This exactly what I had envisioned the Scarlet Crusades origins to be, bastions of humanity that survived the undead onslaught who were driven into a corner. They turned into fanatics because no one came to their aide. It makes sense why they ended up the way they did, they were desperate cut off from the rest of the continent only able to fend for themselves. Anyone who was thrown into that situation would have made the same decisions.
No? They were driven to fanaticism due to a combination of the Light offering some degree of protection against the Scourge, the Scourge being able to use human operatives to infiltrate and destroy entire towns and cities, the manipulations of a Dreadlord, and the already slowly rising zealotry within the people of Lordaeron. I also find it hard to believe that the Scarlet Crusade were "isolated" as you claim, considering their influence moved all the way down to Stormwind and across the seas to Kalimdor and even to Kul Tiras, which was completely unaffected the Scourging Of Lordaeron. Hell, Barean Westwind, a Kul Tiran, was given command over the Scarlet Fleet, the naval power of the Scarlet Crusade.
I wish the scarlet crusade were an actual threat, and over the years of warcraft the more fanatical and deranged they were, the more powerful they become.
Been playing for 20 years and thanks to this video only now understand WTF actually happened. Amazing visuals!
Annoys me to hear that. So many games have great lore, but they either fumble the exposition or don't do it at all, leaving it to books youtube etc. to pick up the slack. Stupid.
Same with me, I've been playing since Vanilla and I guess I completely forgot that the Scarlet Crusade were the survivors of Lordaeron, like I'm sure I knew it at one point, because I used to read at least 90% of all quest text up till the cata expansion, when the writing started going downhill.
You knew all along, but decided to turn a blind eye to the Scourge and also fapped off to Priestess Whitemane most nights

@@laidbackguy333 Probably because they started with a movie, which somehow requires the viewer to be at least slightly immersed in the lore.
A tv/platform series that slowly introduced the lore/background and that evolved to various complex intrigues, which the lore is rich in, could potentially be a hit.
The movie was also produced in a time, where special effects/animations required a lot more time to do and were insanely costly comparatively to nowadays.

Incredible job bro. I think you captured perfectly what made so many of us fall in love with WoW's lore and what we all imagine in our heads when we're exploring these areas for the first time. Wow, this one is truly amazing!
I became obsessed with the Crusade after obtaining my Corrupted Ashbringer during vanilla WoW. Thanks to transmogging I went after every single piece of plate-armor in the game just to try to find the perfect combonation of items to look a like the Crusaders. I am so bummed til this day that I lost my computer and the drives to thieves, losing tons on clips and screenshots. I only have a short video of me in Stratholme and a screenshot uploaded in UA-cam. Nevertheless, this beautiful video brought some great memories back as this is my favorite part of the Eastern Kingdoms.
Damn I didn't think anything can reignite my interest in WOW lore, but this flick certainly has done that. Great job, author :)

Been waiting for this! The Scarlet Crusade has been one of my favorite stories in this game. I still hold out hope for them to release the nicer tabards someday, since I’ve been pitching for that for like the past 18 years lol. One of their best storylines.

Ya I feel like this video is a great example of proper use of AI. The person making the video still put a lot of effort into it, but AI allowed it to be as well produced as some AAA trailers.

they NEED a standalone storyline/book/game for Scarlet Crusade
They have an entire series going over their creation, rise, and fall into insanity. They've also got a manga going over the creation of the Headless Horseman, who was a Scarlet in life.

Unfortunately sadly they despise King Genn Greymane and Tess Greymane, and Calia Menethi as monsters and fought against them, there's a quest line called reclaiming Kingdom of Gilneas, there a reason why they defeated the Scarlet Crusade

The stories from the original game were pretty dark, which i loved as an edgy teen. The Frozen Throne is all about how villains win, and there wanst even an Alliance campaign. And wow through Cata tried to match that vibe.
