I don't think i can name a trainer more responsible for CREATING a champion than kenny porter, Shawn (who i'm a huge fan of) never had his heart in boxing (he wanted to be a pro football player). Kenny litterally MADE porter take up boxing. He (kenny) doesn't get the credit he deserves imo
After he talked about his son the way he did after the Crawford fight I couldn't care less about what he has to say.
This fight is a great test for both guys. Tank has great footwork, head movement, timing that gets overlooked by his power. But some people feel he hasn’t proven himself yet, so if he beats ryan, people will say he’s the real deal, no more doubts, people use to say he’ll get outboxed by haney, if he beats ryan they’re gonna favor him to beat haney and a fight with shakur would be 50/50

He was right saving his son from a brutal stoppage against Bud. The writing was on the wall. He was wrong after the fight, throwing his son under the bus and blaming everything on Shawn and his preparation for why he lost, but it was all great pre-fight. That's what fathers and coaches who have narcissistic tendencies do. They are never wrong and controlling to a fault. Listen, how he spins everything back to how great he is and what he did. When narcs are articulate and intelligent, it's hard to tell sometimes. Coaches like him are more about getting attention and glory for themselves when they should be all about the fighter. I grew up around many narcs so to me, they stick out like a sore thumb, whether grandiose or covert they always seek attention. When they are religious, it makes it even worse. He ticks every box on the narcissistic tendency checklist. Many successful professionals are like this.
