Yes it it's. I thought I was high porosity until I tried the rice water rinse and my hair did not like it. Once I found out I was low, my hair feel in love with the low routine. Very little shedding especially during wash days. My hair is moisturized for dayzzzzz. I'm so happy.
@@Ashley-og9ti you may have already figured it out by now bit just in case, if you take a strand of your hair and sit in in a bowl of water if your hair stays on the surface, it's not absorbing the water meaning your hair is low porosity, if it sinks your hair can easily absorb moisture like a sponge, so it's high. If your hair stays under the surface but doesn't sink all the way to the bottom your in the middle.
I followed the rule... only shampoo your scalp. Noooooo... that didn't work. my hair would get so dirty and built up, so u stopped and miraculously my hair came out much more moisturized
Yep I had never done that before..and I've been natural my whole life...but then I heard ppl say oh don't shampoo ur hair just ur scalp and the rest would be clean when it rinses... wrong...the more natural butters and things I used the more I realized I was having build up because I needed to actually break up the butters by shampooing all of my hair..so personally I've switched back to shampooing all of my hair

I remember when I first went* natural & everyone was using coconut oil to seal so I figured that was key but it wasn't enough for my hair . I switched to olive oil .
KiannaOshun me too hun. Coconut just sat on my hair stands whereas olive oil really penetrated my hair shaft 😍 I share a lot of styles on my channel, hope you like what you see x
KiannaOshun girl I cant even use coconut oil. I never used to use it..but then everyone was like oh yea coconut oil is the go to- - okay so I got some, I even got a similar oil babassu oil. ALLERGIC!!!! I can’t even use coconut oil or any oil similar to it (or from that same tree I guess..) or my head feels like it’s bout to bust out of its cuticles.
Low porosity hair+cold water =hard and stiff hair😁😁 I don't use that rule anymore, I rinse my hair with warm water which makes my fine thin hair manageable!
I'm low porosity. I use the cool rinse with my deep conditioners. I find I have better moisture retention than a warm rinse after it air dries for a bit. No frizz, no straw like brittle strands, and less tangling and increased shine. It makes sense that a cool shot works for some low porosity people as ive read in various places that warm water keeps the hair shaft open and can cause some of the conditioning benefits to get rinsed away. I do however apply my products warmed up. I put my bottles of product in a sink of hot water while I shower and wash my hair. Moisturizing Gel, leave in, cream, and especially oils are all warmed, and absorb very well. Perhaps my hair shingles arent as sensitive to the cool water, but since I've done this my hair has thrived with this technique. Thanks for posting this, you push people to really listen to their hair and not jump on bad wagons just because their favorite influencers do something that's different and against the norm.
@Eimpress Mie Uncle Funky's Daughter Curl Gel. It has great slip and a little goes a long way. I've used it for a wet wash n go, and also used it on dry hair to shingle out the curls.
Sylvia BL u right... that makes sense so it wasn't so much the cold water thing was wrong where natural we don't need to act like we have relaxers I get it I get it this is great
Makes sense. Relaxed hair is chemically processed and therefore has a higher porosity level than it did before it was relaxed. The more porosity, the more likely folks will benefit from cool shots, silicones, and heavy oils because the more porous, the greater the need to plug the holes so the moisture doesn't leak out. I honestly think low porosity hair is a blessing now. Once you know just how your hair likes you to get the moisture in on wash days and refresh on the days in between, and if you've got a decent moisture/protein balance? It just thrives.
Two winters ago I started warm washing with regular shampoo , then greasing. No conditioner at all. For the first time in a long time I had no winter dryness, no winter breakage, maximum length retention.
@@hiroshima2770 Yes. I have low porosity hair and when I skipped conditioner it seemed like the grease was absorbed better into my hair while damp. My hair does better with light grease like Softee Indian Hemp.
@@Machenziethemodel yes you're so right.... I was working in sections... When I was doing the bantu knots in the first section I had to keep going back and redoing them... But by the time as I got to the last section, I only had to do each bantu knot once.
I've been natural 9 months and I already figured out to just listen to my hair. I don't follow any of the natural hair rules. Ever. I do what works for my hair and it's thriving. (using silicones mineral oil parabens and sulfate shampoo)
I know it's your decision & your hair may feel and look better, but keep in mind that these ingredients are quite dangerous & unhealthy not only for your hair, but also your skin & body
I knew what you were going to say as soon as I read the video title! I stopped using cold water on my hair back in 2014 when I saw an article (and then a week later a UA-cam video) about low porosity hair needing warmer water to open the cuticle. I noticed the difference instantly and haven't looked back since. Warmer water throughout the entire wash routine works way better FOR ME. Even when using a spray bottle on my hair, I put in hot water, so that it sprays out warm.
People are still finishing with cold water??? Lol I’m just playing but really though. I did that mess ONE TIME and never did it again. I’m not even low porosity around most of my head. What I found is that applying product to cold hair just made the products seize up, ESPECIALLY if it had a lot of shea butter or coconut oil. Warm water for absorption is a must especially if you are a wash n go natural like myself. I’m happy someone finally said this lol.
I used to ALWAYS do a cold shot right after I was done washing my hair without applying any products and once I kept using warm/ hot water my hair looks amazing each time! You’re really telling the truth😭 low porosity is no joke
Yes...on my last wash and go I didnt do the cold shot of water and before I added any product I saturated my hair with warm water and oh my goodness...what a difference...my hair is so soft and shiny...so u are right!
Really, as an up and coming Natural Hair UA-camr, I feel like you are just KILLING IT on SO MANY FRONTS! You do NOT follow the hypes that we can get sucked into here on YT. You're in your own lane but so super interesting. Your Promotion for your videos are on point. The Titles are intriguing and don't even get me started on how you have grown in Editing!!!! GREAT JOB!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾It pushes me to do better as well.
Your skinnnnnn. I feel like you aren't wearing makeup but if you are I can tell that your skin is still so clearrrr underneath. Chileeeee I told you on IG but using warm water helped my hair soooo much. I def used to do the cool shot and I really thought I was doing something. I thank you again for it. Somebody needed this word on this Sunday. Let the Lord use you Cousin!!! lololol
I have very fine, not very thick, 1A low porosity. I've been playing around with reverse shampooing (conditioner first, then shampooing roots while the conditioner is still in). I previously only used cold water, but now I start lukewarm before my conditioner so it can really sink in and switch to cold when I am ready to rinse my shampoo out. This works so great for me! But the conditioner is my only moisture product, after my rinse I only use a light gel for texture.
I remember when I had a relaxer and used to go to the salon they would use cold water to rinse my hair. Then when I would wash my hair I would also do this. Now I just use warm water. I'm going to start putting in my leave in condition in the shower. Thanks! 😘💝
Just realized that my daughter has low porosity hair, and found out that YES warm water works BETTER!!!!!!!! This video is going to help so many low porosity naturals.
Thank you for saying this Amber! I noticed a few months ago that the cold water was limiting my moisture retention! I appreciate you being candid about your growth !
Okay!, low porosity hair has close cuticles that's why we have hard time to get moisture in our hair, warm water is supposed to open, in which helps moisture to get into our hair... just explaining why what she is saying is true 😁😁😁😁😁👏🏾
Made a ton of sense, i had stopped doing this on my my daughters low porosity hair a year ago. I was seeing no benefit from doing it and her hair has been much better since then.
Amber can we please add PRE POOING to this list?? 😭 😫 For me, cold water is like pre pooing but at the end.. (post pooing? 🤔) When I coat my hair with ANY kind of oil an hour before.. a day before.. a minute before.. I shampoo and condition, it literally forms a barrier around my hair and nothing penetrates! The water takes forever to barely absorb, the moisturizing shampoo causes my DETANGLED hair to tangle, and even a deep condtioner that sits on my head for an hour does nothing! My hair ends up drying up within minutes after getting out of the shower and every product I apply afterward is a waste. instead of my hair being juicy, spongey, and soft... it's dry like hay, frizzy, temperamental, and weak. Does anyone else go through this???
Yep! I never pre-poo anymore, or if I do it's with a slippery conditioner or fresh aloe and not oil. My hair and scalp HATE being coated, my hair will just not respond to anything if coated. I pretty much only use oils and butters when they're emulsified into something water based, and even then I use products featuring heavy oils/butters (like castor oil and shea butter in the first 3-5 ingredients) sparingly. I'm with you on this.
I was wonder who else was going to notice this because I moisture my hair after the condition and it just made no sense to use a cold shot of water if I was still putting on more products. Preach!!!!
I had the same experience. And it's crazy that I just finished setting my hair in bantu knots like an hour ago and then I see this video. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
I use Sta-Sof-Fro to moisturize and detangle my kinky coils after washing it. I don't spend Fort Knox buying a lot of hair products and I am satisfied with this "Old School" product cuz IT WORKS!!
Hi Cousin! Very interesting. When my hair had heat and color damage I rinsed my hair with cool water and it worked because my cuticle was wide open. When I switched stylist and we were able to cut off the damage and grown new hair that was not damaged, I realized I have low porosity hair and have to work harder to get the moisture in. Now I rinse in warm water and when I deep condition I sit under the dryer. This allows the heat to work and help my hair absorb the conditioner. When I put on my leave in I find it’s good to put on a plastic cap for 10 minutes before I proceed with my styling products. Great video!
I tried it once when I still thought I was high porosity . I never tried it again . I’m 2 and a half years natural and I realized I had low porosity 2 weeks ago 🤣
I am sick of these natural hair rules. I do not prepoo, I comb my hair every time I style multiple times a week, I wash it 3-4 times a week, I do not protective style...and I have retained length better than ever.
I’d love to know your process. If I wash my hair twice in a week it tends to be drier than me just washing it once a week. I’m not one to really jump on band wagons. The cold shots worked when I was relaxed, but I also didn’t need to do a ton of moisturizing after I conditioned my hair. But if what you’re doing is working, I’d spread the message. Of course, didn’t things work for different people. Products that work for my friend don’t work for me and vice versa. That’s the only problem I see with the natural hair rules. One size does not fit all.
Thank you this washing once a month or every two weeks never set well with me personally. Growing up my mama washed my hair weekly. I do so every 3 days now.
THANK YOU! I have been doing this every since Cosmetology School and my hair stayed dry no matter what I did. I'm still a baby at been natural (2 yrs now), but I'm still learning my hair likes and dislikes. Simple and a very informative video. I will definitely take your advice starting tomorrow, thanks again!
I've been natural 2 years but, I've always worn protective styles such as braids(synthetic). I've only recently begun to learn, and build a relationship with my hair and honey 👀👀 there's so much I didn't know and these two weeks have enlightened me. I learned literally Friday I have low porosity hair. So this video is super helpful. Thank you
You're right! Sometimes you have to listen to your hair and not the instructions on the bottle. I did the cool shots briefly then realized it was hard for me to get me leave in to penetrate my hair and any other product. My hair has to be warm or my hair products. Once those cuticles are closed its wrap.
Girl you were on point with this vid!! Especially on that cool shot of water! I am a low-porosity 4c gal...gurrrl...it always feel like my hair isn't receiving the leave-in conditioner after a cool shot of water. My hair would literally cling to wide tooth comb like a light version of velcro while attempting to comb leave-in thru my hair. Thank you for this!! You are a BEAUTY!
I agree with you 100% After I finish washing my hair, I don't even put cold water on it, because I'm in the UK. So if I don't have my heating on, as soon as I come out of the bathroom, I find that the cool/cold air does the sealing, and that's within 5 minutes. By the time I start to apply my leave in conditioner, the product just ends up sitting on my hair. By the next day or the day after, I end up with build up. I'm going to try applying the leave in conditioner whilst I'm in the shower.
I scrapped the "cool shot" a while ago. My hairdresser told be it was the key to locking in moisture, but it never worked for me. My low porosity hair loves warm water!
I never understood blasting your hair with cold water and I have high porosity hair. I am going to going to apply leave in, oil and cream so why would I close my hair cuticles. I never understood that rule lol
I never did the cold shot, but i was getting out of the shower after rinsing out the conditioner. You make a lot of sense so i will be staying in just to put the leave-in in.
I completely agree as a bright cousin. I use to flat iron my hair all the time, so when I was on my journey to care for my wavy/loose curly hair; I tried some of the same techniques and was discouraged when they didn't work. I later learned that my hair is normal porosity and that applying a leave in when my hair 50% dry is more effective for locking in moisture. At the end of the day doing what's best for your hair is healthier than following the "rules". I love your attitude.
I'm glad that you did a video on this. I was just wondering if I needed to seal my hair with a cool shot after my dc. I hadn't been every since I realized that I have low porosity hair. I don't do my hair in the shower but I will spray with warm water before applying my products
Hmmm I do the cold shot and my ass is always like my hair is so dry after this shower geez 😒 I've been looking up low porosity videos and all the people have a similar hair texture to mine.
OMG I used to do this (cold shot) but when I tried your method my hair is sooo much more moisturized! I think I’m LP from watching GreenBeautyChannel and she did an in depth video of hair porosity. Listen this is a pro tip if you’re LP!
omg i recently found out i had low porosity hair a month ago & i've been natural for 7 years, i just seen ur video & omg my hair has never felt so moisturized, thank u so much
I have never heard of washing out your leave in lol, and I always wash my hair with hot water 😂 I dont follow all these rules , do what works for you love ❤
THANK YOU! You are the first person I have heard talk about this! I used to rinse with cool water, but realized that I needed my cuticles open for my leave in conditioner. So I stopped doing it. My hair didn't feel good after rinsing with cool water either.
So true!! I just started doing this, so happy you are talking about this as well. I don’t do the cool shots anymore and I apply my leave-in in the shower. Thanks for spreading the word to other low porosity curlies!
I'm medium and I rinsed with luke warm not cold cold just warm cold then I use aloe vera juice (cold from the fridge) as my leave in to close the cuticle
Oh ok yeah I heard that too and she did also say tha it helped with frizz but not moisture retention. I found that cold leave in conditioner helps reduce frizz while still allowing the leave in to moisturize
I have not really determined my hair porosity type yet. I do always wash out my conditioner with cool water then apply my leave in and my other styling products. My hair is dry by day 1 and sometimes on the same day. I will try this method of rinsing my conditioner with warm water to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the info.
I'm so glad you made this video. I too do my wash day with warm water. Deep condition with warm heat, under a hooded dryer. Rinse with warm water. This has up my moisture retention also. My hair is happy. ❤
Cold water makes my hair so stiff and feels so dry glad I came across this. I also started using shampoo with sulfates once a week to remove that build up after going no sulfates for the last year and seeing slower growth
Thank you! I started using cool water cause I heard it was better and my hair hasn’t been absorbing anything. My hair has thinned dramatically. I thought that moving to a desert, I should take more care of my hair. My hair was okay. After 5 months of trying to use as little heat as possible, it’s been breaking off like crazy.
I did it once and discovered the devil was a LIAR. How was my leave in suppose to soak in? Plus it was uncomfortable and I'm anemic.😆 Just cold and my hair was mad I tried that dumb ish. I thought it was a stupid rule anyway but I was willing to try. Never again.
I did the cold water rinse in the shower 2 days ago and i applied my moisturizer and curl defining smoothie to it. Baby the next day my hair was dry and ashy! My scalp has even more product buidup on it. So now I have to wash it allllll over again "(. But this is one tip I was unsure of but never thought it made such a difference to my hair. I am definitely letting this step go! My hair hates cold water. Thanks for the video I needed that !
I’m so happy I found this video ❤️ my hair did a 180 after I tried rinsing with hot water instead of cold. I always wondered why my hair felt so dry after a dc. I also started put my products in hot water before using them like someone suggested in the comments and my hair is finally retaining moisture and doesn’t look like a brittle dry mess!
Just as with overall health and wellness, gotta do what's best for YOUR hair. Should be the number 1 rule for each and every one of us. That said.... going on this natural journey as a massive community of sisters has been the most mindblowing thing this past decade. If you had told me in college when I was obsessed with my long straight hair that millions of us would be discovering the Joy's and challenges of our natural coils and kinks and learning and growing together?! GIRL! I would have looked at you sideways....
Product rinses better with cool water, bonds, micelles, polarity and all dat. Cool also closes cuticles, laying hair shaft flat thus making shinier when dry. FINAL rinse should be cool. In betweens pos and conditioners prolly not. And upon FINAL rinse when no more products to be rinsed the transition should be from warm to cool gradually. Also worth noting not evey product/conditioner penetrates the hair shaft so would no matter in terms of conditoning if that cuticle was sealed or not. Certain conditioners aim to close the cuticle. Product wasnt going in anyway. Lastly, although no particular order...pH....of water, shampoo, conditioner will open close cuticle so hard water even if warm can yield same. So take into account products and polarities, pH and pentrative properties. it all makes waay more sense then. Theres science to it. Helps make it more predictable.
Girl YES!! I have high porosity hair and I agree with this. A cold shot does not work for wash n go's !! I thought I was going crazy. So glad you put this video out there.
Before I get out of the shower I do a cool shot and put a shower cap on. This makes sure while I'm drying off my cuticles aren't releasing any of the moisture from in the shower. But when I start my styling process, I re-wet my hair with warm water to open the cuticles back up again. Who knows tbh
Yes! Definitely agree. I stopped doing this to my low po hair too. It makes sense in the grand scheme of things that we should be doing as much as we can to healthily allow moisture to get into those strands and a cold shot just doesn't work like. Then imagine sealing it with oil after that (haven't watched the whole video yet so don't hate me if u say this lol)! I stopped putting oil in my hair to style for about 2 years now. It did the same thing by cancelling out any moisture I can add in the week. And being low po that oil wasn't going anywhere! In or out lol
Girl, you just about gave me the best advice ever! I tried this method this morning in the shower and my curls are popping. Forever grateful for your advice. ❤️
I always wash my hair with warm water, but NEVER sealed my hair with a cold shot of water and I have Low Porosity hair. I pick and choose what I will and will not do to my hair. The cold shot was a "will not" for me.
Yes!I discovered this on my own, being low p.o. and hella low density that cool shot of water rinse is nothing but a hindrance, thank you for all you do sugar!
This makes sense and I never thought to put my products on in the shower. Wow!!! Two of your videos helped me to understand that I have low porosity hair. I had been eyeing the shea high porosity products, but I would never by them. And I am glad that I held off. I have recently noticed more low porosity traits. Thank you. You have a new subscriber.
I'm thinking I have low porosity too cousin. I used warm water to deep condition and it jus penetrated my hair shaft. There was no part of conditioner that was sitting on top. I also used my hot head but my hair loves warm water. And it's only two days that I've tried this. All along I had low porosity hair when I thought it was medium. No more cold shots. No more spraying my hair with cold water when styling.

I love Olive oil. Initially I did not like the smell. My hair is a Olive oiloholic, it drinks it up and ask it that all.
I hate coconut oil! Lol
Coconut oil is the devil! I don’t even use it on my skin 😩😩😩😩
Low porosity hair+cold water =hard and stiff hair😁😁
I don't use that rule anymore, I rinse my hair with warm water which makes my fine thin hair manageable!
Same here gurlll
@Eimpress Mie Uncle Funky's Daughter Curl Gel. It has great slip and a little goes a long way. I've used it for a wet wash n go, and also used it on dry hair to shingle out the curls.
Same here. You definitely have to find what works for your hair
wow i do the same thing
Does warming up your products effect the products negatively after a while?
The cold shot of water is used for relaxed hair. I remember getting the cold water during my relaxer days.
EXACTLY
Yes. My Mom always advised that when I was relaxed. Yup.
Very true
For the first time in a long time I had no winter dryness, no winter breakage, maximum length retention.
deva190 so you washed, skip conditioner and apply grease? Whet kind of grease and what kind of shampoo?
@@hiroshima2770 Yes. I have low porosity hair and when I skipped conditioner it seemed like the grease was absorbed better into my hair while damp. My hair does better with light grease like Softee Indian Hemp.
When I realized my hair absorbed moisture/products better when I rinsed with warm water, I never looked back. 😂
I have in bantu knots as I'm watching this... first time on my natural hair... praying we both have good results.
Laine F. H I just starting doing mines. After a few times you’ll do it like clock work. Plus it trains your hair to get use to the style.
Don't parabens cause cancer??
Majayah Battle I thought that was called a carcinogen hun
Myah Jamie a paraben is a carcinogen lol
antigua26 then she should know the answer to the question then huh?😂
I know it's your decision & your hair may feel and look better, but keep in mind that these ingredients are quite dangerous & unhealthy not only for your hair, but also your skin & body
“I stopped listening to the rules and started listening to my hair.” Yes yes yes yes. Also your skin is gorgeous! 😭💕🙏🏾
Just looking at your tumbnail, you have *gorgeous* hair like I'm jealous lol why men always gotta have the best hair? 😭😂
Bryson Knoel yep
Your timestamp comment 😂 I stoped using the cold shot.. My hair loves warm water.
Yes...on my last wash and go I didnt do the cold shot of water and before I added any product I saturated my hair with warm water and oh my goodness...what a difference...my hair is so soft and shiny...so u are right!
Chile I never followed this rule, it never made any sense to me. You're blocking out any products from getting in, that's a HUGE no no for me
I never followed it because it is unnecessary and there is so much science behind your cuticles to where it did not make sense.
Same thing! The coolness of the products will do all the sealing you need any way.
I was literally thinking about this! "I'm lo-po...why close my already tight cuticles like that??"
Same like i need something to get in there and cold water is defeating that purpose
I NEVER EVER EVER SEAL WITH COLD WATER ANYMORE!! IM LOW POROSITY AND I BRING THE HEAT!
Minerva Joy I know right! She's amazing. I'm also a small youtuber, would you like to support each other 😘
Your skinnnnnn.
Let the Lord use you Cousin!!! lololol
I stopped the cold shot too! It wasn’t working for me
Dezaree Angelina doesn't work for me either
Thanks! 😘💝
Did discover it awhile ago, didnt make sense to seal my hair when my hair needed moisture. Thanks for the video.
D.D. If it does not work stop doing it
I even prefer warm water with tea tree oil when doing hair styles. When I rinse my hair I still lower it a LITTLE bit but more lukewarm
I discovered that with my low porosity hair too! Hearing it from a another fellow low porosity sis is confirmation for me. New subscriber!
I am sick of these natural hair rules. I do not prepoo, I comb my hair every time I style multiple times a week, I wash it 3-4 times a week, I do not protective style...and I have retained length better than ever.
You "wash 3 to 4 times a week". And your hair is growing?...WOW! What shampoo do you use?
I wash my hair with lukewarm water then I end with warm water it really made a difference in my hair
Venasia Francis yep
I've been natural 2 years but, I've always worn protective styles such as braids(synthetic). I've only recently begun to learn, and build a relationship with my hair and honey 👀👀 there's so much I didn't know and these two weeks have enlightened me. I learned literally Friday I have low porosity hair. So this video is super helpful. Thank you
THANK YOU. My hair HATES cold water. Cool water makes it soooo dry
You're right! Sometimes you have to listen to your hair and not the instructions on the bottle. I did the cool shots briefly then realized it was hard for me to get me leave in to penetrate my hair and any other product. My hair has to be warm or my hair products. Once those cuticles are closed its wrap.
I learned that olive oil doesn't work on my low porosity hair
me either
Argan oil for me
GenesJewel argan yep
THAT EXPLAINS SO MUCH
I use grape seed oil and peppermint oil!
Washing my hair in sections - takes too long and I still get shampoo on my hair. It doesn’t work for me 🤷🏽♀️
I agree with you 100%
After I finish washing my hair, I don't even put cold water on it, because I'm in the UK.
I learned this in the low poo video and yes the difference is real... btw your skin is glowing!
Tell me why I just washed my hair and did the cold shot and I’m like strugglinggggg to make my hair moisturized 😒😒
Ahh I so glad someone finally said this. This “rule” never made sense to me so I never did it.
Listen this is a pro tip if you’re LP!
my hair loves warm water. thats why i hate going to the salon....they always want to use tepid or Luke warm water. No no no.
omg i recently found out i had low porosity hair a month ago & i've been natural for 7 years, i just seen ur video & omg my hair has never felt so moisturized, thank u so much
I have never heard of washing out your leave in lol, and I always wash my hair with hot water 😂 I dont follow all these rules , do what works for you love ❤
THANK YOU! You are the first person I have heard talk about this! I used to rinse with cool water, but realized that I needed my cuticles open for my leave in conditioner. So I stopped doing it. My hair didn't feel good after rinsing with cool water either.
I never could get into the “cool shot.” My body would cuss me out EVERY TIME I tried 😂😂😂
So true!! I just started doing this, so happy you are talking about this as well. I don’t do the cool shots anymore and I apply my leave-in in the shower. Thanks for spreading the word to other low porosity curlies!
I wonder how that goes with high porosity hair because I do the cold shot and don't feel like my hair retain moisture.
I'm medium and I rinsed with luke warm not cold cold just warm cold then I use aloe vera juice (cold from the fridge) as my leave in to close the cuticle
I get a lot of frizz and thought doing a cold shot would help stop it.
I always thought that cold shots were counter productive in the shower when you have low porosity hair.
I'm so glad you made this video. I too do my wash day with warm water. Deep condition with warm heat, under a hooded dryer. Rinse with warm water. This has up my moisture retention also. My hair is happy. ❤
Yasss I was always against the cold shot with my low low low porosity hair.
Cold water makes my hair so stiff and feels so dry glad I came across this. I also started using shampoo with sulfates once a week to remove that build up after going no sulfates for the last year and seeing slower growth
When you said “receptable” and put the GIF 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bella Sevyn girrrrrrl! Yes! I’m anemic as well and nobody talks about that! Horrible! You right the devil is a BIG LIE! 😂
😂😂😂😂 "the devil is a liar" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I did the cold water rinse in the shower 2 days ago and i applied my moisturizer and curl defining smoothie to it. Baby the next day my hair was dry and ashy! My scalp has even more product buidup on it. So now I have to wash it allllll over again "(. But this is one tip I was unsure of but never thought it made such a difference to my hair. I am definitely letting this step go! My hair hates cold water. Thanks for the video I needed that !
Idc if it works or not, I'm never killin my shower vibe with cold water lol
OH MY, I've been struggling with my product sliding off my hair and that is because I stopped using warm water. You're a hero.
This whole time I was like damn I wish I had pretty teeth like that I would never hide my smile behind my hands
I’m not doing the cool shot for all the reasons I mentioned in the video. But do what works for you 💕
The description 😂😂😂
Hey name twin :-)
Girl YES!! I have high porosity hair and I agree with this. A cold shot does not work for wash n go's !! I thought I was going crazy. So glad you put this video out there.
#firstcousins
Ayye! I'm glad I could help! And what's up new cousin?! ❤️
Buy...lol. I really should proofread before posting.
