My wife and I talked about a life similar to this but here in Alabama. Now cancer has taken her and I'm too old. Your videos are great and I enjoy watching them.
Wow. Who could watch this and not fall in love with all you've built. This is the 1st time I've watched a 35 minute video with no talking. I could not help but watch and smile because I could see you worked hard but also you enjoy and love what you've accomplished. Blessings to you and Norman.
This video is so cozy and wonderful that I grabbed a blanket and made a cup of tea. All because of your video there is not a whole lot of videos that make a person do that.
I so agree and I live in sunny Florida. It's about 76 degrees, and the AC is on. But I'm about to make a cup of hot chocolate and watch this while wrapped up in my favorite blanky 🍫☕ .
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video especially when the dog is always around and happy and content reminds me of my German shepherd tilly she's in the kitchen whenever I'm preparing for food 😊 and before each meal my dog will cover her eyes with her paws as I say grace outloud and then she looks up after and I say let's eat
With the possibility of getting fried here, Dr House got of grid? ;) MAN you are a look alike! The snow falling, always when the first snow arrive, i get outside, down my knees, closing my eyes and listening to the faint sound of those flakes falling down. The smell, the sound, the silence.. It is one of the epic nature moments of the year. Thank you for sharing, so well produced and filmed!
I'm new to your channel. I can see the hard work and craftsmanship you put into your cabin, plus it looks like you have a lovely piece of property! I really appreciate the shakes on the peaks outside, plus the woodworking in the interior. Also, nice hearth for your wood stove! Love Norman, too. 😊
My 3 year old daughter and I like to watch your videos together. She calls you the building guy when she wants to watch because of the first video we watched of you making the second cabin.. She's napping but I can watch it again with her later! :)
Your family must love you a lot and be very proud of who you are! Be safe and take care of your dog he’ll take care of your family and you! There’s a lot of love there!
Good job recycling the old woodshed. My first time seeing that way to split kindling…pretty cool. Seems like you have a nice place, well done…from an old vet, retired in the foothills of east Tennessee. About 63 years ago, caught my shoe (foot) on fire, putting gasoline on a fire…Mom wasn’t pleased. Please be extra careful when you’re alone. I love picture windows, where I can sit and look outside…the little things we miss when they’re gone.
What a GREAT channel! I watch it without sound to go to sleep, but I’m so inspired by your industriousness and organization that I get caught up watching longer! Thank you.
Love your channel. My blood pressure goes way down whenever I watch your videos. Very relaxing. Norm seems to enjoy himself. Beautiful place you built. Thanks for another video. Take care and enjoy.
Chainsaws make so many things much easier, especially when it comes to demolition! Also gotta say, I like Norman, what a great dog to have in the wilderness!
although i would be physically unable (especially right now) to be living as remote and wild as you are atm. Just your videos take me there spiritually. They calm me down after a long and hard day of work, watching this from a 3 bedroom flat on a comfy sofa with a blanket around my legs to keep warm. While outside its raining and really windy. its good seeing the outdoors, seeing how people get it done eventhough i'm unable to do it myself due to disability
It’s probably too late( you’d need to redesign the cabin) but I’d add a vestibule to your entrance door to not let heat out and cold in each time the doors is opened. A really big vestibule is called a mudroom in some places.
Love all of your videos, I got all of your music (payed ofc) because it's amazing and I will be playing it for the ambiance and soothing nature all through the holidays.
@@alaskacabinadventures Hell yeah brother! I can't wait, my wife loves christmas and I would love to play her some actual good christmas music. Much from all the down down here in alabama, love what you are doing and your video's. Best of wishes and happy holidays!
Hi Matt. it's here to stay. Wintertime. Enjoy it all you can. Fire up the sleds. Good music. Gota get ready. Like the kindling chopper deal. Norman seems to be liking it. Good dog. Take a sit down on the porch and soak it in before it gets too cols. All good from east KY USA. Next time
Dear Steve, please accept my belated condolences. These are hard times. Ahm 64 to be 65 soon, if permitted. Just got my 2nd pace(piece?)maker installed. Do NOT let that stop you! BABY STEPS. Wishing you all the best... from somewhere in Southern Yurrope... mike
Thank-You! Your dog so needs activity--Run,Run, and he has a buddy who knows that and dog food that will not kill him early! And most of all you let him in your life
Very happy to see another ASMR with a great soundtrack! One constructive note, mute the audio whenever you fast forward. This way it doesn't take away from the relaxing environment you set up here Thanks again for sharing this with us!
Not usually a huge fan of ASMR videos but I found this one strangely relaxing, maybe something to do with that beautiful haunting guitar, great to see Norman tearing around.
Please, please look after your beautiful dog, I used to have a dog just like your's white, his name was Snow, I loved that dog so much. I was young, this was (45) years ago my and I can still remember that dog like if it was yesterday. We used to live out in the ranch.i sure miss that dog. Your dog reminds me of my dog. Yeah, good Dog. So please take good care of yourself and your dog . Much love and Respect. Nice cabin you guys have.
You’ve worked so hard to fulfill your goals, the cabin and outside structures are all first class. May I suggest, you build a wheelbarrow to transport firewood to the house?
Сжечь столько дров на костре, это расточительство. Что в печи нельзя было это сжечь., практически готовые дрова. И вообще зачем было разрушать этот дровенник.
I was gonna say, there is a better way to move more wood at one time than that galvanized bucket thing! And I think you could put way more wood in that “wagon” thing to drag up to your cabin. Especially when your woodshed is so far away from your cabin. My woodshed is not far away at all, comparatively…but I don’t waste energy and time on small loads. I rack up. Are you burning mostly birch? White birch? Do you have equal amounts of hardwood there? Don’t know much about firewood in Alaska…here in Northern Maine, we go for Maple/Oak/Beech/Yellow Birch and Ash. We mix it up equal. The more soft wood we burn, the more we have to clean chimneys. We shy away from that here. Such a great place you have there…I would just work on the time you invest in maybe some needless chore like activity and try to make it more productive. That’s what the “old boys” always said. “Don’t waste energy and time doing the same thing three times. So it once and it’s done. Have a shot of whiskey and go to bed.” Amen. We must listen to those words of wisdom. They knew…they lived it. We didn’t.
We have birch and spruce. There is also cotton wood and aspen, but the vast majority of people in my area but those first two. Birch is the heavy hot burning wood with good burn times. Spruce is plentiful and lights easy, buts quick. Pretty crappy wood by comparison to any real hard wood.
The way your PUP looked at the camera as he ran past.. the look of joy.. was PRICELESS 🐕❤ Why don't you build a small closed in carport for your ride on, a little shelter from the weather..
You guys are perfect you have a beautiful home and you got a beautiful dog you look so nice be inside you need to build a fence most secure and you need to put the little stick inside you need to pack it up inside with everything food for you for your dog you need to park if you have a car next to the house
Beautiful place and so peaceful!!! Your dog, Norm, is so sweet and pretty!!! I wonder if you could have put the outhouse behind your cabin and make it closer to get to??!!! I know why most people put far from living quarters, but isn't there a way to make them not so bad? IDK, just a thought not having to walk farther in the cold and snow if possible! Anyway, thanks for sharing a lovely comforting video of your cabin in the woods!
great vid m8..no snow here yet in Romania..but as i m building a cabin up in the mountains where my grandparents used to live..i hope i ll have some. Btw i m going to try and build a snowplug to clear.paths..something puled by a rope ..made of wood..:)
Enjoying the good life I see. That old wet snow sure does shovel hard doesn't it? I didn't realize how feeble I had become until walking in just a skift of snow and doing an unexpected split. Right hip not the same since. Living in the tropics for 26 yrs ruined me I guess. Had to move back to the mountains, loved the things I use to do and I missed the pretty pictures mother nature painted with snow and ice. Enjoy it while you can, I once only had a little bit of gray in my beard also, now its snow white.
I just noticed you have Calamityware dishes! I love those. I bought a set of Christmas and "Things Could Be Worse" mugs during the Pandemic and gave them to some colleagues as gifts. I kept one of the Christmas mugs.

Looks like you cut up some good wood that you could have put around the bottom of your cabin
Steve,, I’m so sorry for your loss,, Sending you love and strength in prayers,, Blessings,
So sorry for your loss ✨🙏

Norm is a great companion. Wonderful video. Thank you.
What a wonderfully trained dog. He is a beauty. ❤️
Such a lovely face, he's looks a bit thin though. Needs a bit more dinner with all that energy he expends. Great video ❤
@@MGE9436he’s not thin at all, any vet would say he’s got just the right amount on him. Dogs are too fat these days.

The mounted wedge to cut kindling is genius. Fast, and most importantly, safe.
Exactly, so much less worried about losing a finger.

Nice property you have, why not use safety gear when you use chainsaw? No helmet, pants 😊and so one
綺麗ですね~ 熊も出るのですか😅 日本は今熊が出るニュースが多く歩いて学校に行く子も車で送迎です😅 綺麗な風景の中に家があるのですね😊
@@jrgenstender2659 why waste the wood on a bon fire?
Me and my little boy do the same just before we go to bed it's really calming there is something about men and snow cabins we just love them
Great video as always. I'm sure it's just me but it looks so much bigger on the inside than when I see it from the outside.
Nature and animals is my happy place. Seeing Norman running and loving the snow warms my heart! Blessed Be
What a great home. Beautiful life with just you and your dog.🥰
