The thing that surprises me the most is how gentle they are. A small thump from a whale could easily kill a person, however these whales interact and take extreme care not to hurt anyone. Just amazing,
They are so incredibly intelligent and self aware that they know how much they could hurt you so they hold themselves back from doing so. Any human that kills a whale for any reason other than to put one down that is dying a horrible disease caused death is a monster.
Exactly. This type of whale is called a right whale because it was considered "the right whale" to kill back in the whaling days. Only a pure psychopath with no empathy or concern for anything else in the world could kill these things for a living.
isn't it wonderful to think that the world still has so much to offer despite the destruction man have greatly contributed to Mother Earth? Many awesome creatures are still left to be discovered and thanks to these courageous people who share all their experiences to us.
So adorable. It just goes to show animals really are intelligent and emotional creatures. Not trying to be a hippie, but I just think they are wonderful :D
what an awesome experience! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful adventure..and it looks like you made a new friend too. I could watch hours of this. Thanks again
The truth is, the first place where we can start saving the whales is in our hearts. We need to keep them, alive or deceased, in our memory. Cetaceans have a connection with us unlike any other kind of whale. I am working to stop Eskimo whaling here in Alaska. The truth is, whaling of any kind is wrong.
it is my dream..exactly my dream...and as sure as hell, I will try my best to exoerience it:D but untill then, thank you for the inspiration, this is more than beautiful :D
It kills me that right now the Japanese Government is going to go *whaling*. We need to protect these gentle mammals and save them. They are endangered. Please support Sea Shepherd to help save them. xo
Whales are precious creatures that deserve to enjoy our planet Earth as much as we do. Extinction means forever gone. Please say NO to whaling for their meat.
Uplifting moments, captured on film of the meeting of 2 very different species. For a different view on human and whale interaction try "Killing Time - 12.09" (it does have an optimistic ending!) You can click muserings to get there too.
The truly heart breaking thing here is why the "Right Whale" is named the way it is: because of being the "Right whale" to hunt. They are slow swimmers, they are curious, swimming up to the boats, they don't put up much of a fight when harpooned and float when killed. The very things this guy was describing here was also the reason why for 150 years there was a ban on hunting them, there weren't enough of them left.
Now I remember of the time I was in the ocean diving at 157m deep and I came face to face with a whale. That was terrifying but I was so lucky that a sea elephant just got his giant squid and the whale followed him. Was a great experience and I will defenitely never repeat it again.

They are gentle giants that are curious about humans. Their intelligence made them distinguish us from a seal and other sea creatures.
Makes you wonder, are we really the smarter ones??
It's only the small scrappy humans that cause havoc.
This brought tears to my eyes. They really do enjoy interacting with humans. Whales are truly magical and gentle giants.
wonderful
Noble giants. They have so much empathy.

I think whales are magnificent creatures, and I like what he said about their soulful eyes. So true about these ancient and intelligent creatures.

Damn, imagine how awesome that would have felt being so close to a giant...
When I look at the whale's eyes, I think
"So that's what it looks like to be fearless."
Awwh :) what a magical story! Whales are such amazing creatures :3
So beautiful! I wanted to cry. :)
So adorable. It just goes to show animals really are intelligent and emotional creatures. Not trying to be a hippie, but I just think they are wonderful :D
Absolutely beautiful! If only we could ALL see, realize, respect and protect the wonders this earth has to offer.
Remarkable story. One can only imagine what it felt like to be there.

I can't tell which of my passions will win over me: my gaming dream or my wish to work with animals like this. I hope to figure it out one day.

This animal is mentioned in the Wellerman sea shanty.
I would love to be a photographer! And I want to be one too! It'll take a couple of years, but hopefully I can maybe do something like this too!

They are the most sweetest creatures..😍..wish to be with them one day..
What a privilege!!😘
I cant believe we actually use to kill these amazing creatures...its saddens me to no end the horror we have done to our oceans...nauseating
Lots of countries still do, particularly Russia and Japan.
I thinhk it is fantastic good
That's because they're intelligent ,like we =)) (maybe not in our way ,but still) ,and they have their own personalities
There are only 400 of these gorgeous animals left.
nice

@LaurielLolz by saying im not posting a "SECOND!!!1!!!" post, your actually posting that post. lol anyways awesome video :D
We need to do something about the fact that there are only less than 350 right whales left😢

A weird looking whale but a whale nontheless and very loving
obviously highly intelligent. why do we tolerate the killing of them?
@saammula they are not wild, they are free...
What level scuba diver was he?
