      John was a atheist he was smart enough not to believe everyone that says anything

    • @srunequester66
      @srunequester66 8 років тому +1

      No, that was a passing thing, his atheism. In Mind Games, he sang in one song, I think it was "I know (I Know)", "Everyday, I thank the Lord and Lady, for the way you came to me." John was changable from one period to another. Usually, nobody changed him, but him, with the possible exception of Yoko.

      He was smart enough to deny God/Jesus. That sounds pretty wise to me. Me, myself and I are god.

    • @srunequester66
      @srunequester66 7 років тому +2

      In the album "Mind Games" he sang "Every day I thank The Lord and Lady, for the way you came to me." I think it was in the song 'Out the Blue". John was changeable, as long as it wasn't someone else trying to change him.

    What a class act. I read your book Cynthia. It was very sad. I think a lot of hesitation went into reliving the details of such a painful past. It definitely made my opinion of John drop quite a bit. But next to the troll, you are the queen of England! I remember as a child thinking there was something wrong with John whenever he was w/Yuko. Like he was under a spell of some sort--that is the truth! To this day, I truly believe there was something evil involved w/that psycho's obsession w/John. The fact that he was unable to escape her clutches was almost eerie...the saddest thing to me is poor Julian not having access to his dad's thoughts-especially about how he felt for his son. No doubt the troll has long since burned them. Julian is lovely--the picture of you 2 leaving your home after John's exit made me cry. So very sad. I am glad you have a happy life now!

    Fascinating interview. I remember Yoko Ono in London at an event when audience took turns to cut off parts of her clothing. Yes it was the sixties but I DO remember. I always preferred Cynthia but with a name like that I would do. She has maintained her dignity throughout which is admirable. Respect.

    Cynthia made am interesting comparison between John and Julian. Johns mom left then was killed, Julians father left then was killed. Both were becoming close to the parent, then lost forever. Trajic

    Ill never understand why people go on and on over this incident.. John was in pain during his young years..I mean Cynthia also understood he couldnt handle his alcohol.. I forgive him and so did Cynthia and so should everyone else... Just because she wrote that in the book didnt say anything else negativea bout him.

    Is this about the book "a twist of Lennon" by "Cynthia lennon-twist"? because she did write other books about John/the beatles

    • @thestr8person
      @thestr8person 8 років тому

      Okay so I just heard the 1st part of this interview and "a twist of Lennon" was written in the 1970's so she's obviously talking about another book here and not being entirely honest. I believe I've seen about 3 books she's written about John in her life but there could be many more, I'm not all that interested tbh.

    I think Cynthia make John out as real and it kind of irks those who idealized John. She was good for him, and so was Julian. John was just a man and had to do what was good for himself. It was his life to live and he cherished having a life.
    I'm just glad that he seemed like he was real about things and not just pretending to be important.

    When I got divorced I kept my husband's name because I had that name for years, and had got used to it. I hadn't been the previous name since my early 20s and it would have felt strange going back to it. It isn't a woman's fault they have to change their name, so nobody should tell them if they can keep it or not.

    For the life of me I just cannot understand why he left this beautiful classy lady and his son who looks just like him, for the hideous little drip. Some people have gotten upset when I tell them that I believe John would still be with us if he had stayed with Cynthia, or at least alot longer than he was. Cynthia was John's true soulmate and was with him before he was rich and famous. I love the music John Lennon gave us while he was here, but I sure don't like how he treated Cynthia

    John dumped his wife and son. Hey, he was worse than his own father. They make a big deal about his loving Yoko and Shawn. He deserted his first family. Poor Julian.
    Look at John, his look, his drug taking, his music, life, after he met Yoko! All down hill! His best work was done when he was with Cynthia and the Beatles.

      Quo, I grew up with the Beatles. Unlike you, I didn't have to read books written by people who never knew them in order to know about them.
      Are you OK? A.D.D.? I never said that John didn't do drugs during the Beatles career.

    Jealous, possessive, agressive towards women (to his own wife/wives) and other, egocentrical, used drugs, drank a bit, ignored his responsability as a father, yes I think women nowadays would like a man like that.
    I know he wasn't perfect, no one is, but c'mon, why the fuck do people think this guy was in the same level as world leaders/ activists????
    Everything I hear about him just makes me think he was your average Joe with a bad temper that actually made it into a famous band. Made 1 or 2 great songs, beyond that, Paul, George and Ringo contributed at least 10x more than him in the Beatles. His luck was actually living in the hippie times, since he probably was the most famous of them all.

    • @lorilesage8088
      @lorilesage8088 9 років тому

      Cristiano Pretty sure John wrote the majority of the songs. At the time...he displayed "hippie, egocentrial" type thinking and ways. A mover and a shaker. This is the reason for his popularity. He was on the cutting edge.

    • @lorilesage8088
      @lorilesage8088 9 років тому

      Cristiano "From the very beginnings of the Beatles Paul McCartney and John Lennon decided to publish their songs under both their names. So all their songs bear the cooperative hallmark "Lennon / McCartney". But, some songs were more Lennon's work, while others more exclusively show the hand of McCartney."

      +JNagarya you don't know what I know I've forgotten more about The Beatles than what you actually know, and they were the flagship of the hippy movement If you look closely at John Lennon's life you will see he has family in Rock Ferry, Wirral. Which is down the road from me.

    W O R K I N G C L A S S H E R O
    A Villanelle by Alan Collins. July 1982.
    For Cynthia Lennon.
    I lost my mind the day this mad world murdered Lennon.
    They didn’t like his magical mystery tour but wage slaves like me -
    We knew you John, we understood, but now you’re gone.
    Radios of the world de-jayed your voice from every station.
    You and your three mates made the 60’s seem revolutionary -
    I lost my mind the day this sad world murdered Lennon.
    Driven by love's daemon too you sang for every nowhere man.
    You moulded your mercurial heart into each magic melody -
    We knew you John, we understood, but now you’re gone.
    In all your songs - yeah! yeah! yeah! - in each and every one
    I heard your truth, beauty and goodness, until like Eleanor Rigby =
    I lost my mind the day this bad world murdered Lennon.
    What happened to the life that you once knew with lovely Cyn?
    Of all your friends & lovers there was no one compared with she -
    I lost my mind the day this lad's world murdered Lennon.
    You found your soul-mate equally disillusioned with Mammon.
    You joined her head-banging stunts and did that John Sinclair LP =
    I knew you John, we disagreed about drugs, but now you’re gone.
    "All you need is love. Love is all you need.” You sang on, and on, and on,
    But watching you chew gum on satellite t.v. is what made me feel free -
    I lost my mind the day the CIA murdered John Lennon.
    They knew you, John, they understood, so now you’re gone!

    Yeah it hard to hear one of your hero's.was a mess and I understand those who still defend him and what he and the Beatles did for music. As a kid, we/I perceived a hero as one who could never do wrong. One you want to emulate
    because of what he/they represented. Now that 50 years have passed and all the history that's been written. It's difficult for the die-hard Beatle fan to dismiss his actions as John Lennon the person. As one person who was a big fan. I`m disappointed.

      milestoneman: I was there too..and admired them all. They were only human, some did better than the others. John fell over his own self/ego/need to find "mommy" and that was that. He could have been a man and stayed with his family, but like so many other's let his own troubles pull him from his REAL life, into something dark and negative. He broke the heart of Cynthia and lost his son, Julian, who needed him. He let Yoko take the reigns...once again....the need for "mommy" overshadowed being his own man.
