@@BasementGamerBros Hey, love your videos but I have a question: on the beta hunt in GTA Forums a cut mission was found where Charles and Arthur would've disguised in military attire to free a bunch of Indians from a reformed school or military camp and I was thinking what those were originally located on the beta location of Iron Cloud and is that theory plausible or does it not make sense at all with the location's geography.
The iron cloud concept art looks a lot like an area I found just outside the map in tempest rim directly above and between chez porter and the uppermost area of whinyard strait. It has an oddly flat/clear area surrounded by boulders and rock walls. I’ve always thought there was supposed to be a camp there. It also could be that odd dead end canyon area northwest of cattail pond.
@@boogie2025also 2 years later tempest rim was suppose to led to colter since original the game had a prologue in black water so it’s believed when chapter 1 started in that old build of the game u go use tempest to travel in an out the mountains likely a alternate route to valentine
I'm pretty sure I have read somewhere (Arthur's journal) that the gang was in the Grizzlies before the Blackwater camp. So maybe Iron Cloud was the camp that they used to use in the Grizzlies? With that theory the games story could have predated months before the Blackwater massacre. Edit: Thanks for the favourite Basement Gamer Bros
I remember that too, only I think it said that they were in the western foothills of the Grizzlies (probably outside of the map), whereas Iron Cloud is in the eastern Grizzlies
I think Iron Cloud is a landmarker for the foot of the mountain, and its likely that some sort of camp was there (possibly a camp of the Van Der Linde gang, but I think its more likely that it had some sort of connection to the Native American side story, since it seemed like that part of the game was supposed to be much longer and have more content in it)
That artwork reminds me of that place where you recover Rain Fall's stolen supplies from a group of armymen - the mission where you get the owl talosman if you are are non-lethal. Maybe the military camp was in Iron Cloud originally? IIRC the camp spot in that mission is empty every other time, although I haven't played the game for half a year now so I'm not sure. Edit: Perhaps the unmarkes native hut on the mountains that gets burned down was connected to Iron Cloud - but that's just a guess.
I have recently gotten into IT business. Things like these where stuff gets cut, reimagined and repurposed, happen all the time. And the thought process never goes further than questions "does it help us" and "do we have time for it". I love to see people overthinking the hell out of it. It makes a simple corporate decision very few people put actual thought into a sort of historical treasure hunt. It's amazing
so the snowy mountains were planned to be top right and eventually changed to top left but it seems that the parts like iron cloud that were cut still have a trace on the current map
Iron cloud sounds like the color to me, dark silver/black almost. Like smoke, so much it looked like a cloud. So maybe like a mining camp...like annesberg? But maybe it was too out of place, so they combined them into a single town.
I think that you should make more of these videos, I love to watch rdr2 beyond boundaries stuff. I mean, like how it looks like behind Teepee mountain it would be awesome, keep it up!

Love ur rdr2 vid been exploring out of bounds stuff myself just with that dumb bridge launch glitch it’s really interesting and sad at the same time the game could have been a bit better than it already is
I wonder if it was another native settlement or maybe the original spot that wapiti was supposed to be. The name definitely sounds too native to not be related.
I’m thinking that Iron Cloud was actually a camp. A camp in the grizzlies where the van der Linde gang camped. Why I have this idea you say ? Well as we know the gang camped somewhere near blackwater and blah blah blah but Sam houser told that there was cut content from the game which means the blackwater stuff was actually going to be in the game. Now the main stuff is that in Arthur’s journal you can find a writing that says before blackwater they came somewhere from the grizzlies which means that the game was actually going to start in iron cloud camp…
Nah it don't add up since if you check the beta map and look at the legend icons you'll see that it has icons listed as camp hideouts/caravans and if you look at the map you'll find the icons where the final game has the gang camps at including some cut ones like the slaughterhouse and dewberry creek most likely iron cloud was gonna be an indian camp or reservation
saying that there was cut content from the game doesnt mean the blackwater stuff was actually going to be in the game. It means there was content cut from the game and we dont know what that is
@@joekreissl4499 Agreed, I personally never believed the "cut Blackwater prologue/opening" theory tbh, especially when the leaked 2016 map indicates pretty clearly that even as the game was being developed Colter was the intended intro.

Iron Cloud, to me sounds like what native Indian would call a UFO landing site.
You’re right
@Paulo Hernanndizz honestly, I believe that iron cloud was gonna be a location where you could see a UFO
As a Native American, Iron Cloud sounds like a name a chief would have.
