We gotta appreciate players like Rio who tell great stories about other great players and leave their own egos at the door. We see a lot of admiration amongst former players but not normally when they directly competed.

Leave their own egos? The man claims he's better than John Terry despite practically every defensive record of the era belonging to Terry and carvalho. Guy has a massive ego. He thinks he's top 3 of all time. Guys a clown.

I lost all respect for Ferdinand when he said England would win the world cup (knocked out next round) that Brazil were the only other realistic contenders (knocked out same round) and that Michael Owen, who never reached 20 league goals, nor 30 goals in a season, was better than Haaland. As far as punditry goes, I feel his opinion is almost worthless.

Ian Wright is the absolute number one irrefutable example of why children need a father figure in order to develop properly....
Ian's early life was tough and heading in the wrong direction, his father left when he was no more than a baby and his step father was a violent and uncaring man.... but he was lucky enough to be mentored by a teacher who cared about him and gave him guidance.
Ian became one of the great football players but never forget how easily life could have been very different if it hadn't been for the male teacher......

My favourite pundit. Never really got to see him play in his prime though, only clips online and I can remember him being at celtic for a short time at the very end of his career but that's about it. He's a very likeable guy on TV though. Very honest and genuine.

Absolutely fantastic take on Wrighty from Rio here top man. Ian Wright was unbelievable, a lot of the Arsenal fans growing up in the 90s supported Arsenal because of him. His charisma and quality were just brilliant

He was my childhood crush for as many years as I can remember. Used to cut out all pics of him from the papers and make books. I used to be a regular at Highbury, northbank stand lower tier, it was the highlight of my week. Cried so much when he left…

His goal scoring record in the years he played for arsenal is outstanding. I think he gets overlooked by none arsenal fans because of Dennis Bergkamps partnership with Thierry Henry. Same as Sylvain Wiltord and Kanu. Both arsenal legends.

Lol. I didn't watch him growing up.. but the little of his highlights I saw few months back made me realise how good he actually was
And when In an interview he said "Most strikers these days keep missing easy chances...
There are different places you cannokace the ball .. the Goalkeeper is just in one of those positions but there are different other places ..
Top right corner , top left , mid , bottom, lob, dribble etc.
You gotta score when you're in on Goal "
    And that's how I feel as well .. I don't know .. Striker's stuff perhaps

...Im gona say what no one else is saying... If you were young and black, you liked Ian Wright and Henry. The whole reason Arsenal has strong support from the black community was literally because of Ian Wright or Henry depending on your age.
As a kid I used to be so shocked when people would assume that I supported Arsenal. As I got older I knew why they suspected it... And they were right!
