I absolutely LOVE the dynamic between Pacifica and the Pines. The way I see it, Mabel accepts Pacifica for who she is and treats her nice anyway, allowing her to experience kindness she never felt in her normal life. Dipper on the other hand points out her flaws and helps her fix them, making her an altogether better person. If Mabel wasn't there to open to up, Dipper wouldn't have been able to get through to her later. Dipcifica is probably the first noncanon ship that that I was ever in full support of because they have surprisingly good chemistry. Makes me wish there was season 3...

Ah, now we've reached my FAVORITE episode of the show. This one embraces all the darker themes and I love it. It adds more to what was a pretty one-note character at first, and implies some pretty uncomfortable subjects with the bell, and really pushed the envelope. Onwards to the episode that changes EVERYTHING.
I don't like Dipper and Wendy cause I feel some unbalance power dynamic between them. Dipper sees her like and idol and he seems very uncomfortable with her. But with Pacifica he is more relax and treats her like an equal.

I was watching this episode with my five-year-old son. When the taxidermied animals started bleeding from their eyes and mouths he said: "are you sure this is a kids show, mummy?" 😂
If a bunch of taxidermied animals start bleeding from the eyes and mouth while chanting "Ancient sins", you have to wonder if it's really made for kids.
i even dare to say she had more development here than Mabel on the last couple of episodes Pacifica showed thru the entire episode she was different than her family not just when the ghost turned everyone into wood, while Mabel had her "development" about growing up, just because Dipper forced her to, and the world was on the line.
I don't think it was pushed out I think they just didn't wanna change her entire personality. People learn but they wont immediatley change evrything. Read Lost Legends
Actually it has been discovered that the last episodes of the series were written before this one. That's the biggest reason, besides also taking a slow and realistic development in the comics

As much as I like Wendy, Dipper and Pacifica had amazing chemistry in this episode and would fit nicely together. (Yes, I have seen the entire series, no need to spoil it for them by replying)
At least they get another chapter together in the Lost Legends books. It's a shame the show didn't do a second summer with another two seasons, there would have been time for more of this stuff and I think in general Gravity Falls could have gone on a while longer.

My one main complaint with the show is how they didn't delve deeper into Dipper and Pacifica's relationship. It was great in this episode but didn't go further with it. (Dipper's best ship) Regardless, I'd say this is a top 3 episode of the whole series. Well written, chilling horror and absolutely amazing jokes.

In Lost Legends there is a whole story dealing with Pacifica and she is many time referenced in official mercy like the Journal 3 and official websites which is understandable why they had to stretch it out to this as with only 10 episodes left most focusing on THE BIG SECRET it would have been super hard to fit in.
I don’t usually ship characters because I find it disturbing, but Dipper and Pacifica bring a certain compatibility and relatability that it’s really hard NOT to ship them.

Still not too weird considering the abundant amount of "romanticizing" that occurs in gravity falls especially with mabel and how shes constantly trying to get with boys, it's a sort of innocent romanticization. So what I'm going at that it's fine as long as its harmless and innocent.
The next two episodes are some of the best episodes in the entire series! I cannot wait for you to experience them! They're both wonderfully put together episodes. The voice acting, the animation, the suspense and the intrigue are at an all time polished high in the next two episodes. I have no doubt you will enjoy them thoroughly and they will quite possibly take the place as your favorite episodes in the series, well all the way up until the finale that is....probably. I've rewatched this series more times than I can remember, and I love watching along with people that are new to the series - experiencing it for the very first time. It's almost like reliving it for the very first time myself, with how delightfully infectious everyone's reactions are. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time before I watched this series and see it again, not knowing what's going to happen and being blown away once more by this superb series. Alas, that can never come to pass - so I'll just stick with rewatching the series with people going in blind to give me that rush of wonder I once felt watching the series. It's almost as good as watching it for the first time...almost. It's been a delight rewatching it all with you guys; and I am looking forward to seeing the rest of your reactions to this amazing show!

Wendy’s 15 and Dipper’s 12. Honestly how they treat the age gap between them in this show is kinda silly. XD Hell, realistically, Dipper shouldn’t be so much shorter than Wendy. He’s only 2 1/2 - 3 years younger than her. Really the design is what makes it creepy, he’s designed like he’s supposed to be eight. But also, Dipcifica4life. I love them. I also love Mabifica. I will unashamedly admit this is one of my favourite episodes simply because of the shipping. I love how dark the episode is but I won't lie, the shipping is what does it for me.
I absolutely love this episode, and while I'm not sure if it is on the top of best episodes(cause there are a lot of really good episodes) it is definetely in my top 3 of favorite episodes. The funny thing I had happenning in this episode is that a couple of episodes behind I was thinking about who the romantic pairings would be if they had some, mostly cause there's a lot of dating stuff, and thought that Wendy was out of reach and my number 1 choice for Dipper was Pacifica mostly due to the golfing episode and some of their other interactions, I just thought would be a good story development if done right, and they absolutely nailed it.

It bothers me the way Dipper blames Pacifica and makes her feel bad in this episode. She spent her whole life being brainwashed, being shown off by her parents as if she's a doll, and only being praised for being the best because it made the family look good. Her parents are shit but she didn't deserve to be controlled and used like that, and she was still able to see past their stupid brainwashing. I love her and wish we got to see more of her.

@@ShizuruNakatsu you have to understand for the whole summer he thought she was a bad person, even during this episode UNTIL that conversation, the conversation they had about her not being like her parents that it's after he comes back (after unintentionally freeing the ghost), before, he treats her bad because he thinks she's bad, and he never had any reason not to think that, the only thing he knew about her was her being mean to mabel, he only realizes she's different after that conversation, and also realizes he had been mean to her for saying she was like her parents
this is one of my top 10, top 5, and top 3 favorite episodes. And here's an interesting tidbit regarding the ghost in this episode. According to the real-life replica of Journal 3, the ghost is named Archibald Corduroy. Who else in this show has the last name of Corduroy? Edit: He's my favorite character, she's dipper's crush and they're father and daughter.
I was curious about why the axe stayed when it came with the lumber-ghost from the fireplace. Now I believe that the axe staying is a representation that the ghost has resolved his worldly issues to move on to the afterlife.

It bothers me the way Dipper blames Pacifica and makes her feel bad in this episode. She spent her whole life being brainwashed, being shown off by her parents as if she's a doll, and only being praised for being the best because it made the family look good. Her parents are shit but she didn't deserve to be controlled and used like that, and she was still able to see past their stupid brainwashing. I love her and wish we got to see more of her.

@@darriongeorge5137 Because he talked to her and spent time with her in the episode? She didn't do anything that would make her "just as bad" as her parents. I just hate when people judge other people so easily, instead of trying to understand them.
@@ShizuruNakatsu you have to understand for the whole summer he thought she was a bad person, even during this episode UNTIL that conversation, the conversation they had about her not being like her parents that it's after he comes back (after unintentionally freeing the ghost), before, he treats her bad because he thinks she's bad, and he never had any reason not to think that, the only thing he knew about her was her being mean to mabel, he only realizes she's different after that conversation, and also realizes he had been mean to her for saying she was like her parents
