About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies. - Розваги
I started a tea garden this year & planted chamomile, mint, spearmint, lavender, peppermint, sage, basil & rosmary. I don't ever want to have to buy tea again in the stores. I have a cup of chamomile every night before bed.
Thanks for the video!
I’m so excited that you shared the benefits to your garden. I’m getting it into my garden immediately! 👏👏👏
we did the same this year as well just not sure what to use our spearmint with? But yes the tea is great in the evening.
jess Carey just up the spearmint leaves fresh or dry in hot water.
Watch that Rosemary over time it will get huge!
I grow lemon balm. That makes a lovely soothing drink that helps you sleep.
I have Ulcerative Colitis and I’ve been growing and making Chamomile tea for 5 years and so far I’ve been symptom free for those 5 years. It really does soothe my gut!
Thanks for this information.
@Magic thanks so much. Sounds tasty too.
Wonderful
Thanks for that information.
It's a natural anti-inflammatory also. Works amazing.
I love when you talk herbs, Stacy!
I didn't know chamomile was a good companion plant. That's really neat. I want to grow some now for all of the reasons you explained Stacy! Thanks for sharing. :)
she lyin?
Drying extra herbs is also a great way to use them all. I even hang them in my barn and add last years to the chicken bedding keeps the barn smelling a little better.
You need to write a book about homestead wisdom.
From Lil Giant Chamomile, in a lot of water, is great for colic in babies. The color should be very light because it is so watered down. Soothes the cramping, etc.
Reduces blood sugar levels naturally..calms nervous tummies too..Grandma knew😘
Thanks to the person that recommended this channel 👍
I grew some in the high desert of Arizona a few years ago. It was such a cheery, beautiful plant. I made bouquets with zinnias to give to my fellow gardeners. Thanks for the wonderful reminder. I'm gonna get some seeds!🌿😍

I am dehydrating herbs almost every day. Today are rose petals to use in my homemade vinegar for a hair rinse. I am also following Heidi at Rain Country. She is also a wealth of information. Thank you for all you do.
Yes,😃❤️👏🏼👏🏼 more of these with each herb talks, also like you showing how to mix with other herbs to create various tea mixes...etc. also the use of the sun oven as a dehydrator😃👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Stacy❤️. Can you do one on “Marigolds” going over the different types and what they are good for. Which you would make a tincture or a salve etc. thank you in advance❤️
I too love chamomile...I let it just go wherever it wants in my garden but have one big patch that comes back every year. They are such happy little flowers!!! 🌼

There's and old saying, (Like the old English chamomile bed, the more it's trodden, the more it spreads). Apparently it likes to grow along paths where the soil is frequently disturbed.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge of herbs!
German chamomile is an annual plant that grows 6 to 26 inches tall has white flowers and starts to bloom when days reach 17hours long. Start inside between march and may and plant out after 8 weeks of growing inside. harvest july on and let selfseed for next year or repeat the process every year.
this takes 85 to 105 days to bloom.
Love it! Thank you for sharing!
