Aw man, you ruined the whole thing, the Ugandan interviewer it's a legend for being the most comprehensive and sensitive the country he grow in let him be, his legitimate intrigue in learning about such new and revolutionary theme in such a close minded county just makes me wish he has a really good and happy life.
Right? Not only did he give Pepe that platform, he actually took in what Pepe was saying and learned to it. He went from "why are you gay" to defending Pepe from homophobic and transphobic remarks in the timespan of that single interview. He undid decades of backwards cultural programming right then and there. Genuinely cool guy and legit one of the most open minded people on the planet

The interviewer was actually really nice (if you watched that interview) you can tell he's trying to understand Pepe's pov, he's trying his best to help Pepe state their points multiple times, regardless, it was a legendary interview.
That interviewer was a very genuine person. He truly was trying to understand everything and protected Pepe from the pastor. He constantly corrected the pastor's use of the word she instead of he to describe Pepe. I watched the hour-long interview and he had attempted to have a very civil debate. As far as the pastor is concerned, he literally stormed the interview. You can't use your own values to judge the values of another country.

There are only two circumstances where I would care about your sexuality: I'm interested in you, or you're interested in me. Otherwise, it's none of my business.
I feel like a lot of people who say this, however, don't mean "I don't care about your orientation, you're still my friend :) " but are saying "I do not want to hear about your partner, or your thoughts on laws that oppress you, stop shoving your gayness in my face, I am uncomfortable with you expressing it".
Pepe Julian has a resolve that I just simply don't understand. First of all, I'm not transgender so I can't even begin to imagine the strength and courage it would take for him to come out, and on top of it in Uganda of all places. THEN instead of saying "Well, you know, Uganda isn't exactly welcoming, so it might be better to so some place safe". He was like "Yeah, fuck that, I'm staying right where I am". I can't even comprehend the strength it would take to come out as transgender, but if I did, I certainly wouldn't stick around where ever I was if I faced problems like... y'know... death.

It’s actually right-wing Christian organizations from America who are influencing the anti-gay propaganda and legislation in Uganda. Y’all are so weak you stay other people influencing you.
This video irritated me. The interviewer was actually genuinely trying to understand because in Africa, the general consensus is that you CHOOSE to be gay, go against the bible, and like the same sex, so its seen as a big crime. That's how Pepe was able to keep his cool. He knows how things are over there and understands that some people just need fo be taught. I dont need to see a british person from a country that already accepts and understands lgbtq matters to ridicule the interviewer. Thanks.
Placid2 Gaming depends on which part of the country. It’s hard to say America “______” about really anything because it is such a big country and you will find people of every opinion. Especially on these divisive issues.
So much hate for Christians in these comments. It breaks my heart to know that the image people have of us is one of hate, as followers of a God who embodies the love that binds all humans. For anyone the church has harmed and left questioning their beliefs, I am sorry. There is a God who loves you, and doesn't care about creed, sex, gender, affiliation or anything else.
Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT) They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
MutableJohn117 Oooh look at me! I can take Biblical verses out of context and use them to justify hatred! I must be doing God's work! The God of the Old Testament is not the God of today; the covenant was renewed with the birth and death of Jesus Christ, and the Old Testament was written by humans under the unimaginable cruelty of the Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, and eventually the Romans. In actual theology, the way to look at scripture is through the lens of the teachings of Jesus; looking at scripture too objectively or metaphorically is not accurate, it must be tested against the ministry of Christ. And if I am not mistaken, Christ never condones putting anyone to death for belief, he teaches that relationship with God is invitational love, not coercion.
zimeron1 Actually you should still follow both and they are both still in effect according to the new testament. Also why do I have to misinterpreting the verses why not you? So people are evil to gods people and under gods instructions they where ordered to kill, rape, and torture others. What a loving and caring god. “For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV) "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)
Matthew 5:17 states that Jesus has not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill them. It means that Jesus embodies the new covenant, and has come to redefine the law. What does this mean? Jesus explains in Matthew 22:37: Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. This is the new covenant: by loving and giving oneself to others, one is being an agent of God in the world, and is giving the highest praise to God. Loving others is loving God. They are one in the same.
zimeron1 Oh ok you want to the new testament ok. The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak. 1st Corinthians 14:34 So if your eye-even your good eye-causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. Matthew 5:29 And if your hand-even your stronger hand-causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. Matthew 5:30 If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters… he cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:26
Best part is that Hillary Clinton paid for this one. " In 2012, he was named a Global Citizen by the Clinton Global Initiative for his work in human rights advocacy"

This was a brilliant piece. It's almost (but not) sad that comedy shows like LWT can often provide a clearer image of world news than actual news outlets. Without twisting stories. or reporting unsubstantiated stories and forwarding uncited information. And on top of that, make it amazingly entertaining and funny too.
Well that is because of something John likes to mention which is HBO Business model because it's a paid channel they don't have sponsors or need to be afraid of ratings most news orgs ARE afraid of spons cutting their money or loosing their rating and because of that they're more careful with what and how they say things
Someone at my church brought up something that I want to share with you. Yes, I go to church because my mom likes me to and it makes the family happy and maybe it does a bit of character building, who knows. There is nobody more pro gay than my mom and she said the best thing I have ever heard someone say about gay parenting. This one lady, at our doughnut breakfast, asked, "How do I explain this to my kid? How do I explain that someone down the street has 2 mommies or 2 daddies?" My mom bit her tongue and then when we were in the car my mom, out of the blue, yelled, "What kind of stupid fucking child would have their life turned upside down because another child in the neighborhood has 2 mommies or daddies? If that bothers your kid then you should never send your kid to school. You might as well just keep your kid at home!" And that brings up a good point. Why the hell do we need to explain everything to our kids? Let them figure it out. My mom never explained homosexuality to me. I figured it out when I saw another kid in school with a brother who was gay. I said to myself, "Oh, well I guess some people like other boys. How about that?" I remember because it was kind of a shock to me but in the end it didn't bother me.
If your a parent what you do and don't explain to your child will effect his life.. Its important to teach you children about life, if you don't explain it then what if he gets with a group that doesn't like gays and your child thinks the same, and is now hated by most people in this country because their parent didn't explain to them that it's okay.

(Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV)
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
Jesus explains in Matthew 22:37:
Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.'
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
1st Corinthians 14:34
So if your eye-even your good eye-causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. Matthew 5:29
And if your hand-even your stronger hand-causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. Matthew 5:30

Without twisting stories. or reporting unsubstantiated stories and forwarding uncited information. And on top of that, make it amazingly entertaining and funny too.
Well that is because of something John likes to mention which is HBO Business model because it's a paid channel they don't have sponsors or need to be afraid of ratings
most news orgs ARE afraid of spons cutting their money or loosing their rating and because of that they're more careful with what and how they say things

I love Pepe, Pasta and the interviewer. 🤷🏽♀️
I would have been disappointed if he didn't start that interview with why are you gay😂😂😂
You might as well just keep your kid at home!"
And that brings up a good point.
And when was the first time you kissed a boy naw lol jk

this episode is just sad at 5:20
Your mom's awesome.
If your a parent what you do and don't explain to your child will effect his life.. Its important to teach you children about life, if you don't explain it then what if he gets with a group that doesn't like gays and your child thinks the same, and is now hated by most people in this country because their parent didn't explain to them that it's okay.
