@@Gorlami14 checking old comments and realized I did this just the other night. Pulled what seemed like a full squad at least about 150 meters away from their defense point with half our team approaching from a different direction
An SL from one of my first matches reccomended your channel to me when I was first starting out, and since then your content has only helped me to improve more and more. Any chance of an Engineer/Sapper guide sometime in the near future?
That's awesome to hear! I'm glad I've been able to help you out and I hope I can continue to do so! Definitely will be making an engineer/sapper guide in the future!
Engie is basically a role i reccomend to new players bc it is pretty straight forward. Fun role. I loooove tossing multiple c4s on a hab and radio then driving away
Also, just another tip. When ferrying troops to cap points or points of interest, sometimes SLs will advise you on where to land. I've learned that after 450 hours, its better to make the landing call for yourself rather than rely on intel from a different SL. Some SLs are just worried about dropping FOBs and Habs to help the team, without thinking of the consequences of the helicopter after touching down. What I do, if its safe to do so, is do a quick pass on the landing zone to check for infantry, vehicles and habs, that way I know I am cleared to land. Sometimes, command chat will be silent, so other SLs won't mark up or call out vehicles, TOWS, infantry etc.
Loved the guide, it is very thorough. I’d say that if you have 2 gunners and are trying to suppress a specific point like one farm building in a field, it can be effective. It is rare to be sure. My favorite thing is flying over enemy objectives and drawing their fire while a squad sneaks in a flank. As long as there are no vehicles or guided AT it’s fairly safe as only the US HAT can 1 shot a heli unless you suffer a tail or main rotor hit... but surviving a tail rotor hit is one of the most fun experiences as a pilot.
Thank you! Yeah they can be useful at times when you can swap from side to side, but unless my team is rolling its usually not the best use of my time. It's so funny to draw all the small arms fire in a flyover and then your teammates get to catch them with their pants down!
There is also a high risk high reward play I call the “super hot drop” when you know the location of an enemy HAB. If you can pick up a squad and dump them ~100-200 meters from the enemy HAB in good cover from a direct line of sight on the HAB. It is very risky but so awesome when it works.
Might have to try this sometime. Definitely one of the riskier maneuvers, but could be great as a last ditch effort to take out a HAB that's been a thorn in the side of your team.
When Aiming the Helicopter Side Guns- Do they hold relative physics to the heli? If you shoot do they have momentum carried from the helicopter so you must aim to the side to account for the speed of the heli carrying the shots sideways?
im super late to this, dont know why it just got recommended to me but my one tip is DONT PRACTICE ADVANCED MANOUVERS ON JENSONS RANGE SINGLE PLAYER. the physics on single player jensons are wrong compared to live servers, instead go into an empty server and practice there. cheers
Thank you! I use all default settings. Only things I changed was my pitch and roll sensitivity to 1.5 and then bound my unload build and unload ammo to 1 and 2 respectively.
This is THE BEST helicopter video I've seen for Squad! AMAZING video buddy! As a heli pilot in Squad too, I"m actually going to recommend new pilots to watch this video! :) Fuck it, I'm going to do one better as this video was so awesome - I'm going to link this video in my live stream video description! :D I do ALL of your tips :P
would you like to see Helis on almost all maps at some point? or do you think for maps like Falljah and narva would be to risky and they would get stuck to easily? also would love to see a squad sever edicate guide, pretty much just letting new players know what to expect when first joining and what to look out for on servers
I think some maps could be made better by the addition of choppers, but what I'd really like to see is for the urban maps like Fallujah is mini-birds instead of their larger transport counterparts. I actually have the script half written for an etiquette guide, I just don't know when I'm planning on finishing it.
OMG man...you and I as a team of pilots on a round would be amazing content! :D What server are you normally on? I am normally on LIQ, BB, RWR, or IB. I'd love to fly with you someday :)
It'd be great if people actually used construction supplies to fortify the fobs

7:12 yes! I love setting up a ghost fob to make enemies think they’re getting attacked from a different direction. It’s a galaxy brain play.
Especially when you see your infantry walk onto the point! Fly away with a shit eating grin on your face knowing you duped the enemies.

@@MrSuperiorTech Heck yeah dude! That's awesome!
I binded my observe mark to my mouse button. My life has gotten so much easier since that.
Its such a nice QOL improvement!
Ya I don’t use the T menu any more for placing orders. “Move to my observe mark, build this hab on my observe, enemy infantry on observe” lol

Watching these helped me with Battlebit Remastered flying. Thanks for the pointers!
Watched both videos on this after today’s earlier game where we all died of laughter over my landing skills lol the j hook will be mastered soon
Haha it all takes time. There's hundreds of heli carcasses laying around Squad from when I was trying to learn to fly.
That’s where I’m at now. I feel like I’m back in flight school honestly.
Thanks for posting this series!
Glad I could help you out!
good guide, a few points I haven't thought of before, especially the front resupply fob
Thank you! Yeah sometimes there's too many tows or vics with a taste for choppers, so better to stay further back and stay safe.
@@Gorlami14 and sometimes you are pretty far back and have your tail rotor taken of by a lucky tank shot.... still salty
This was amazing! Thanks for the helpful video as always Gorlami!

These videos are awesome man! Keep up the excellent work!
usually at the start, when a squad asks me to give them a ride. i usually decline, but i hope, one day ill be able to bring them anywhere
Holy fuck i didnt knew that! thats a life saver 1:10
Nice work
Thank you!
thank you for the tips someday i will be learning to fly once i learn the game more
Thanks dude! It's a blast once you get the hang of things!

Do you use the base key binds when flying? I have tried toying around with them but haven’t found anything I like yet. Excellent guide btw!

@@Gorlami14 the mini birds is a great idea, I hear the steel division minis are pretty cool
Changing the layer from training just makes you stuck in staging phase since there are no other players.

Thank you!
That's really awesome guide. But when I join games - SLs are mostly quiet and don't respond/coordinate.
You forgot to mention a fun bored tactic. Using your blades to kill infantry in open fields. 😆
When i go into the maps to practice flight the helis dont spawn, how do i make them spawn?
when changing layers to the exact one in your video, no helis spawn.. am i missing something?

I don't know why but I'm good at low altitude flying but I suck at landing even tho I spend most of my time practising landing
You just have to play / practice.
Everything IS about Time.
I play SQUAD since 2016 and thousant jours of flight
The Sqaud devs have an unhealthy obsession with flying from the ghetto co pilots seat
What are you talking about? The lead pilot is right seat.
I feel we should rename ATTACK FOB, to COMMANDO FOB. Since the name allows newbies to keep their ass quite and not to draw to much attention.
Chopper 9000
It's a shame that helicopters are so shit in this game. I cant' make myself want to learn to fly them. Great video tho
Honestly as a former army helicopter pilot, they’re pretty spot on for a game.
