Great detail in your video will watch others for sure . Could you not use very thin card rather than paper to avoid any ridges when laminating the fins ?
Loved the original as a kid back in the 80's. Got this one and the upgrade to birch plywood so thanks for the reminder on the needed additional nose weight. Where would you source some good clay type material for that added amount? I think Hobbytown might have something similar to what Estes supplies but not sure.
@@REAR_rockets Thanks, looking forward to finishing a V-2 then on the the Big Red Max and an upgraded Super Vega. Also finishing an old Q-Modelling upscaled USS Andromeda. It's going to be a great summer.
dr. Dave, I am building a rocket from scrap materials from another kit, I designed it in open rocket and the simulation looks good... the only questions I have are thusly 1) with a baffle system, which I grabbed from the rocketarium chief ii kit, do I need vent holes for the rocket? 2) with the baffle system, and the fact that I am giving it a kevlar shock cord, I don't need to pack any wadding in the rocket for launching right? thanks your videos are very informative.
@@REAR_rockets thank you... It will be interesting as i learned for its smaller size a b 6-4 would be too strong... open rocket said a b4-2 would work though
Do you think this kit could survive a G-80 motor with the cardstock centering rings, and balsa fins? I am worried that it might be too much for this rocket.
man i wana buy one soon and a upscale goblin

You can use quite a few things as laminates. Cardboard is heavier than paper and takes longer to dry.

Hobby Lobby or the toy/craft section of department stores. You need plain modeling clay.

No vent holes and no wadding. Good luck with the build!

A G-80 might be a bit much, but a lower-thrust G might work.
You could reinforce the cardboard centering rings with a coat of epoxy on each side.
I can’t seem to find part 2.
It’s still being made. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the week.
