I like that you speak to your coworkers like humans and thank them when they help you. That is something you don't see enough of these days. That is a sign of good character on your part for sure. Will also make them more willing to work hard helping you.
couldnt agree more, i spent 10 years working for a small tree service generally 3 of us total and when you did stuff right was the only time the boss stopped bitching lol. he wasnt a bad guy just used negative reinforcement
@@mikethompson5966 keeps you motivated and engaged doesn't it? looking forward to going to work and doing a good job. I know thats how i am when i feel respected and appreciated.
Honestly it's only getting better nowadays. Tree industry compared to other trades definitely has a higher share of asshole, screaming journeymen, but man 20 years ago it was way worse. From what Ive heard from my journeymen it was a pretty common occurance for groundsmen to just quit and walk right off sight because they'd get chewed out and brow beat for literally anything.
When I didn't see any knew info from you I was afraid you had given up. Nice to see you are back it. Of all the climbers on UA-cam you are the most interesting to watch. We get to see you learn and progress from your first videos. Plus it looks like you've got a good crew that cooperates, and a good roper. Keep it up dude.
That final cut was awesome how he wedged it & with chainsaw still in one hand a couple of strikes with the hammer in the other, only to casually walk away, then dwn she went . Fucking awesome
The only thing that would have increased the "baller" effect would have been if the wedge was attached to an auto-rewind spool and re-holstered itself as you walked away.
Hey man i love your videos and i try to watch all of them. i work for a tree company doing line clearance and i am decwnt in the bucket but struggle with climbing and i was wondering if u could do a video on techniques with spiking and also roping and rigging thanks keep up the great vids!!
Sidarius Bran. You don't want to spike doing line clearing. If you do to just get in the tree... Because of no laterals.. Once you get up there... Take them off and throw them down. Which Company? I worked for ABC up to about a month a go.
Trust your gear. Don't try to work fast, speed will come with time. Two points of tie in when cutting, either two lanyards if you're cutting on the way up, or your life line and a lanyard after you have tied in. Keep your hands on your lanyard and "flip" as you go up, do not hug the tree. If you gaff out, having your hands on your lanyard will stop you from going on to much of a ride, but if you're hugging the tree, you'll end up getting a nasty case of tree rash/burn as you slide down. Knowledge is the most important thing you can have in this industry. Do not take short cuts, and become well versed in proper PPE, felling, and cutting techniques. Do not be afraid to back out of a tree, not matter how much the other guys may dog you and talk crap. Be safe. And I understand doing utility line clearance a lot of companies still spike trees for production, but become educated in climbing without spikes as well. Single rope technique as you get more advanced. Dont take risks, dont guess about things, and always be safe, no matter what.
I am so relieved you got a new job bro, my wife said "no more watching Human's videos until he gets a new job, No Slackers!" Oh ya nice to see the SpiderJack back in action! :-P
I have actually gona all the way back and watched every video he has posted. And I am a cat lover so I think Gibbs is awesome cause I like NCIS as well.
Cory Learned a trick on Buckin' to lay the chunks flat on the ground. He uses what he calls a Swanson. After making the face cut, he takes and makes a diagonal cut below and into the bottom of the face about six inches below the face so it comes into the face about three inches. When he does his back cut the chunk starts to break it then just slides off and lands flat. The face cut doesn't have the leverage on the edge to start it flipping. My son, who is a climber, has used it and his comment was, "Dad, where did you learn that? No one ever saw it before. It is so cool!"
I would strongly recommend against that same thing until he gets certified as a trainer. Big lawsuits have happened over idiots trying to kill themselves with a chainsaw and blaming some poor fuck on youtube. Thats why he says "this is not an instructional video" on some of his work
Awesome gotta love those White Oaks. I moved from NC and was spoiled with straight pine spurs most of the time but when I got to Missouri it was another world altogether.@@Human1337
you do very good work I do the same work as you in belgium I also make video It would make me happy that you make a tour on my channel to tell me what you think continues like this!
I learn a lot by watching you cut trees. We recently moved to a property with 4 big trees that need to be removed. What have I learned? Hire a professional.
The technique for "laying them flat" is not as much in the cut but in the aspect ratio of length of fall to length of limb being fallen. I'm sneaking this viewing in at work so I don't have my copy handy but my reference is a book titled "The Fundamentals of General Tree Work" which I highly recommend. Nice work!!!
Human: “I’m going to do this technical thing to avoid hitting the fence, instead of this technical thing and hit the fence”, Boss man on the ground: “I don’t give a sh!t” Human: “.....” Okay
Human said if he cuts it to land flat it may hit the fence and if he cuts it another way it won't hit the fence but it won't land flat. The boss said he didn't care if it landed flat as long as it didn't hit the fence. Previously there was a discussion about roping everything down to avoid obstacles on the ground you can't see in the video along with the fence. Also, how doing that would take a long time and that it was up to Human to make the call. Corey's ability, magician like on some of those cuts, is greatly appreciated at that company. I know all of this because I'm the guy in the flashy red pants.
@@brianbarrett8739 If he is the same in person as on his videos, your a lucky man to be working with him. Any chsnce you could do videos or a tutorial as such with regards to felling and some of the cuts in the tree also?
How long does a tree that size take up to limb out? I am entering my 2nd season climbing and want to know what it takes to get real good.
Every tree/job is different, no way to say, all depends.
Like I said before! !! Nice!!
Awesome as always be safe
Cool vid
thanks.
Good job human😎😎😎
Surprised I didn't hear a chipper in there. Were they just hauling everything away?
yep, it's a new company
onya mate hope the new crew fits well.
Good job
Nice work... I have a tree that I want cut... After watching your video I think I can do this...
love the slide cut at 8:08
Theres some VERY nice houses in Wildwood area.....
Nice work. How long did this job take?
Is this wildwood in Ontario?
Love all the videos, did I see you climb with the SJ3 ? I work on the 2.1 so am interested how different they are ?
Never tried the 2.1
You switch from zigzg to spiderjack 3. It's better for you?
I like them both, but the spiderjack I like a bit more
Super videos i linke it
Only thing that really would make your channel better is a saw mill that way you can add more money for more tree climbing gear
Have to have a market for the lumber and to pay for the mill. Faster to sell firewood less overhead, i have a tree service lol.
Alex Matthews what he said.
These are good days to cutting!
"Don't they have hearing protection in Murrica?" My thought in every video... Good job
More often than not on the ground, rarely in the tree though
What model is that?
BEAST ENDING!
Uhhhh ohhhhh my hella funny comment is gone....😬😬😬
"You can write that down - I don't give a shit about flats"
Good to know!
I see a lot of improvement.
Good luck on the new employer, I do miss the have a good one human at the end tho

Have a safe day Human
Doesnt cutting trees get...boring?
No.
That ending! (Walks away slowly as tree shows itself to ground)
Back to work!
It's just Human s nature to be felling again.
