I have been able to Mark as watched for more than a year. Fantastic feature but it really isn't new.
Question for Luke..why doesn't UA-cam TV let you delete recordings ? Seems like they would benefit also by freeing up space of all those recordings..thank you
It is strange that UA-cam TV does not let subscribers _“delete”_ recordings and just allow those to clutter up their space, but UA-cam also does not actually record separate individual copies of a program for everyone, who requests one. UA-cam records everything, whether or not anyone selects a specific program for their own viewing; for example, a paid infomercial is likely never going to be deliberately picked out. This is why only the time alotted is recorded for a program, despite live sports almost always needing more time. There should be enough data and even user sourced confirmation enough for UA-cam to know, adjust and splice together the actual length of overrun, but for whatever reason, UA-cam TV opts for the bare minimum. Customisation is otherwise kind of difficult, since everything is automated and based strictly on time. Whilst it is a straightforward and simple system to just set and forget, it is not the most effective nor customer friendly. UA-cam TV’s DVR scheme is more infuriating than comparable to actual cable providers’ harddrive offerings.
A full football match should absolutely be available to view as one single continuous recording in this twenty-first century, within an hour after it has finished airing! A simple rain delay could easily knock these into a third or possibly a fourth time slot. I am not suggesting that they try to cut out the extraneous rain coverage, since fast forward is a thing, Al will likely be capable in assisting with this soon, but the entire match should be contained within a recording of the actual event you selected.

@@GeorgeVCoheaCable providers have gotten away from hard drive boxes and have moved to cloud DVRs. Xfinity has a great cloud DVR service.. Spectrum had to shut down their entire system in May because it wasn't working correctly. I have no idea if it's up again. The UA-cam DVR isn't perfect, but I'll take it when compared to the price of cable now.
Also, UA-cam TV automatically adds time to sporting events that run long. Last weekend a NASCAR race was delayed by 2 hours because of rain and UA-cam's DVR still recorded it.

Yeah, they're supposed to be putting a few up early next year after doing some beta testing with satellites they put up eariler this year.
Either does Musk with Starlink, Dish Network or SiriusXM. It's always been a big lie. You are connecting to ground stations with signals being bounced off the ionosphere. How do you think Grandpa with his shortwave radio was picking up Poland before there were satellites.
I pray that Paramount Studios doesn't get sold off because it will likely ended being another housing project and Hollywood will lose another iconic property. Currently, the iconic Sportsman's Lodge restaurant hotel where many Hollywood stars used to congregate is becoming a housing project. Housing is important but not to sacrifice iconic, historical sites. Guess, Red Box is throwing in the towel.
I’ve been watching that closely as well. It’s such an iconic American studio and brand. BRANDS. Its library is full of YEARS of classics and hits spanning decades. I don’t want to see it become like Sony or MGM. At the very least, if it gets sold off.. I hope the new owners keep a lot of it together and keep the studio and production company in business….
I guess it wouldn’t be terrible to see CBS and Viacom separated. It would drop much of the cable channels but that isn’t what made paramount pictures what it is anyway. That’s all modern more recent transactions unifying the two. Cable channels are just loosing branding and reach anyway. They’re becoming offerings in FAST TV.
CBS and Paramount Pictures prob stronger without the rest.
I guess the biggest hope is to see paramount still making big budget films for years to come and cbs to maintain its network domination
Idk why they're adding TVshow specific channels.... TWD channel and not portlandia channel... That's ridiculous... If I wanted that I'd watch Pluto TV... Who watches these channels? They should have added MeTv

Heard you say after Fire TV lost connection that Roku doesn’t do that- oh yes it does! I quite often get low power notice saying USB port doesn’t provide enough power when Roku is connected to AC power; I also get a screen saying all HDMI ports must be 2.1 in order for this channel to work when nothing has changed. FYI. connected to p
UA-cam TV needs to bring back the regional sports networks it would be great if UA-cam TV had the regional sports networks as an optional add on for additional $5.00 to $10.00 a month.

Add Newsmax, Science Channel and Reelz. Maybe bring back MLB Network.
The channels they just added are no good. I don't watch them. Add H&I, Metv, Laff channel, antenna tv, catch comedy. These are good channels.
I wish they (or Hulu Live TV) would get all the MeTV channels like Frindly has. It would bring me back to their subscription.

I guess you're not in the loop. Live PD and Live Rescue
ended in 2020. They were able to create a new version on Reelz called On Patrol Live. Also I don't think Chris Hanson does To Catch A Predator anymore.

BET needs to go back to it's original purpose and that's why Byran Allen or Tyler Perry would be better for it from my experience growing up watching it. It was more centered around the better things in our culture. Paramount needs to make up their damn mind. It doesn't seem like any offer is good for them.😒

QUESTION FOR LUKE-you always survey your readers about what streaming device we like best. Well, how about you? Which device do you like better? I know you always say you have all of them but which do you LIKE better? And why?
I'm surprised Red Box is still out there. Blockbuster is in the dustbin of history and Redbox is heading towards that way. We can stream everything. DVD are passe.
Unless you cannot get higher speeds from your ISP or actually want to OWN certain content - if you've ever looked to watch something that WAS on a given service only to find out it's been dropped from their catalog then you'll start to understand. For convenience a home media server might be the best of all worlds.

When I cut the cord about a year and a half ago, they offered me a Comcast/Xfinity flex box. So far, I like it! I know there are other streaming players out there. I do get free content now and then when Comcast offers a week free here and there. My plan is to return the flex box the instant they ever want a dollar for it. Also, I have a fire stick. I hardly ever use it. What do you think of the flex box?

Questions for Luke. What will Redbox do with their DVDs when they go under? Is a buy out more likely or will they declare bankruptcy and fold? I'd be happy to expand my DVD/Ultra 4K collection if I could do so for pennies on the dollar.

Hey Luke, Your video is the first one I watch every day. I wonder why you don't just put up a static image of streaming system in the background. It would not time out or be affected by internet outages.
Just would have to figure out a way to do that.
I would have preferred Comcast to wait until Amazon came out to see what the better option would have been cost and experience wise.🤷🏽♀️
The reason Comcast went with Starlink is simple. It will take many years for Amazon to get their satellites launched at sufficient numbers to have a robust enough network in place. Starlink has what no one else has and that is a very effective manufacturing and space launch system.

Apparently being a talking head/script reader is harder then one thinks.
I know for a fact that this is the case - we routinely have to "make videos" in my job and it's some of the toughest stuff I have to do - the "one take" and no edits tells me that he's pretty darn good - he'll smooth out the rough edges.
