I'm guessing this is an attempt to replicate some of the techniques used in the end scene of 2001 A Space Odyssey using video... It starts with a glass plate pour, a backlit mixture of oils, sand, and dyes that are poured slowly onto a huge glass plate which is filmed from below. Other elements are primitive CG. This footage was combined using some old-school video tricks, such as camera-monitor feedback, which was carefully controlled through camera positioning. It's all in the mixdown.
The bug crawled on the sides of the house and fell down while the door opened to be seen from inside. Another piece of animated work by Lynch, which usually can be described that sequences happen one after the other. Well, things have to be continued so a film goes on.
iPhone 5 is the black monolith from 2001 A Space Oddesey!!! Check out Melodive this is so wierd...I always thought of Melodive as a cross between the last part of 2001 and the asteroidfield-scene with the Millenium Falcon in Star Wars... I had never seen this before I am amazed! if you like this you must play Melodive. It´s really nice and relaxing or really superfast! And Yes, I am a Melodive Master!
Imagine making these images in 1979... Amazing and underrated for sure...
This is what you see after you die
For some reason it reminds me of PS2 starting scene and music
Like a hypnotizing thing for sleepiness

thank you for the insight.
i'd call it artists being inspired by artists, as kubrick was inspired by funeral parade of roses (1969) to create a clockwork orange
one of the best experimental shorts i have ever laid my eyes upon, and from the director of Funeral Parade of Roses no less!

It's like 2001: A Space Odyssey but not
Assustador e bizarro, porém, ao mesmo tempo carrega uma certa beleza. Talvez porque eu seja um admirador de Scanimate... ou não!
Another film best played with the _Doctor Who_ theme in the background.
Just needs Pertwee's face...
awesome screensaver
... for 1979, it’s far out.
