2:18 already showed who won. I can’t remember of anyone else having the same qualities of Whitney singing this climax, as resonance, power, stable tone, and a very big sound, as Cece did. She simply did one of the best performances of the entire show and one of the best IWALY cover. Whitney would be very proud.

Soul does not equal to good singing. You can be tone deaf and still sing with all your heart. I'm guessing that the only reason you felt that Cece's performance looked "spiteful" and her singing "contained no soul" is probably either because you are biased against her, or because you saw that she didn't add in all those moves that Paige did & simply walked around the stage, making the notes look effortless (and hence making Paige look worse off)
You need more than soul! A lot of people think that just singing passionately will make you sound good. It's a matter of pitch, vocal tone, timing, and a lot more.

Ok first of all Paige can sing i'll give her that. Its just that she used way too much Vibrato in this song and it kind of killed it.
