Btw torso is more complex than you think, and this guys doesn't give any depth information at all, he just giving out bad advice

I'd just recommend yall practise first drawing shapes like lines and circles, till it becomes more natural. Usually if you can't loosely draw a circle like that, it's because your hand is too strict, or you handle the pencil wrong. I paint more but i have been doing art for like 10 years +

I practise it by doing speed drawings, first 1 min, then with 3 min a new one, picking out the mistakes, and then the final with 5 min

Also, remember that most people have SOME body fat to their body, or are lankier than the builds you see drawn a lot. Varoiety in body type can help practice poses with weight and can help develop a sense of variety in your character design, as well as just straight up make it simpler- can’t mess up the muscle structure if they’re not visible!
I’m a big fan of starting my torsos as 2 box shapes (rib cage and pelvis) with squishy stuff in between (abdomen), that way you can draw it from any angle, twisting, bending and stuff like that and it looks like it has volume. After you have the big general shapes (a circle doesn’t tell us much about perspective) then you can think about muscle, skin, fat and bone.
@@Bingus54321 well know your talking about abnormal people. This only covers how to draw the frame of an average person (muscle size interchangeable). But still if you’re asking for genuine advice, a fat person still has this frame under all that fat, so keep that in mind when drawing the lumps and curves. Other than that, fat is loose and doesn’t really keep a definite shape so it there’s lots of creative freedom there, and I don’t have a lot of experience with it

step 3: erase the useless circle
the circle is used as a guideline to make the torso more balanced and not wonky. so it’s not useless 🤓☝️
To draw the circle, first you draw face, they erase some of the details, and 1 2 3... a circle thing.
