Chuang must be proud of the performance he had against Ma, he playing amazingly!
Man, CCY has been around for so long, it's impressive how he has retained such a high level. I remember first seeing him battle Ma Long's coach Wang Hao in the early 2000s!

Bad umpire repeatedly calling "please play" for no reason. And then giving a yellow card to Ma Long.
That must effect ML a lot

He can even pull out wins in losing matches. It shows Ma Long's huge control over his emotions, actions and game.
Maybe she wanted to go to restroom very badly so she rushed the players.
@@wenjieyang5568 certainly feels that way. WTT shouldn´t hire this umpire anymore. There was no time wasting and Ma Long never does it.
I got the impression, almost every call is a statement: we need umpires - every now and then they're giving us a clue, why umpires should or shouldn't be there any more ... nowadays anybody seems to need them in professional table tennis
That yellow card was totally undeserved. WTT should fire this umpire. She was also disrupting players focus by calling "please play" several times for no reason. What an insufferable woman!

Completely stupid that yellow card. The previous point was over less than 10 sec ago. Every player takes at least 10 sec, usually more except maybe for the Lebrun brothers. Especially after certain points with some noise from the audience you just need some time to refocus.

Is anyone else baffled by this? The umpire's constant 'please play' is seriously disrupting the players' focus. Top athletes like Ma Long need their time to prepare properly for the next match. It's not a casual game where you can just serve instantly. And that UNDESERVED yellow card for Ma Long, for the worst reason ever is just frustrating to say the least. 🤦

This referee was terrible! He's definitely jealous of Ma Long, the guy was just going to dry his hand on the table, every table tennis player does that!!! Irresponsible, you will never have my respect.

These legends trained for countless of hours, worked on your routine, only to be constantly interrupted and rushed by an inconsiderate umpire. Neither player has displayed or voiced their opinion on their time between points. You should quit if you’re bored of your job, plenty of people who appreciate these top players do not mind allowing these legends of the game to gather a few seconds after crowd interactions. Fire the umpire.

Please stop blaming the referee. Long wait between points makes table tennis boring to watch. Look at Waldner in the past, he didn't waste time between points. And also today, watching Lebrun's brothers playing each other is super fun because they serve super fast. This needs to be encouraged and not the other way.
Maybe you should watch game highlight collections instead of the full game, or both you and the referee should develop patience.

You shouldn’t blame Ma Long for something that is the norm. There is nothing wrong with having a routine between points especially at the highest level of competition. Everyone should do what works for them. Of course there are limits, but Ma Long isn’t even close to that limit.
At the highest level of the sport there is so much at stake, they need immense focus and stamina, your comment is so ignorant. Either have the patience to wait 5 seconds between scores or just watch the highlights...

Peopl say its a bad umpire, but it does take ma long 10 to 15 second more than any other player to get ready. Watch any other match, its never this much. I dont care for it, but it is noticeable
Intelligent people can see the obviousness in your comment. The best players in the world need more time to concentrate and play at that level. The average ones, not. And that's how it goes for them.
go watch a sport where umpires play the game then, we are here to watch athletes play, idc if they take a minute to prepare you can go watch highlights instead. Why on earth are people trying to watch the refs play the game, its ridiculously idiotic
i press the right arrow key twice while watching on YT (+10 sec) for everyone, and it always fits with the next serve, it´s no different for ma long. The only difference is with the towel breaks.
So i have to disagree, the "please play" comments are absolutely unnecessary and she should check her watch.
