Rest in peace high on mountain brethren, let him wash the sins with his gifts, showing way for man to rise in ones self. I love you Lee, Farvel brother.
What are you talking about. Lee Perry had nothing to do with dub. He was a reggae producer and his so called "dub" albums where either simple roots reggea instrumentals without a dub remix or they were mixed by TUBBY. King Tubby is the inventor of dub, not Lee Perry.
@@anothersound4247 Okay, he had to do with dub, in the sense that he made a lot of reggea productions. He gave those tapes to people like Tubby and they made Dub versions out of it. So Perry was one of many producers who were producing the instrumentals for the dub versions but he was never a dub mixer himself. So, no disrespect against Perry but i don't get why people cite him always as one of the co founders or even THE founder of dub, when he himself never made a dub mix in his whole career. On the other hand people like for instance Sylvan Morris who made most of the "Dub Specialist" mixes and dub albums don't get enough credit. I get that Perry was an exotic and excentric guy so the focus was often on him more then on some guy who spent all day in the studio instead of putting it on fire but when someone tells me that Perry is the "architect of dub" i still beg to differ. And even as a producer he was only at the right time at the right place. His productions were nothing special except that they were pretty low-fi and sounded extremely muffled but nowadays people act like this was a style when it ws just based on technical issues through to much track bouncing and having only 4 track at the time. I would choose Studio 1, Junjo or Jah Thomas productions over Perry's stuff anytime.
Just got the sad news that Lee Scratch Perry passed away... I know he's now jamming in Heaven with the other legends that have gone before...God bless. Peace and love and my deep condolences to Mr Lee Perry's family and friends.
Interesting! Always thought Conscious Dub (2nd track on this album) sounded like a 'Scratch' production. I got it on a 'Ballistic' 12" single by The Jolly Brothers. Scratch is not mentioned or credited on the label...Always thought this a lovely and timeless Sound ((-:

Your dubs will be forever
Lifelong fan.. just found this! What a gift just as he passed the other day. So sad to lose L$P. May his music live forever! xxx
I was definitely taken aback when I herd he passed back in August. Lee Perry was definitely ahead of the game and on a higher wave length.
I have listen to this every day since my only idol has ascended... I feel a missing energy on this planet.
LSP is not dead - he lives through music and esprit. Fight the power

Oscar Romp The Jolly Brothers did the vocals while Lee Perry produced and mixed it. Why they didn't credit him on their record I do not know

Yes. Sounds like Perry's characteristic Mutron Bi-phaser sound working here.
