Cleaning my moldy mini fridge

- Ahh 😌 one of the areas I’ve been blindly ignoring.
This mini fridge served us great for a good almost 3 years but we haven’t used it since the twins stopped taking bottles at night which was right before their second birthday. They unplugged it so it’s just been sitting there and by the time I thought to look into it, it was too late 🤢
I’ve been wanting to repurpose it for their pre breakfast snacks so it’s finally time!
Btw I filmed this back in October and just now got around to editing/posting it 🙈 I was gonna get to it but then we took our trip to Mexico and then my husband broke his arm, and then the holidays, and so on…
I have been using it to store some drinks for the twins in the morning but will be turning it into a mini breakfast bar now.

@@zosiag4287 no it doesn't. Im graduating with my bachelors in biological science this year. I've put mold under a microscope and tested again bleach, ammonia, "antibacterial sprays", vinegar, and every time there is always at least a few spores left. The only thing that works is peroxide.

Because bleach is mainly water and when it dries it leaves behind sooooo much moisture and will cause unaffected areas around it to mold as well

So here’s what some people don’t know if you switch off any fridge put a fridge magnet between the door and fridge to keep it open just a touch so it won’t grow mould obviously if you have an unused one in a garage that’s plugged out , for child safety reasons you can’t leave the doors ajar but I recommend taking the doors off and propping them behind the fridge .
You're supposed to turn it off, put a towel down to catch any water from defrosting, let it sit with the door open. If you leave it closed it'll mold

The melted ice/frost in the fridge is probably what grew the mold. I reccomend moving it to ensure there’s no water damage on the carpet 😊

Especially that much mold. It takes typically a lot of time to grow unless its on things like food.
You could put snacks and drinks in it or put all of your skincare in it❤
A good apb for cleaning is isopropyl alcohol and a couple drops of dish soap, you can use that on any hard surfaces except wood. It sterilizes and gives a wonderful shine, I learned that from western cleaning services on youtube

Rubbing Alcohol helps to destroy mold and bacteria and prevents it to grow back as bad😊
I would use not just bleach on it, and the inside needs to be really scrubbed, not just wiped

putting bleach directly on the mold brings up the chemicals in side of it what i suggest is that next time clean it with soap and water then with the bleach
