@@AmitMandal-rg1rj , big fan of rahat. but ghalib poetry match up only with jagjit singh. Every singer had their own type of voice. Rahat saab voice suits only with qabbali or high note songs. In low note, rahat voice sounds not soothing.

Nostalgia hit me badly today and I found this gem to beat that.
Jagjit g was the only who kept Mirza Ghalib alive in its true spirit and sadly we have lost them both.

Every word of a gazal speaks itself.Never listened speaking words except in Jagjeet’s voice. Jagjeet is un parralall in in all aspects,be it words,emotions,cadance,music.He carried everything to its perfection.WE LOVE U JAGJEET N MISS U TOO.
Mirza Ghalib and Jagjitsingh are uncommonly common men. Everybody can relate them with themselves. Feeling of proud and self esteem.
Ghalib’s poetry is breathtaking for those who truly understand Urdu. He was a rebel when it came to following religion but was blessed as he mentioned himself that he receives his poetry from up above.
I agree with one of the writer that we should have had Jagjit and him in the same era but we had Taan Saien at that time too. Bottomline both of them are legends

There’s many Ghazal singers but, it will be difficult to find some one who can be as good as Jagit Singh . He is no longer with us but, we will never forget of all what he sung .Every Ghazal sung by Jagit will stay with us for ever . Wish his family all the best .

I remember how thrilled and star-struck I was to attend Jagjit's concert in the Palace in Baroda as a student more than 20 years ago. I will never forget that all-night show! He touched so many hearts with his voice all his life.
