      Man already is God. A priori ("Thou art That"). One might change the saying to "God is fully revealed in a man (Avatar) so all may find the revelation of themselves as God incarnate." This is why Jesus emphasized the "Kingdom of Heaven".

    Excellent. And there you have it. The most sophisticated exposition of the nature of the Source and ground of existence (advaita Vedanta) ever developed on the planet in 8 minutes. Because it was experienced as such by great sages. I could never be a Buddhist, as much as I admire so much of Buddhism, because the Brahman (absolute) in its expression of qualities has just been too real, pervasive, guiding, supportive in my life. I cannot deny what I have experienced in great depth.
    I like his distinction of eternal nature, "Sat-Chit-Ananda", vs "attributes", (loving, wise, guiding, creating, sustaining, destroying, etc.)

    I would think a personal god would inhibit enlightenment, and hold the person in karmic rebirth.. and if the person searching for a continuation of life experience over and over again with the pleasure and pain, this would seem better option, than what enlightenment 'liberation' offers..having a non-physical form.... What would be the reason a person would desire to not exist in a form that experiences pleasure and pain except to escape complete suffering in the existence of physical form?..

    • @singularsink
      @singularsink Рік тому +2

      @@thrinethran2885 ok sure, e.g. let's take Islam -- In few places Quran mention Allah is the Samad (most powerful Moon god in Kabah in pre-Islamic Arabia) who has 3 daughters, in some places it mentions when Mahammad travelled to Jannat (heaven) he just saw noor (light) and heard Allah's voice. In some places they say Allah sitting in 7th heaven on a chair held by 4 angels 1000 miles tall. Now about the qualities of Allah -- Allah can forgive every sin except if someone worships false god (i.e. not Allah). Allah is all powerful but he personally can't reincarnate on earth, rather sends his prophets and Mahammad was his last ever (apparently he does not have power to send any further). Does it sound anything remotely similar to Hindu concept of Ishwar? Muslims are very clear about it, ask any devout muslim if Allah is same as Christian God (forget about Hindu Bhagwan) and they will clearly tell you NO!
      Similarly take Christian concept of God: they have the concept of Trinity and they also consider the son of God Jesus Christ as God, who sits on his right hand side in heaven. And Biblical god is extremely hateful, vile full of vengeance! Any similarity with Hindu concept of Ishwar? Again, Christinas are very clear about their god.
      That's why they both consider Hindu gods are false and Hindus worship EVIL, which is why they consider conversion is justified/right way to bring the ignorant evils under the God.

    • @singularsink
      @singularsink Рік тому +8

      @thrinethran2885 contrast that with the Hindu Gurus, who r running around the world telling oh it's the same god we worship, without knowing/understanding Abrahamic literature in depth. I was surprised to see even that the Vedanta tempe in San Francisco has a image of Jesus beside RamKrishna, Ma Sharada and Vivekananda! There are endless books written by our gurus promoting Jesus as a Yogi!! Can you believe it? give one reference from Bible about the Yogic tradition invented/propagated by Jesus!
      Tell me what will a common Hindu (who does not read/understand their literature) make sense of it? Why do they not think that conversion is totally fine as they will worship the same god after the conversion, since Ishwar-Allah-Tero-Naam (Ishwar Allah is the same)? Does this not give religious conversion of Hindus a justification? Don't believe me? See the spread Christianization in South India, Punjab, North-East. See the pace of Islamization in Kerala.
      I (like many others e.g. Rajiv Molhotra) consider the confusing message of the Hindu Gurus has some part in it. But more importantly the equivalence/similarity of the concept of God and Metaphysics between the Dharmic tradition and that of the Abrahamics is completely wrong as I proved above.

      @@singularsinkif Brahman is the ultimate nature, brahman is the one and only God, just names and perceptions are different, be it Dharmic or Abrahamic.....shree Ramakrishna practiced forms of Sufi Islam and Christianity and attained same realisation, after attaining the same realisation with many of the important religious views of the time, he says, "Joto Mot Toto Poth" the same thing that has been mentioned in the Rig Veda....I can understand your views regarding conversion and, all, yes atrocities havebeen put forwarded in the name of religion, but that doesn't make Brahman or God different in different religion. Texts, even Dharmic texts have different versions of Saguna God, and it is based on perception and experience of the Rishi or saint or prophet. Any propaganda regarding conversions, brain washing must be dealt with strong hands however, harmony and peace must be prevailed. Sanatan Dharma teaches that the whole world is our family. At the same time says, Dharma Hinsa Tathaivacha, We must take strong actions against those who try to defame our culture, maintaining integrity of universal brotherhood that our Dharma teaches. Abrahamic texts may tell Brahman is not same as Allah, but we know what ultimately the truth is....truth must prevail

    I totally disagree with your talk, as you are not sporting enough to declare that Hinduism has no fixed concept about God, like that of Abrahamic religions who are quite straightforward in their concept of God. Hinduism is both monotheistic and polytheistic. There is also one branch of philosophy which does not believe in existence of God. Hinduism has taken all concepts about God in it's fold in endeavour to avoid religious persecution, which is characteristic of Abrahamic religions.

      @@Raj14-o9y This comment of mine is against your both comments on the subject.
      Monotheism means a doctrine or belief that there is only one God.
      Monism is a term derived from neoplatonism, where it is believed that all creations have evolved from a point, which is described by Pythogorus by drawing center of a circle.
      In Hinduism, we consider Brahma with attributes in dual vedanta and sometimes even in nondual vedanta, as Shankaracharya has opined that belief in existence of God, would enable a person to understand Bramhan. However, sometimes the term "absolute monoism" is used for nondual Vedanta.
      Hence, your comment that Hinduism is monism, is totally wrong. It is monotheistic, as Siva, Vishnu, Shoroshi are considered as only God by different branches of Hinduism. Hinduism is polytheistic too, as we believe that there is parallel republic of Gods in heaven and hence, worship in many many temples dedicated to various Gods. So, it appears that not me, but you have not understood basics of Hinduism.
