Thanks for having me on, Ben! We definitely should do this again sometime! In fact, we did! Here's the interview with Ben as my guest: ua-cam.com/video/P0zrnSi-3v0/v-deo.html
Thanks so much! It’s been a WILD week with back to school for kids and a busy season at my 9-5, it’s been some LATE nights getting everything done. Hearing folks like it makes it all worth it!
Seeing that the historical win rate for a rookie quarterback who debuts his career on the road is 28%, a win on Sunday would be a major statement...and a big kick in the teeth to the Seahags.
Dzang...great find on that stat @jle4433 . That gives me more worry for sure and explains the line a little more. I still think we have a better roster. We are better than the last time we played them and we fumbled twice on the goal line and then attempted a ridiculous field goal...
Pundits are quick to say that Bo's good play in the preseason was because he had 61 college starts. What other rookie has had 61 starts? None, you say? Exactly. Why are we using stats for other rookies when Bo is not like other rookies?
@@SportsTalkDenver They got done paying Russ countless millions of dollars and then decide to take the ball out of his hands at the end. Can't Hackett was not only the worst Bronco coach, he's probably the worst NFL head coach in NFL history.
@@rluellam NFL scouts tend to look at players who succeed early rather than late as better NFL prospects. Nix got a lot of starts, but his play in the first 3 seasons would not have gotten him drafted in the first round. It would likely have seen him drafted on day 3...if at all. More starts is only useful if he was getting trained in a system that translates well to the NFL. That is not the case here...just the opposite in fact. We will see if he's ready or not, but I didn't see him do anything in preseason that told me he's a viable starter. I was hoping to see him do some things he didn't have to do at Oregon, which didn't happen.
The guest you brought on seemed like a very good dude and a good sport. Sometimes maybe we need to admit a bit we are underdogs and act like it. We can still be confident, but lets be real. Good dude and so are you. The victory is always sweeter in an upset. Subtle confidence bud is the killer! #BoLieve
If Nix keeps his composure in this environment and keeps the team in a fighting mindset, that would be a culture change to make this Broncos fan smile, even if we didn't get the win! Our team needs a can-do attitude, some genuine belief in themselves. To see that on the field on game day would be something very encouraging. Go BRONGOS!!!
I completely agree! And Nix has shown composure in some REALLY tough places to play. He's played in Swamp, at Penn State, at Alabama...etc. Penn State holds almost 40,000 more people than Seahawks stadium and college atmosphere's get WAY wilder...
@@SportsTalkDenver Still, not much of a tougher week 1 test for a rookie. The up side is, the team can learn a lot from this. Makes me wish we were playing the Seahawks at full strength. But I think it will be a good game. Praying for no injuries!
Thanks man! He was super cool- it’ll be interesting to see how the interviews go when we start AFC West matchups- it’ll definitely be harder to stay level headed
I hear you, and I'm excited too. But for some context, the Houston Texans lost their first two games last year, and they still finished 10-7. One win or loss does not define us. I already feel really great because our offense and our defense both look competent during the preseason. Everyone knows we went 3-0, but few people realize we scored 99 points. The only team that scored more was Chicago and they played 4 games because of the Hall of Fame game.
@rluellam I hear ya, there is a great chance we will have a less then mediocre start to our season. I'm just happy to have this much to look forward to. When we got russ we gave up so much...I couldn't get excited about it.
@@DavidWyatt-v6i I was just glad we were playing meaningful football in Dec. last year. Id love it, I even expect, us to play well from the start. But I don't want our fan base to turn against this team before we even play a single home game. I want us to hopeful and passionate about this team going in to week 2, no matter what happens in week 1.
@rluellam I agree it was nice playing for something in Dec. Also happy Sean had enough balls to get rid of russ after that patriots game. I Bo-lieve we are heading in the right direction.
Ben has this wide eyed "listening face" that I can't quite explain. Not the end of the world but a bit odd certainly haha 😅 Sitting there looking at him answering the question, then look over at Ben, never blinking, staring him down. Notice the same face returns when he is playing video clips during stream and then returns to a more normal range of facial expressions 😅
great format Ben, very entertaining and an actual conversation as opposed to RA RA RA for either side. Even though we know the Broncos are going to smash them dirty birds! lol
Most entertaining and humourous edition to date 👍👍 3½ hrs (approximately 210 miles, if memory serves it's just about 240 so perhaps there was a slight tailwind and banging 70ish) to drive from Seattle to Eugene (I mentioned to say the state border) at the posted speed limit. Bo Nix is the only QB I've found interesting enough to watch since Hubert...PNW inhabitant; 34-26 Broncos win!!
Ohh the new death star will be operational 😂😂😂 the middle linebackers will be just dandy we replaced Bobby Wagner with the highest rated linebacker against the run and pass and baker was at practice, conner Williams will be ready to go, so may the force be with you 😂😂😂 go Hawks
Everyone with a brain recognizes he is a rookie QB, and that not everything will be perfect year 1. So if there are November boos, will be coming from the sheep that carry no value. Example being Camel-a voters and supporters, who share that level of intellectual synergy etc. 😅
The loss of SB49 is the point when everything changed for the team. If the SeaHawks had won - maybe they could of been what the chiefs are now. Having back to back SB wins of done a lot more for the moral of the franchise.
Well lucky for the Broncos they have a top 6-7 O line in the league. Few new additions to the rest of the D will have to see how everyone meshes there as a team. But still includes the #1 rated shutdown corner in the NFL, PS2. I like our chances.
@@loudnoises5372 Yes, the Broncos can make this competitive if they execute extremely well. I'm more concerned with the O line, than I am with Surtain. He is just one player and there are three pretty good receivers for them to cover. Metcalf will have at least two receptions.
@@whitebird357 Agreed. Certainly could see this game going either way. All I was saying is don't overlook the Broncos. The national media before OTAs had them rated last in the league. Quickly realized they know nothing about the team. Other than Denver payed Russ 39m to leave town and never return _(Ask the Steelers how that's going for them currently lol)_ takes a lot of confidence to see the writing on the wall/commit. *TL:DR Broncos have plenty of talent to work with, and may the best team win* 😃
@@loudnoises5372 Yes, before preseason, no one knew what Denver could do and it didn't look good after the Wilson debacle and brining in a rookie qb. Afterward, everyone should be able to see what their potential is. Sean Payton wanted to win the games in the ps to give his players confidence and a winning mentality. He succeeded in that. Payton has not lost his edge in game planning. He is probably in the top 3 among NFL HCs. Maybe #2 out of 32. This is what makes Denver a real opponent. I hope all the Seahawk players and coaches understand this and do their homework or they could get their butts kicked like what happened last year in their hyped-up season opener. If Seattle scouts properly, prepares with fear and trembling, and gets ready as if they are playing the KC Chiefs or the SF 49ers, then they will rock the house.
I don’t want to sound mean but that surprised look on your face absolutely has to go. It is the most distracting thing you could possibly do. I just want to laugh at the look on your face dude! LOL
Might as well dream big, I guess LOL. Denver is going to get absolutely manhandled by the Hawks on Sunday. Good luck with that garbage O line and a rookie QB Denver fans LOL.
