There are no video clips of USMC or US Army M777 being fired faster than this. 6 rounds per minute from a Canadian M777: You people must be insane! Raining death that fast must be a Canadian thing.
We do more with less. Keeps us from being cannon fodder during joint operations. Afghanistan was an opportunity to keep our readiness nicely polished. Not every government is that way though. Mind you, Canadians never got their fighting male population seriously depleted.
I remember standing in back of a battery of 8 triple 7's as they fired for three hours straight and for the next 48 hours my entire body was as rigid as iron and would have a complete spasm every couple of minutes. And imagine being on the receiving end...
Gun positions may look rear echelon back in the GWOT days, but when there's counterfire, there is no such thing as rear echelon. Seen the Ukrainians packing these fuckers in 90 seconds ready to scoot straight after last round?
They're combat arms troops. A gunner is FAR from an REMF. They'll go full out infantillery if they have to. Also never call a gun a cannon or your service rifle a gun. They *WILL* correct you lol.
Nah a bunch are in Europe with the rest of Nato, setting up posts, and reinforcing defensive lines in case Russia really decides to go ham and attempts to invade the rest of Europe. Plus there's some Special forces in Ukraine aiding in the training of Ukrainian Soldiers and training civilians. But yes for the most part, most are at home. But don't worry they're not just twiddling their thumbs. They've probably got jobs at home, on the side from being deployed, and if not, they're usually at their units Homeland base, barracks, etc taking part in further training themselves and the obvious work needed to get more equipment fixed, cleaned, and prepared for future deployments. Now DONT quote me per se, I could be wrong about somethings. Just Going off of what my buddy who's in the Canadian Armed forces has told me.
