@@jorgito1559 you can look into GT DD Pro which is more less the same wheel base and it is compatible with PS5. It is also compatible with Xbox and PC when you attach compatible wheel
yes that is the real reason of the price difference....other than that it's just alcantara (bad for longevity) vs leather and different (imo uglier) colors
I have the wrc wheel.. just a month old and it started disconnecting.. and the dpad button thing stopped working for the down direction. Took fanatec almost 4 months to send me a RMA shipping label. Horrible business practices. I'm not usually one to complain.
Hello my friend thank you for your presentation I have not picked I thought I did up until I watched your very very informative very on point video presentation that you put out to us. Thank you so much I'm not sure what to do. I'm still in the early stages of planning my setup:-) it's something I'm looking forward to it'll be a very nice hobby after a very challenging previous several years . Your information was helpful 👍
I had that same question, and ended up gettin the CSL P1 v2 despite is on backorder until feb 6, the wrc is already in stock... i would had chose the latter but needed to be budget wise
Both are good. You can get away with buying these CSL wheels and still feel like you have good quality steering wheels. I like the Alcantara feel in the WRC and you can even use for from Gr.3 Gr.4 cars in Gran Turismo. I’m buying the P1 soon since I like the is leather and is a smaller wheel also 300mm. I already have bigger wheels too.
I never got this wheel to work properly on PS5. Half the buttons don’t work when i play EA WRC or WRC generations. I’m not sure if it’s a defect with the wheel but my pedals also don’t work when i try to use the wheel.
Unfortunately, i'm not a console player, so I have no experience what so ever with console compatibility, but I would suggest to try updating the wheelbase and also the wheel. I don't know if that is possible on the console or if you need acces to a PC to be able to update them.
@MrChocalatestarfish in general or for this video? My preferred one is the Asetek La Prima, but I constantly change them and feequently use every wheelbase I own. I own the Thrustmaster T248, T300, Moza R5, R9, Fanatec GT DD Pro and Asetek La Prima.
@tpayne3047 I'm glad you figured it out, man. Could you explain what you had to do? Maybe someone else will have the same problem in the future and I could give them your way of solving it.
Off topic the R5 has a firmware update that talks about correcting current and voltage overload from the last update. So that last update must really be pushing the wheel to the limit. I'm afraid to update as I like the extra power and haven't had any issues 😁. This does explain why it gets hotter, but I have a fan on mine so no issues. I also took a digital scale to mine and measured the steering lock force at 12lbs with the Formula ES wheel at roughly a 5' radius this around 6.7nM so well above what is advertised. Not sure if it uses the steering lock force during the normal range of movement, but it should be able to?
Hi Jimbonater. Oh shoot! So we got happy for nothing. I hope at least they'll let it at 6 nm. I did not turn on mine since I bought the R9 but I was thinking to do next a Time battle betwen the r5 r9 and gt dd pro.
@@JulianNDL I'm surprised I never see any videos on these firmware updates? Especially the one that increased power as it was a big change and evidently they over did it 😁
Price wise the CSL wins but I own the WRC rim with a QR1 attached it's feel and grip is premium to the CSL . I use it when driving stick shift cars ( I don't play rally games ) I originally brought it because I was using a Xbox but now have a PC but im still glad i have this rim because it looks and feels awsome compared to the CSL.
The only reason to get the WRC wheel is if you need it to work with Xbox. If you don't need it to work with Xbox, save the money and get the cheaper wheel. The extra cost is primarily to cover the Xbox compatibility.
@@grahamkelly8662 The WRC wheels was always around 200 euros. The cheapest one is the CSL, which is around 120 euros, and the CSL BMW around 140 euros.
I played without gloves only once or twice, and even during those short instances, you could already see the wear marks on the Alcantara material. That's why I started playing with gloves from then on. The rapid deterioration of Alcantara is its unattractive aspect.
I got my WRC wheel in a offer, was nearly the same price as the CSL, and for that reason alone i will disagree with you, i love my WRC wheel, and will use it for rallying, if i want to drive other games i will use my GT or F1 wheel, thats the joy of this setup, you can tailor it to suit your needs
Well, I don't understand what you disagree with. Not everyone bought it at that price. Usually, it costs almost double than the CSL DD, just for its design. Now, I never said I don't like it. It's one of my favorite wheels, because even though it costs almost double than the CSL, it has a cool design and it's still cheaper than anything else on the market.
@@JulianNDL I disagree with the 2 points you made, i like the paddle shifters, i like that i can very easily remove them, also, the CSL doesnt come on the xbox, so thats another down side to the CSL, The WRC has the Alcantara too, which is more costly to produce, You are saying one is more expensive than the other, well its better quality material and a slightly different design, so that makes your comparison on cost completely redundant
Alcantara will look like sh*t if you don't use gloves, just after a few uses. So, looks is a downside, in my opinion. Not everybody wants to play with gloves. So, basically, you pay more for Alcantara, and you're forced to use gloves just because it looks a bit better.. On the other hand, I played so many hours without gloves on the CSL, and it still looks like new. Yes, console compatibility is a big selling point for the WRC wheel.
@@JulianNDLi wonder how long it will last... i heard some people playing for 3+ years with alcantara and having no issues without gloves... i bought it because i hate rubber and it also is only available in 2 months...
had wrc one for a few weeks the thumb encoder fell out and in general wheel cheaply creaked just by griping it so i sent it back... would not recommend any of these cheap wheels with that plastic qr1... you get what you pay for.
Yes, that's true. Both creak a lot, but to be fair, they're one of the cheapest wheels on the market. I personally think that for their price, the'yre both a good deal.
