This is true. God helped me quit smoking recently and put away things I should have no part in. There is joy because I know God gave me the strength to overcome. It wasn't me alone. God is making me holy as He already sees me.

I believing for restoration
2023 was indeed a rough year. My dad passed away, I was laid off andthem inhad to change out my entire AC unit and I live in Texas so the AC was a necessity. I'm the sole provider for the family, and let me tell you, while i went through a very tough time, the Lord provided time and time again.
Do not let your state of mind be determined by your circumstances, but rather have your state of mind be determined by who God is.
Well, here we are in 2024.
I praise God for carrying us this far. Many of us would not have made it if He wasn’t carrying us.

2024 is also a LEAP year so this is the year we get to LEAP outta here!!
2023 was definitely a year of testing for me... There were many periods of time where it felt like God left me during my academic career as a graduate research student. My life constantly felt like it was at a stand-still. I couldn't move forward. And for months, I felt powerless to change anything. But then I picked up an Agpeya and I prayed more than I've ever prayed. In a time of tribulation, the Psalms of David encouraged me. And by December 12th, I had finally transferred into my PhD research program :) Even when the graduate department kept telling me that I was too late, and that the school could say no. I prayed. And God saw it through for me. And today, I'm still praying the same amount! To give thanks to God for everything He does for us. There are many times where God places tribulations in our lives to teach us how to lean on Him through prayer :)

There is definitely truth to what you are saying. However, how many of us have not started out with good intentions to live a better life (for Him), and yet fallen short?
I know I have, every new year. I may have victory in some areas, yet fail in other areas - maybe even the most important ones.
I can *not* base my joy upon how well I am following Him, or on how good or bad my day was.
Then, my joy would be based upon my own efforts - and faliures.
I have been there, and done that for many years.
I'm not saying "don't strive to do good". I'm saying don't base your joy upon your own works, but base your joy upon His amazing grace and love toward us.
My joy is in Jesus.
My hope is in Jesus.

2023 sent yet ANOTHER test for me. April 2023 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer that consumed APRIL MAY JUNE JULY AUGUST SEPTEMBER OCTOBER NOVEMBER & DECEMBER with surgeries & treatment.... BUT I leaned closer to God not away! Our Lord has a big calling for my 2024 & I say BRING IT ON!
