"Joss, canta!" (misses her cue) - still sounds good!
Can feel the lyrics even tho I only know one language. Is anyone talking about Larry David in the band?? 😃

Close your eyes and let yourself floating in the universe of their music. An universe in which the fantastic meets sacred rituals and where sounds are turning into weapons and shields, so necessary for the Romanians to be able to go through history with proud.

I love this! 💜 Forgive me if I get this wrong. In 1979, I, a Seattlite from the beautiful Pacific Northwest, was invited to go stay with the Mercier family in Moulins, France (03000). In the Autumn, I joined my friends, Sandrine and Mitou, to travel to the Champagne region to work for Sandrine's uncle in the grape harvest. Nearly all the other workers were in family caravans. The French called them les gitanes, which translated to Gypsy in English. Sandrine told me they actually identified as Rom. Here in America, there are many myths about "Gypsies." I saw wonderful, in many ways loving ordinary people. Meaning it wasn't hard to identify with them.
We in America have much to learn about the peoples of the world.
Except this is not Rromani/Sinti/Gypsy music, this is traditional Romanian music. Rromani/Sinti/Gypsy are a people originary from Northern India and spread all around Europe, with about 10% of its population in Romania, while Romanians are Caucazians. There are, of course, other cultures in Romania (Russian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Serbian etc). If we are to translate this into 'American political correctness', the owners of this music would be called Caucazian-Romanians, while Rromani/Sinti/Gypsy would be considered Rromani/Sinti/Gypsy Romanians...so, same nationality, different people and different cultures. I believe in the US you do not mix Hispanic, Native American, Caucazian or African cultures, you call it Cultural Misappropriation.
Alina M. .. I hope you know that I was not claiming to be an expert on this. Just sharing a little from my personal experience. I do understand that Americans have so much to learn. I do wish this learning will come from curiosity, not from shaming. Yes, it's difficult to get people to care, but I do. Besides her love for music, people and cultural diversity, I think that Joss aims to expand everyone's awareness through her travels and music.
Part of my ancestry is Native American. I do know the importance of people learning about Indigenous history and present. I know the harm caused when they don't.
@@whitecrow1949 My previous comment was a history lesson, not a public shaming. Don't get so easily offended just because someone explained what was incorrect in your comment. Both Romanian and Rromani People have beautiful music, but this piece here is Romanian. Chill and enjoy the song...
Alina M. What's always missing in text messages is tone. I'm not offended. I love history, culture, diversity, et al. I'm always open to learning.
This sounds just like romansh
Here's a profound quote from another great Romanian Sister:
