just looked it up for 3/14-3/19/2020, as a platinum member using points with the 5th night free, the room featured in this video cost 555,000 points (or $1,000+355,00 points)... and also $745 for the seaplane (only available during daylight hours) per person, and $5.60 per kilo over the initial 30 kilo for luggage.... not going to be cheap... If you don't have a saturday within your stay period, it's only 540,000 points. note, the package that includes food is not available using points...
There is absolutely nothing wrong with these kind of videos. Especially when these trips are obtained with points, which make it totally relevant to your channel. I'll live vicariously through you, until I'm able to take these type of epic vacations. Enjoy yourself Sebby! :D
Thank you for the review. I appreciate things like this because Maldives and Bora Bora are definitely on my bucket list. Just need to know how & what credit cards to use. Thanks Sebby!
Can please do a how to point redemption for Hilton Maldives. Planing to go there next year and wanted to see if someone knew the process. Thanks. Bye the way, great video.
Just as an example I was quoted $ 1,724 round trip transfer for 2 people from Male airport to Waldorf Astoria Maldives . Conrad is less expensive but not cheap by any means $1,180 for 2 people round trip transfer . Not sure if anyone has different ways around this .
There's no (economic) way around this from my research. You can charter your own boat but prices seemed equally pricey. We used points for the resorts but we're eating the boat/seaplane fees. Breakfast would be another one but it can be dodged with status.
Can you book on points from a CSP or similar and get upgrades just by showing a card like Amex Platinum, or do you need to book on a Amex Platinum? New to this...
Can you tell me how much it cost for the transfer from the airport to the hotel and what is the best way to book it?? Would really appreciate it thank you.
Between the St. Regis and Waldorf Astoria in the Maldives, which would you prefer, and which one gets you better perks if you were a hilton diamond and marriott titanium
Yes i love this tutorial videos keep making them sebastian. im dreaming of doing this next year and i have about 195K chase points so my question to you what would be the best strategy to get that bungalow water villa?
Definitely need more videos showing us actual travel. All these channels say they’re about teaching you to gain/use points but never show the fruit of that work. Most of these channels now come down to comparing Amex vs Chase every week.
Prices are usually higher on the Amex booking website $10 or more. Even when you use points for these vacations, you still had to spend a fortune to accumulate enough points to pay for them. Anyways enjoy!
Intro bonuses offer outsized value. Most people hit bonuses by paying rent/tuition/business expenses (i.e., Plastiq). I'm probably heading back to the Maldives in a year or so via points (Conrad, Hyatt, JW/Ritz this time).
Zero reason to book on the "Amex booking website" since this is a terrible use of points. General best use is transfer partners (i.e., Virgin Atlantic via 30% promo for ANA First class). 99% of the time, it makes zero sense to transfer Amex MR to Bonvoy; maybe top off?
#AskSebby yes continue to share the walkthroughs! I imagine some of your followers want to see every feature your travels offers you. Yes please share how points make these trips achievable.
Hi! Great video! We are flying for honeymoon to Maldives 1-9 December 2019 to Dreamland resort on Hirundhoo island (north-east from Male). How was the weather?
Different vibes. St. Regis = 5 star service and "reasonable" prices for excursions and food Waldorf Astoria = New beautiful property, but staff needs more training. Astronomical prices for everything. Hopefully it's improved since our stay.
Ask Sebby if you don’t mind to tell , how much would be good to budget for 4 nights at the Waldorf Astoria ? I was planning on 3,500 USD just for food beverages and some excursions , is that too low ? Thanks 🙏
Excursions like whale, dolphin, and stingrays at Waldorf were absurd. Go elsewhere for excursions. They only offer private, which starts at $500+ since you have to rent the whole boat + staff. You can get affordable lunch options around the property for ~$50/person, but dinner is ~$100+/person. For their "special" dinners, expect to pay $250+person. These prices don't include alcohol. When we visited, there was no complimentary sunscreen anywhere on property, which is not normal at a beach resort. Most resorts have a sunscreen station at the pool. Only place to find it on the island was the gift shop which costs $40-$100/bottle depending on the brand.
Hey Sebs, any shortcut to get platinum elite? And we do care about these room tours and travel stuff🔥 that's why we playing the credit card game! Yes! Talk about how much points for the stay also!👍👍👍👍👍#teamsebby
Like it, good stuff hope to see more of it. I just could never afford it even though I am making those points come in like crazy. How to book these trips would be cool to see as well. Enjoy your trip!
Got this before Cat 8 but locked in the upgrade beforehand. 60k/night base room but we couldn't find availability; booked at the 120k for OW instead. My rationale was that Cat 8 was going to make it 70k to 100k anyways.
Hey Sabastian. Long time subscriber here. I had AMEX charge off which has been removed because it has been over seven years. Do you think I have a chance with AMEX? Would really appreciate your thoughts or anyone. Thank you 😊
Apply for something and see what happens. Not really much else you can do beyond that. Worst case, you're eating 1 inquiry (not a big deal in the long-term).
We were at St Regis Maldives: 10/14/19-10/19/19 and stayed in OWV #504. The sandals and hat were complimentary, but the beach bag was $49. Please do points breakdown video and videos of their amazing Buffett and a la carte breakfast and the world class spa with steam room, very nice sauna, and the blue hole experience that was rated best in world.
Crazy how many views your centurion video got compared to others. People love to dream about the aspirationals instead of actually attainable goals like a trip like this.
ALWAYS... tell us how you booked using points #goodstuff👍👍
probably have to be a plat or higher to get this on points, unless there is a cash or points upgrade option.

We love Mandy! Like these videos too
Transportation from the airport to The properties are really really expensive what option did you choose and how much did it cost?
Just as an example I was quoted $ 1,724 round trip transfer for 2 people from Male airport to Waldorf Astoria Maldives . Conrad is less expensive but not cheap by any means $1,180 for 2 people round trip transfer . Not sure if anyone has different ways around this .

Wow! I absolutely love the open layout of that hotel room.
Would love to see a points strategy for the Maldives! Especially for the St. Regis

Hyatt is your best bet; either have status or pay for OWV: ua-cam.com/video/InwBzJByBqc/v-deo.html

Did you book this at $1700 worth of points per night? So 85,000 MR points per night?
What was your strategy to get to Platinum Elite?
Pls provide point info. Thanks so much..!!

Lots of great options to book resorts on points! :)
St Regis vs Waldorf Astoria , which one is the best ?
Different vibes. St. Regis = 5 star service and "reasonable" prices for excursions and food

For excursion reference, W Maldives charged ~$125/person for stingray and whaleshark activities. Small group of 4-5 people.
My main issue with the food at Waldorf is that they charged Michelin star prices, without the Michelin star quality.

I want details of how you booked this place. It’s on my Bucket List!!!
St. Regis never disappoints
Yeah I def wanna see the points for this trip
Sebby - If I'm going to blow 500k or more of my Marriott points on a 10yr anniversary trip, would you say STR Maldives, Al Maha, or something else?
You only need 1 night at Al Maha. I would do both if possible ;)
@@AskSebby thanks for the advice and for responding. Keep up the good work!
Thought you were gonna book a Hyatt, but you went the Marriott route, would you kindly explain why/how?
Great 🙄.....another item to add for the bucket list.

We almost witnessed DJ #AskSebby on the Ones and Twos towards the end of the “video.”

Marriott Bonvoy.
