Instead of using a pencil and then having to erase the lines, I tape a piece of overhead transparency on top of my image and draw the connecting lines with a fine tip dry erase marker. Then I scan the image and then I pull off the transparency before cutting!

What a great idea! I am going to try this. The pencil thing just seems weird and I always draw too dark so I have been trying to figure out a work around and you have it. Thanks for sharing this.

I could not understand when you were scanning the image and then it did not work…how can you tell if it did not work? It was too small on the screen for me to see. Also, why doesn’t the ScanNCut think the pencil lines are part of the design?
