At 5:45 a.m. on 09/14/2024, a staff member and two men removed trees about ten feet back that had grown up and over the solar panels charging the Tower Cam. The rest will be removed after the Eagle Season.
"In plain English, the solar panels took about 7.5 hours to charge the batteries on Friday (before your trimming work), and only 4.5 hours after. That means you made the difference between the system operating through the winter, or the batteries going dead at times, which would cause the video camera and audio to stop working just about the time the baby eagles would hatch."
