In footballing terms I can't see how Barça are #1 for 17-22... they won the league title in 17/18 and 18/19.. reached UCL.. Copa del Rey in 2021. Milan and Liverpool stayed between 6th and 9th for years during their rebuild before they got back to the top. United finished outside top 4 multiple times as well. Many people overlook how increasingly competitive La Liga has gotten with Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Sociedad and Betis having strong teams.. it's commendable that in Barça's worst period financially they haven't fell below 3rd since.
As with Man United, the cracks don't show as the great players or coaches that are still there propel the team to continued greatness. Man United won two more titles after the sell of Ronaldo but most of their new signings flopped and it only showed after Ferguson left. In Barca's case, Messi, Suarez, Pique, etc were still elite so flops didn't have much effect on the team so they still won La Liga twice but eventually, it caught up to them and now, look at the sorry state of what was once the strongest and richest club in the world.
@@franzreyes846 my point is they still consistently remain in the UCL spots in a league that's getting more competitive every season, Atleti, Sevilla, Betis and Sociedad spend decent amounts bringing proper players in every summer.. last season most pundits said Barça would finish 5th and they finished 4th. Can't compare that to United who only get UCL once in a while these days, and Liverpool or Milan who missed out on Europe for years.
Barca is easily #1 and its not even close. sure they have still had some success on the pitch but at the cost of going nearly 2 billion in debt and having to sell off large percentages of tv rights just to be able to register free transfers.
