Ingredients食材料:
50g sago 50克西米
1/2 piece Dragon fruit 1/2粒火龙果
200ml coconut milk 200毫升椰奶
400ml water 400毫升水
50g sugar 50克糖
2 tsp agar-agar powder 2茶匙燕菜粉
1 tsp konnyaku jelly powder 1茶匙蒟蒻果冻粉
1 tsp corn starch1茶匙玉米淀粉
1/4 tsp salt1/4茶匙盐

agar-agar is a type of seaweed plants, we can't make it. it needs to be processed before becomes edible . it can be formed into powder or strands. Please refer to my the other video of coffee agar-agar, more clearer about its brand name that i have used. Thank you

I tried the recipe, the agar-agar have very strong coconut taste, did I cook it for too long or too high flame during cooking?
As shown in the video, it should cook on medium flame and off the flame at the stages it's about to boil, do not overcook on any recipes especially in liquid form that with coconut milk added or you will lose the original taste of the coconut milk. Thanks

Dear Zhen, is the Konnyaku jelly powder the same as instant jelly powder. Thanks. I have bought a bottle of that n dun know how to use it. Thx
Good Evening Angela, Instant jelly powder is not suitable to replace konnyaku jelly powder in this recipe, due to its inability to grip sago firmly. if you want to skip konnyaku jelly powder, you can always add additional one and a half (1 1/2) agar-agar powder as replacement instead. Thank you

Can we use cornflour or geletin instead of agar agar powder? Then how much?
you can use gelatin powder but not cornflour instead, since agar-agar powder is more potent than the gelatin powder, hence, you need to use about 25g gelatin powder to replace 2 tsp agar-agar powder & 1 tsp konnyaku jelly powder of the recipe. thanks

What is it konnyak jelly powder
konnyaku jelly powder is made from a type of plant root called konjac. It will enhance the chewiness and reduce hardness of agar-agar. It will help to grip sago more firmly and tightly. Please refer to the other video of my channel, which has shown the packing of its. Thank you

you can use any reasonable volume of water to cook and soak the sago until it's become transparent. Thanks

The perfect ratio combination of solidity nature of agar-agar powder and softness of jelly powder in this recipe, not only in gripping of sago firmly and tightly, it can maintain the chewiness too. If you want to use only jelly powder alone, you will loose the solid taste of agar-agar for sure. You can give it a try, who knows, maybe that will suit your taste. Thanks
