Great swim but that D3 record should stay with Andrew Wilson to be fair. Kinda hard to call it a new D3 record when an SEC champ comes to D3 and shits on everyone. Impressive, nonetheless.
That, and Maximus dropped a 1:40.xx in high school, maybe still just a junior, too. Honestly, does anyone see Derek Maas at the Olympics? Good career, but not too many outside family will remember.
@@FriexMau5 It’s nice to see he’s becoming a doctor. Too many swimmers have too little to fall back on after the last meet. My point was simply that he may have beaten an Olympian, but he himself has no chance of being one. That’s just an odd fact, and a little context.
@@212ntruesdaleCompletely disagree with you brother. Name another athlete from ANY SPORT who has won multiple national titles while in MED SCHOOL…. I’ll wait… Also, every swimmer who competes at trials, especially wave 2, has a chance to make the Olympics.
@@KMaasTV Now that’s the thing to say. Med student wins national title, NOT he takes the record from an Olympian, implying that he’s got a shot at making an Olympic team. He doesn’t, if only because he’s a med student, tired out from that, not constantly training.
Insane swim
crazy

@@212ntruesdale needlessly harsh, guess every swimmer that isn't an Olympian is a nobody?

Really, come on he is a high-level DI Swimmer. Not fair to count
He’s at NYU, a Dlll program. What would you like him to do?
No surprise! Great swim!
so fun to watch!
Curious is Derek done after this or is he going to trials? And after that? With med school?
Trials, then he’s done!
Did Derek make the university change to pursue academics? Or was it something else?
Academics. NYU Grossman school of medicine.
@@KMaasTV interesting, that's really cool!
Спорт, это то лучшее, что придумало человечество 😊😊😊
Huge swim!
