I am a huge fan of this amazing movie. All of the actors did an outstanding job and the sound track was unbelievable. These women are gorgeous with great stage presence. R.I.P Irene Cara.
LONETTE DID SOME GOOD ACTING IN THIS MOVIE I LOVED THIS MOVIE STILL MY FAVORITE MOVIE I LOVED WHEN PHILLIP MICHAEL THOMAS AND IRENE CARA SONG TOGETHER NEAR THE END I GET GOOSEBUMPS EVERY TIME I SEE IT
My sister and I would watch this over and over and over, Love it from beginning to end, knew word for word and song for song, even the choreography, 😆 I have this on DVD and it doesn't leave my crib, LMAO, NO WAY!!
Love Aretha Franklin, but ADORE Lonette McKee's Voice. Wish they had an original soundtrack featuring the actors from the movie instead of Aretha's album as the soundtrack.
Thank you I didn't have to post it. The look of Satins girlfriend face was something else. She knew it was time for her to pack her bags. It the road Jack 🤦🏾♀️
The only reason people are saying the prefer Loretta is cuz she is prettier than Aretha but please do not get get it confused Aretha is the Queen of soul and you will never dethrone her! Ever!
We prefer Lonetta because we fell in love with the movie and the songs we heard on the movie. Aretha doesn't play in the movie and she shouldn't have voiced over the entire album. The movie and vocals were already perfect.
It's goes back many years when sparkle first came out. I was at the movie every week watching sister. And the rest of them sister had the unique way of doing things. It's kind of funny now I spent my little dollar $0.75 to see her mostly everyday I know her moods and know the songs all the way from New Jersey
Facts I hate Arethas version we all know she is the queen of soul but this song was not for her. This sing is to sexy for all that soul she has in her voice
@@rosalindwilliams2154 Just because her voice isn't on the same level as Aretha's doesn't mean she didn't do a better job of singing it. Which she did.
The director was in love with Lonette Mckee. He could've given Irene Cara and Dwan Smith a couple of closeup shots, but we don't see their faces anymore during the song after a couple of minutes. The camera was solely on Lonette.
I prefer the girls version of the songs because it’s a coming of age movie young girls that’s trying to figure things out and by them singing the songs give youthfulness to them.
Lonette McKee gave a master class in how facial expression enhances a performance.
Casting Lonette McKee with Tony King was absolute mastery in total step with times.

I’m still mesmerized by Lonette Mckee’s performance! Outstanding and truly a work of art!

Sister was such a beautiful and talented woman. Love her!!
I was so excited when my sister texted me this. I Love Love Love this movie so much. 💫🤗💎
Lonette definitely killed all of these songs! Should’ve been a separate soundtrack 🔥🔥🔥
ICONIC!
One of my faves! This music reminds me of simpler times.
When they did the remake of Sparkle it could not touch this Sparkle at all, this is the Best with Irene Cara!!!
❤❤❤ Sister and the sisters.
I love this song. Beautiful ladies
Love Aretha Franklin, but ADORE Lonette McKee's Voice. Wish they had an original soundtrack featuring the actors from the movie instead of Aretha's album as the soundtrack.

I grew up hearing Aretha's version because my mother wore that album out. I love this version though. RIP Irene Cara.

Sister can really sing the song better than Aretha Franklin
I don't think she could ever sing better than the Queen Of Soul.
Rosalind Williams I’m glad you said it, I was about to get disrespectful lol
That's disrespectful 😑

WHY IS DELORES SINGING SISTERS PART LOL HOW DIDNT THE DIRECTORS AND EDITORS NOT CATCH THAT
LOL, glad someone else saw that, I always wonder that seeing this movie, did she forget that she was only to sing her lines.
Before Satan they were happy singing together
Illovethismovie
Satin picked up everything sister was putting down
Tony King! Very fine actor.
Aretha's version is obviously superb, but I wish there was a soundtrack with this one included.
I AGREE
No....was not happy that she did the soundtrack at all
Such ah great record and performance classic very sexy
