- i've played a lot of jazztronauts but i've never seen this documented anywhere. so, i've decided to record my findings.
OUT OF UNIVERSE DESCRIPTION:
Hello! This is an old project of mine from a few months ago. I've decided to release it in it's current state instead of trying to perfect it. If people like it, maybe I'll continue this concept!
This is a Bartender AU, which is funny considering Bartender isn't really my favorite character. This AU also deviates from canon, not by much at the moment but it will grow as time goes on assuming I decide to continue. To summarize the future plot without spoilers: "Why are there a bunch of taller Bartenders floating in the void?" (story wise of course, lol)
The current name of the AU is "Persistent Pain", but it may change.
Shopkeeper is a scottish fold incase you were wondering why their ears are curled.
Please note this isn't really an ARG, as I'm not planning much interaction between the audience and the in game world.
Also note that this is not an actually playable mod. I mean, it is technically a mod but its all smoke and mirrors and console commands to activate certain things(such as the missing propsnatcher cutscene). I have no plans to make it actually playable.

honestly the player being able to decorate their room with brushes/props they find like little big planet would rule but also probably collapse source engine

waow.. year of our lord 2023 and jazztronauts is still getting really good content produced for it. between this, brass tax, and the jazztronauts twitter becoming active again (as well as all of the jazztronauts content uploaded onto the steam workshop recently???) there's been a lot of good jazztronauts content recently!! of which this of course numbers
especially love touching on the Bartender, because the Bartender's history has always been a really interesting thing in the original jazztronauts that i never really saw many people talk about!! and of course i just love her to death. so.
anyway past that also love the characters of the shopkeep - and also the player! it's nice that the player in the videos actually reacts to things like a person would, and it makes me a lot more immersed in it. the little circle done over the pianist (maybe to highlight and draw attention to the floating bartender in the void early, since that's going to be a plot point? subtle but nice touch if so) and the violent reaction to the shopkeep's shipping of the pianist and singer. all really nice touches!!

Yeah, Bartenders past fascinates me. Though, the idea of Bartender's past does not represent what I actually think *was* her past, just something I thought would be interesting if it was, meaning eventually this AU will diverge from canon in a more extreme way. Especially with relations to the void cat and such. There's a lot I have planned and I'm unsure how much of it will ever see the light of day but I'll sure try when the time becomes available to me!

holy, this is really good. this is so believable, that if you hadn't clarified that this was fanmade in the description i would have completely thought this was real and wouldve tried to find this myself. amazing job!
