Ingredients :
Menthya soppu ( Fenugreek leaves) 3 bundles cut and soaked
Bengal grams 250 grams soaked and kept ready
Guntur chillies 50 grams
One grated coconut
Oil
Turmeric powder 1 spoon
For Oggarane
Mustard 1 spoon
Urad Dal & Bengal grams one small handful together 1 spoon
Curry leaves one handful
Salt to taste

It is also called matwade palya. It ican be made with tur dal also. The palya tastes best with anna (rice) and saaru(rasam)

in tamil nadu they call it paruppu usui .common veg used are beans,carrot,indian beans (gorikai) cabbage

Ingredients:
Oil : 200ml
Menthe soppu( fenugreek leaves) : 3 bunches
Kadle bele : 1 pavu( soaked) 250gm
Red chilli: 50gm
Coconut :1 grated( 3/4 used)
Seasoning: turmeric, mustard , urd dal , Bengal gram, curry leaves
Method:
Add oil , turmeric, mustard, 1 spoon urd and Bengal gram, curry leaves , then add washed and chopped methi leaves once it gets cooked add the paste of soaked Bengal gram and red chilli, keep stirring add grated coconut and salt as per taste

We dont use Red chillies for mathodi we use green chillies with Channa dal for grinding
S we use green chilli
Also we puthalf kase bele and half thogari bele soaked for 2 hours while grinding jeera 1 spoon one spoon hing
After the palya us ready we switching stove and add lemon juice one spoon
Though we take 2 kattu Mentha soppy after its done the quantity reduces
But it's a very heavy food we can have as it is or along with curd rice

ಅಂಥಾ ಸ್ಪೆಷಲ್ ಏನಲ್ಲ, it is normal Menthya soppina palya. Too much of Hype. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹುಳಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರೆ ಮೆಂತ್ಯದ ಕಹಿ balance ಆಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. With due respect to Madam Ahalya bai.
I have tasted this type of palya at many hotels and caterers and as per my findings it is not about ingredients and measurements. It is more about the culinary skill of timing and boiling which enhances taste. So ಹದ is what we look for

1. Majjige Huli
2. Menthya huli
This Maatoda can also be made with beans, chapparada avre Kai etc
