      I’m at 0:42 , but I’m hoping the 99:1 male/female vaults aren’t a part of it.

    Unsolicited assurance, but I don't think you have to worry about you or your companions turning into one of those Spore Dwellers despite repeated visits to Vault 22 (the sidequests can have you visiting that godforsaken place at least three times!). The spores most likely affect only unmutated humans, that is Vault Dwellers that never visited the surface and never been affected by the environmental radiation. In that sense, the Courier is safe, other humans like Boone, Cass and even Veronica is safe since they spend most of their time on the surface. The only playable character that is "chip" outta luck is the Vault Dweller from Fallout 1, and he's well beyond such danger by then.
