@@Blewlongmunthe original isnt like that, its just that back then, there were curfews, and the lady didn’t want her parents to freak out, but the man wanted her to stay because of how cold it was outside. Not much hidden meaning behind it except what people thought it hinted at
@@priya_amethyst8347 So “I don’t care about your curfew, it’s cold so you should just stay here.” That’s still refusing to let someone leave, I’m sure after the 3rd time she understood that it’s cold but she still needs to be home for whatever reasons.
@@Blewlongmun Back then, staying at a man’s house was only something wives did- I think, and the lady was worried that if she stayed, there’d be rumors. The song sounds like a bad topic, but it’s really nothing bad at all. The lady was able to leave at any time, the man just wanted her to stay a bit longer because of the cold. She wasn’t forced to stay, the man just asked her to and gave reasons as to why she should stay, whether it be so they have more time together or just to stay warm. It’s a nice song that was just messed up by later generations
@@priya_amethyst8347 I agree it’s a nice song but the implications are there, she’s assuredly not ignorant and is giving multiple reasons why despite the cold she wants to and needs to leave. She knows it’s cold, that’s not enough of a reason but he keeps repeating it as if she should change her mind. She literally asks if he drugs her in the third verse “what’s in this drink?” “Your eyes are like starlight now” Seriously go read the full song, it’s very very pushy.
This is halirouls, I love how it returns to orginal of how the lady clearly doesn't mean her prostest with added level of just plian dark and crazy that was not in the orginal at all.
I could be wrong but I feel like it says more about the relationship she has with her parent(s) than it says about her relationship with him, the fact that she started a whole damn war just so she didn't have to go home
I coukd watch this gor hours, if there wasn't the twist. It's not bad, my favorite part is just how seemingly oblivious the girl is to the apocalypse outside while the guy doesn't react to the girls singing. I just find it relatable on a specific level.
"there's drones outside" "I really cant stay" "One's for something attached to it outside" "It's coming this way" "It's coming this way?!" "This is my last goodbye" "Don't say goodbye"
This was really well reflected and thoughtful. Kudos! I got into Scene Queen after listening to Babymetal! As a teen I enjoyed a lot of "softer" alternative music such as Linkin Park, Green Day and Muse among others. I enjoy a lot of the instrumentation and I respect the amount of experimentation and artistry in metal music(I almost even joined a metal band in high school as a backup keyboardist haha). But I never got really into it because of the amount of harsh vocals(I really need a good melody and dynamics in music), and a lot of the themes and vibes didn't really resonate with me. I always respected a big chunk of the metal community though, as I knew most of them are wholesome sweethearts. Enter Babymetal! They have phased in and out of my interest ever since I first stumbled across them between 2015-17. They brought the good vibes and melodies and an extremely stimulating juxtaposition of true metal and Japanese Idol pop. And in general the contrast between sweet and scary/dark things are some of my favourite things. Today they are my favourite group and I saw them twice last year. They even made me enjoy harsh vocal in moderation! All this to say: yeah! There is a place for more feminine and pop inspired voices in metal. There are more people out there who would enjoy the scene if they found their place in it. AND! Please check out Babymetal and talk about them if you haven't. Many write them off as a gimmick but after 10+ years of successful existence they really deserve their dues. Have a nice day! ✨️🫶🏻

Love bringing the subtext to the surface like that and making the song explicitly consensual IN ADDITION to being hilarious
It always gets me how overtly terrible the original is. "You cannot leave, screw your parents, you're gonna screw me."
