This is a very interesting video! my grandmother lived on pine island and believe it or not sometimes I would hear them blowing for grade crossings in cape coral/Fort Myers. How they got that excavator up on top of the hopper still puzzles me haha!

Sorry for the late reply, but I'm not very well-versed on SGLR. I know they operate almost every weekday, going on duty around 7 or 8am. I presume their Myrtle St yard is where they start
Pretty cool bit on a little known railway. You might wanna consider a trek to the FEC/NS/CSX collaborations here in JAX, lots of transfer freight...Recently had both UP, and KCS lashups here in Bowden Yard last week!. Always good stuff, best regards!
Nice video. Just as a little info, the 596 was painted in the full Seminole Gulf paint less than a year ago. Originally it wore an all-grey scheme with Bay Colony (BCLR) reporting marks. I think the plan was to send it up to Massachusetts, but that changed at some point. If finished the Bay Colony scheme would have the same orange/yellow stripes without the blue.
I know there's some progress on a few of the bridges that were destroyed, but I doubt I'll be that far south soon. It's quite far from Tampa, although I'll probably try to hit it up once my schedule eases out. Thanks for watching!
Is the track still pretty poor between Sarasota and Bradenton? Years ago it looked like they were changing it out around 70th street but I haven’t seen it since then

Some places are worse than others. I believe the fastest they get on that line is 10 or 15 mph
