    You guys do not realise how good this guy is! Change the whole scene by perfectly glueing together the raw and industrial genre.

    My friend, the thing you said about finding your own sound and not making just another hard track really struck me. Always when I make music and I like where my song is going, I listen to very popular hard techno tracks after and think to myself: "No one is gonna like this because it sounds nothing like the popular music".

    • @ExophoraMusic

      That’s a very interesting aspect of music, I was even thinking about making a video on this topic alone because in my opinion it could start a nice discussion about art, expression and the music industry itself

      @@ExophoraMusic When would you say you actually ‘found’ your sound? I am producing for a year now and am still just fucking around with any sample or plugin I can find, not really sticking to a certain theme/sound.

    • @ExophoraMusic

      Yo mate sorry for the late reply🙌
      I think I started to “play” with my first Fl when I was 14/15 (so around 2015)… I had so make so many mistakes and got rejected so many times before actually finding my way. Honestly I still feel like I’m searching for it, I try to put different elements/vibes in every track that I make bc I feel so free to experiment right now. My advice to find your sound is to get out of your comfort zone: you like hard techno? Try to listen to dnb. You like house? Try to listen to metal. This will help you open your mind so much and will 100% make you a better musician overall

    Bro unbelievable how much information you packed into this 37 minute video. You explained why you do what you do and kept reminding us that this is the way YOU like to do it and it is not the ONLY way to do it. Thanks for reminding that there are no "unbreakable" rules in music production. I've always believed that to find out how good someone is, you simply have to ask them to explain what they do in the simplest way possible. You did an amazing job, thanks a ton! Will be watching this video again and again. Your English is damn good, not just decent and I hope you make many more videos. Looking forward to your tutorial with Marcin!

      @@ExophoraMusic Dude this video is more packed than anything else I've found on UA-cam! UA-cam shows you videos about making kicks, or the bassline, or the "techno rumble", but this video, in my opinion, is the only video you need to cover the entire low end spectrum (and a bit of the high end and mids as I learnt here) for a hard techno track.
      I have two questions, if you have the time:
      You mentioned "triplet rhythm" here. Do you have some examples of such a kick? I tried to use Ikkhi's Frequency as a reference track once and there was so much happening on the tail that got me wondering "what is this sorcery".
      ua-cam.com/video/G2Esxx2Z-kM/v-deo.html
      I followed your tutorial and this is where I got kind of stuck. If we compare the punch that we've worked on so far vs the punches from your sample pack (ARTIFEX), the punches on the sample pack are so effing FAT. Is it just clipping with saturation or distortion? To go from here to getting a kick that is "loud" like the "KICK FULL" samples in ARTIFEX, what do I need to do?
      ua-cam.com/video/G2Esxx2Z-kM/v-deo.html

    • @ExophoraMusic
      @ExophoraMusic  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for your questions!
      1) to better understand triplets I think you should check out Mandragora - Sem Chao: during the first drop at 0:51 you can easily distinguish the triplet rhythm (count 1,2,3 every time the kick hits), while at 3:02 the “feeling” changes, and that’s because the track switch to a 4/4 rhythm
      2) this punch is pretty rudimental if you ask me..😅. Layering is key, also some more processing is essential to make it pop, I’ll make a more detailed video in the future covering specifically punches🫡

      @@ExophoraMusic I've been trying to recreate this, but after a VERY frustrating week, I've decided to drop this project. No matter what I do, it just doesn't come close at all to your work.... Even the first step with the misstortion plug in sounds completely different for me :(
      Its very handy to be able to manipulate your kick or tweak it here and there. I had something like this in my mind for so long thats why i tried recreating your work but i failed missarbly :(

    • @ExophoraMusic
      @ExophoraMusic  2 місяці тому

      Hey there! I’d suggest to try to use the steps as a “general guide” more than a very precise recipe. You know it’s not setting a knob to 25% instead of 30% that will make or break a sound, every time you make a kick it’s different and there is no secret formula…and that’s a good news🫵 to improve I think it’s way more important to recognise WHAT your sound needs and HOW to do it. Recreating 1:1 sounds is good to understand WHY you need for example to add distortion, but don’t worry if the result sounds identical or not, is more important to understand the concepts so you can use them to express yourself in your own way🫶

    Amazing video, plus great rizz 😂Are you creating a separate rumble or this kick is all the low end for your tracks?
    For future tutorial: maybe talk about how they do the cool sounding screech coming towards the listener? I think maybe they do lots of reverb and reverse the patch/sample?

    • @ExophoraMusic
      @ExophoraMusic  6 місяців тому +3

      During the drops the kicks is the only element that goes in the low end (excluding some kickrolls and fills, but only when the main one isn’t playing)
      Nice suggestion for a next topic! I’d love to talk about screeches 🦅
