool! Thank you Ryan. God bless you and yours!
Thank you for another very interesting video. I am not a pilot but I loved hearing the details and comparison with the 100 version. All the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Very plesant this Kodiak salesguy and good presentation 👍
Thanks for the show & tell on the 900! Looks like a nice plane.
Great to hear an honest comparison on the short & rough field performance of the 900 vs. the 100.
It would be great if they can get you some time flying the 900 so we hear your side of the plane (taking Blancoliro and/or Flight Chops with you for a giggle).
Very impressive. 👍
Outstanding,
Imagine the -900 engine put into the -100. Now that would be quite the STOL monster.
Great video, Ryan.
Thank you for the video! Pretty Bird for sure!
Looking great 👍🏼
Brilliant comparison, really intresting to see the side by side values. You did great here !
I think I've fallen in love😍😍😍😍. A greeting from Spain😀
Those are two beautiful men. Great info on this aircraft.
Excellent video. . Many thanks Ryan
Good video and representatives review of it all. A dream machine for most of us!
Great vid thanks
Great comparison of the two planes. Thanks for doing this video. Wished I could have seen you in Oshkosh. 🙏
Nice Plane New Kodiak 900
good to see you again Ryan
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing Ryan.
Nice!
God bless you in your mission. Salute you. Love your bush mountain taxi . We will remember you , your love to us
Got to catch them all!
Love this new content! I think Ryan is going to be brand ambassador for Daher TBM Kodiaq!
See if you can grab the keys to a TBM 960 and take it for a spin!
Very nice!
Nice!!
Lovely plane. I hope it's a success.
Great video! My favorite videos are from pilots like yourself who are extremely familiar with the aircraft series they are reviewing.
@@MissionaryBushPilot Ryan: I know you are part of a church mission group. If anyone in the world of aviation is qualified to demo a Kodak for a company like Daher, it’s you! Since you are back in the United States for a while, maybe a career change should be considered? You could become a UA-cam personality who works for a company like Textron and Captain Mindy. She’s one of their demo pilots and also has her own personal channel. You could still support your mission in life while being a demo pilot for Kodak, with experiences most pilots never, ever come with by flying.
@@paulkluber164 How about chief training pilot for Kodiak. This dude has set his Kodiak down in every imaginable landing strip you can think of...and some you'd never think of!
Thanks Ryan, enjoy ur days
Nice looking bird👍
great video ryan
Cool plane love to see them flying in Papua new Guinea 🇵🇬
I didn't realize there was so much demand for a high end, unpressurized, non-retractable turbine.
I know of a Dr here of UA-cam that flies a 100 for his personal aircraft
It's a lot cheaper to run and insure than a RG, Pressurized aircraft, and more rugged. I would think the ideal market would be Alaska, and 2nd World, 3rd World commercial bush ops, and Christian mission work.
Looks like a great plane to fly. But my time as a Line Tech knows that single point refueling location will make it hard to get the hose connected.
I was so excited to see you make this video. I watched a few of their videos the other day and was wondering what you thought about it.
very interesting, thank you for sharing !
Very cool aircraft
Ryan, it was great to see both you and Mark Brown together discussing the Kodiac 100 and 900 aircraft. The Kodiac 900 looks really impressive, but I still favor the 100. Hopefully you got a video of the new Kodiac 100. Great video, thanks Ryan.
Same here,, and what's more, I don't really see the added value and market positioning of the 900.... Looks to me they're trying to come up with a mix between a PC12 and a Cessna Caravan, between an executive plane and a bush cargo plane... The added "luxury" and slightly improved performance in cruise and climb speeds doesnt' make up in my view for the lost STOL and grass/mud strip landing capabilities of the 100... But I suppose they have clients ind emande for this type of plane, otherwise they woulnd't have invested in development?
Loved this video. Hope that someone will bring this airplane to Xplane and MSFS with all configuration including floats. My favorite airplane in msfs is the Kodiak 100 by far. Its realistic loadou ang weigh and balance feature make's it a one of a kind.
Hi Ryan, good to see you, hope all is well.
Cool Wantok👍🇵🇬
Very cool Ryan...thanks for sharing! How's your stateside time been going?
That's a nice airplane.
Probably would also make a nice air ambulance platform.
I would love a 900 and would most likely would not want to take it into anything shorter than 2000 ft. I also would not regularly use the full useful load but would use it semi often hauling things into my property that don't require a dually and trailer. Hell I dont know, maybe a 100 and a 960. I have seen a TBM 940 on a grass strip with no issues but it was a manicured, dry grass strip of I think 4 thousand feet and a professional pilot. I don't think I would risk it with a 960 though. These 900 are so nice though. Decisions decisions. Thank you and be safe.
Great I will go buy this tomorrow I guess 😛😛
US3.5 million seems very well priced. Lovely aircraft
It was good to catch up with you at Oshkosh.
That's nice I was honestly like who's this guy haven't ever seen you not in your flight shirt 🤣
Don't know if they upgrade the 100 year to year, but many of the features on the 900 would be GREAT on the 100.
The caravan-killa !!
Ahhh was wondering if you were at Oshkosh when EAA livestrean went by the 900 but they should've made Ryans Checklist box as standard equipment 😉
Wow, they are realy competing with the Grand Caravan now !
Awesome aircraft, the guy gave a great sales pitch, at only 3.5 mil, I'm thinking about purchasing one.....still thinking......still thinking, lol, joking apart, great vid and very informative..Cheers
Would like to have heard the operating cost per/hr between the 900 vs.100.
Wont take long and these will be in Bahamas in no time.. great little island hoppers..
I would make everybody wipe their feet before getting in, haha.
Just a thought: Did they know you from UA-cam? Great video, thanks for that. It's amazing what they changed - little things, but very well chosen.
Yes, a few of the guys there have watched my content over the years.
Ryan would you be able to land the 900 at a majority of the strips at PNG ?
I didn't know that Susi Air was big enough in the world turboprop aircraft market because so far, Susi Air does have a large fleet, but it's on pioneer flights and bush flight too in indonesia
Thought Long Bach Nguyen was the prime training pilot?
I was hoping you'd do something about the new 900 since you are at Oshkosh.
the 900 seems well worth the additional $500k for the performance and features
Executive version??? Where is the table to put a laptop or electronics?
Nice! -- QUESTION -- Can you get floats on the 900 like on the 100? We like to land on water when possible..
Hey buddy, hope you're doing well back in the USA. I'm sure you were thinking which strips in PNG are out of range for the 900. Hope the Sim will have it soon too.
@@MissionaryBushPilotPilot's math vs guts. Kodiak must have done their home work in choosing this engine for their type of clients.
Very nice. How does it compare to take off and landing distances compared to Grand Caravan?
MBP, pity we did not see the cockpit, but it maybe FADEC ? Like I said before, not sure the difference justify your needs in PNG, I notice few aircraft are doing SINGLE POINT REFUELLING
QUICK TURNAROUND , good to see you there at OSHKOSH, , everyday,,I check the flights, ,,on 3 different sites, take care God Bless, 🇵🇬🇵🇬🇺🇸🇺🇸
Is there anything you did with your K100 in PNG that you won't be able to do with this K900?
Dunno, maybe some of those airstrip were too short, or too muddy for the weight of this plane, or anything?
I wonder if you will get to take the 900 for a test flight? That would be excellent! God bless.
G,day Captain Ryan from Sydney Australia.
She a sweet bird, that's for sure.
What price for the KIAS?
🌏🇦🇺
Seen this a couple of weeks ago. I was getting ready to ask if you had seen it, and what you think of it. And did you get a demo flight of it at oshkosh. Hope you did.
25,000 ft and still unpressurized? It will be quite hard to fly that high though, isn't it? Or have they an option to add a pressurization to this aircraft?
Love that plane, but gotta have a better warranty service. Which where cessna beats them hands down. Specially that these places goes to extreme places.
Airplane shopping are we Ryan? Envy the climb rate of the 900 but definately not the runway required for PNG conditions. The AOA could be useful for your 100 when you are coming in at 60KIAS. For an exec plane with 20% better cruise speed, half a million difference is not too bad.
Michael.
Wow, what a gr8 plane. Don't U just want to fly it right now??
All they need to do now is put the 900hp engine on the Kodiak 100.
They should have let you put it through its paces Ryan, no better test pilot😉 Now where did I stash my $3.5 million🤣 Very nice aircraft, great coverage Ryan👌
Will you do a video for non-Patreon people telling us what you are doing in the US, how your family are doing and such things?
Now, can you hotrod the 100 with the 900's engine to lift your overall performance? That would be cool.
hi great vid just wondering if you have any flight plans the same as your runs, for a flight simulator thanks.
Probably a difference training.
That extra landing distance is huge for what PNG has to offer.
Just my opinion after watching all the previous videos.
Yes I have almost 100 sim flights on my patreon page. www.patreon.com/MissionaryBushPilot
Under the commercial tier
I need this plane
How does that compare to a Cessna caravan?
What do people do. For a living to be able to buy one of those?
I'm pretty sure this plane stopped for fuel in killdeer ND
Oh man, I wish I had known you were there, we would have loved to meet you in person. I'm a pastor from VA (not a pilot) and have been watching your videos for about a year. This was our first time at Oshkosh. My oldest son is 17 and finishing his Private this month. He is also finishing his AP hrs this year to sit for the exams next summer when he graduates HS. He is very interested in mission's aviation and spoke to JAARS, ETHNOS, ALASKA, MAF, and several others. Would have loved to get your input in many areas of mission aviation. Great video! Keep up the good work!
Yeah that would have been nice to meet. I'm planning on doing some traveling next spring. Maybe we could hook up then
