Thank you
Thank you for uploading this.
I use the WaveBlade with my Yamaha TG77 and it has proven to be be a very valuable addition to that synthesizer.
It is worth mentioning that if you would like to create your own .BIN files for the SY/TG range of instruments with your own custom samples; then you will need to obtain the SY Factory software from X Factory. This is a librarian programme that works in conjunction with the WaveBlade.
Hi, I am preparing a video already for creating custom .bin files with x.factory. Also, I plan on doing a video where I show how to dump .bin files using realterm.
OMG THIS IS AMAZING!!!
This is FANTASTIC. I'm sure I would have been lost. Very very helpful video. I'm very new to my TG77 and am still learning to navigate it. The waveblade is something I'm very interested in.
I'm glad you find it helpful. Maybe you'll find the part 2 video (live now) interesting as well.
Thank you for sharing this link and very interesting and helpful video. I own the Yamaha SY77 for a couple of weeks now.
Does this Waveblade programmer also work with the TG500?
I M SEARCHING FOR ONE..
Can you use the waves with the FM synthesis of the SY77?
I think you cannot use the samples as FM operator waveforms, but you can use the samples for sample-based modulation (what Yamaha called RCM back then) in AFM synthesis. But I'm not entirely sure.
The sample waveforms on the WaveBlade behave exactly as the samples in a Yamaha waveform ROM expansion card or SY/TG77/99 internal sample ROM. So, you can use them for AWM2 synthesis (essentially PCM subtractive) and/or RCM synthesis (FM-PCM hybrid interactive).
The WaveBlade samples cannot be used as AFM synthesis waveforms, as those (16 types) are not sample-based.
Where can i buy one of these cards ?
Try googling sector101 waveblade. It's easy to find. It's a single person creating these cards as a side project.
One thing I noticed on my system and it took me a few minutes to figure this out: When I went in to PROGRAM 1S and selected the file, I paused for a few moments, then loaded the file and gave me a whole bunch of errors. You have to notice when selecting the file to upload that the Binary box on the bottom of the dialog is checked - it then works error free. Took me a few times to notice that, but would well be worth the mention. It's on Page 37 of the manual. Once it is initially checked it will remain, but the first time it is not automatically checked (at least on my system). Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!
